This spacious, cozy suite is in a fabulous location. Many great restaurants and hot spots within a few blocks. The renowned Ava Gene's and Pok Pok restaurants and Salt & Straw ice cream are within 2-3 blocks. Great walking & bus location.

In June come for the Rose Festival, the Blues Festival over the 4th of July, the Christmas boats in December. Hike the trails in Forest Park or the Columbia River Gorge where you'll see fabulous natural wonders like waterfalls and rain forests. I look forward to hosting you.

There is no cooking access to the kitchen.

The elegant upstairs guest suite has two rooms and a bathroom. It is quite spacious and private. When the weather is nice feel free to have your coffee and muffins on the front deck in the sun. You access the house through the front door.
As listed, cooking is not available in the kitchen, but feel free to store your wonderful leftover dining gems in the fridge.
Also, this house isn't a great choice for guests with small children.
Interaction with Guests
I am very flexible when it comes to interaction with guests. If you have questions or want to chat, then that's great. If you just want time on your own, that's fine too. I live on the main floor level and you have the upstairs level, so it's quiet and private. But I'm right here if you want to visit over coffee or have a glass of wine together, depending on my schedule.
This neighborhood is what attracted me to live here. It's very friendly and I know all my neighbors. We have block parties and help one another out. Also, there are many new hot spots to explore on Division Street just two blocks away, making this a prime location in Portland.
There is a bus stop 2 blocks from my house that takes you downtown. Portland has a great public transportation system, so it's easy to get around even if you don't have a car. It's also easy to rent a bike nearby if you want. Parking is free right in front of the house. From the airport it's a $40 cab ride.
Other Things to Note
I like to think about hosting in terms of how I'd like to experience being at someone's house. A balance between being helpful and respecting your privacy. I try to anticipate what my guests might need by providing filtered drinking water, shampoo, lotion, hair dryer, etc. It's important to me to make the space welcoming and special by using high quality towels and linens, having fresh flowers, etc. I really want you to enjoy your visit to Portland.
This is a non-smoking house (smoking outside is permitted) and a shoe free house. Please leave your shoes in the enclosed front porch in order to keep the house as clean as possible. Also no visiting pets allowed as there is an old cat who lives here already and he thinks it's his house. However, the cat does not go upstairs so he is not in the guest suite.
The kitchen use is not included with the room rental, however, if you have fabulous leftovers from dining out, you may certainly keep them in the fridge.
Please use coasters (provided) for beverages in the guest suite to protect the antiques. We also practice recycling so containers will be provided for your recyclables.
We appreciate your turning off lights, heaters, fans, etc. when you leave.
I work from my home office which is located on the second floor. There may be times during the day that I need to access the upstairs office. I will do so without disturbing your space.
My home is in a friendly neighborhood. Please respect the neighbors by keeping noise down and by parking in front of this house.
Front door key will be provided for access. Parking is free on the street and there is always a parking space available.
Wonderful as always! Great walkable neighborhood, cozy attic room with view. We happened to be there during Art Walk and loved it.
Thank you Leslie. See you soon.
The rooms were exactly as described, one full, one twin bed. Great bathroom, good light and ventilation, etc. Leslie was wonderful--she gave us restaurant recommendations and delicious muffins for breakfast.
The neighborhood is fantastic, just two or three blocks from many of Portland's trendy restaurants--including my new favorite ice cream place Salt and Straw. We managed to go twice in one day! Good thing I don't live here.
I would definitely recommend Leslie's place to a friend who was looking in Portland.
This is the third time we've stayed at Leslie's. It is always a pleasure to be her guest.
Her place is perfect for people, like my brother and me. Most airbnb accommodations are geared to couples. Leslie's upstairs suite has 2 bedrooms separated by a door and a bathroom. The rooms would be suitable for 2 friends, a couple with a child, or others who need more than one bed and one bedroom.
Leslie is a warm ray of sunshine--her yellow house fits her hospitable and generous personality. The accommodations were clean, quiet, and cozy, and the breakfast treats were delicious. The neighborhood is very safe and well-located.
Leslie was very kind to me. My flight was delayed and I ended up arriving at 2:00 am! She kept in touch during the schedule changes and got up to welcome me and get me settled when I arrived. Her home is lovely and clean. She has thought about all the details --- fresh drinking water, home made muffins, big fluffy towels.. Pumpkin spiced coffee -- it was a perfect place to stay while exploring Portland.
Leslie was a considerate and gracious hostess, especially considering the fact that she had a personal emergency to attend to. Her home is close enough to the bus line to make travel into downtown Portland easy. The rooms were not as light and airy as the photos portrayed (the bed coverings had been changed) and our rooms were a bit chilly, but the place was comfortable and clean.
I love having people stay with me! It's so great to meet new folks and hear about the travel adventures of others.
I absolutely love to travel. There are so many wonderful places to visit in the world. I have done different styles of travel from relaxing vacations (sitting on the beach) to humanitarian projects in developing countries (building a school in Guatemala). I am outgoing and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. My great art is cooking. I love preparing artful meals that are yummy and beautiful. Also love trying new foods from other cultures. It's great fun to host people in my home. I will welcome you warmly and help you find the Portland experience you are looking for.
