Guest Access

The upstairs guest suite has two rooms and a bathroom. It is quite spacious and private. When the weather is nice feel free to have your coffee and muffins on the front deck in the sun. You access the house through the front door.

Interaction with Guests

I am very flexible when it comes to interaction with guests. If you have questions or want to chat, then that's great. If you just want time on your own, that is fine too. I live on the main floor level and you have the upstairs level, so it's quiet and private. But I'm right here if you want to visit or have a glass of wine together.

The Neighborhood

This neighborhood is what attracted me to live here. It's very friendly and I know all my neighbors. We have block parties and help one another out. Also, there are many new hot spots to explore on Division Street just two blocks away, making this a prime location in Portland.

Getting around

There is a bus stop 2 blocks from my house that takes you downtown. Portland has a great public transportation system, so it's easy to get around even if you don't have a car. It's also easy to rent a bike nearby if you want. Parking is free right in front of the house. From the airport it's a $40 cab ride.

Other Things to Note

I like to think about hosting in terms of how I'd like to experience being at someone's house. I try to anticipate what my guests might need by providing filtered drinking water, shampoo, lotion, etc. I like to make the space welcoming and special by using high quality towels and linens. I really want you to enjoy your visit to Portland.

  • Had a very enjoyable stay with Leslie. The accommodations were ideal for me and within walking distance of my son's apartment and the amenities of Division Street.

  • We loved Leslie's place for our quick stay in Portland. Conveniently located in nice neighborhood. Close to great restaurants.
The room was clean and comfortable. We wish we could have stayed longer! Leslie was very kind and offered tea/coffee and muffins in the morning. I highly suggest.

    Response from Leslie:

Thanks, Samantha. You'll have to come back to Portland again and enjoy it for a little longer. Maybe I'll see you in SF.

  • Great stay as always! Thanks for accommodating my last minute booking.

  • Leslie is a fabulous host who strives to make your experience the best it can be! Great beds, great bathroom and space heaters provided in both rooms.

  • As always Leslie has been very welcoming and helpful. Looking forward to my return trip to Portland and her place will always be on the top of my list of places to stay!

  • Leslie's place is great. This is my second stay. Both times I have stayed for 3-4 weeks working on projects. Her location is great not only because it is walkable to restaurants and my favorite tea shop but it is in lovely quiet neighborhood with parking directly in front of her house. Her attic rooms are cozy, clean, tastefully decorated and filled with sunlight. It is a very comfortable place for longer stays. The internet and phone reception is reliable and strong. I feel like I now have a friend in Portland!

  • I chose this location mainly because it was close to a project I was working on. However once I was there I learned that it was close to everything! Great restaurants, shopping, coffee/tea shoppes, and fun Portland movie theaters. The best part is, it is a very walkable location.

The large room was tucked away in a cozy attic with a spacious private bath. The bedroom is complete with a sofa, desk, plenty of dresser/closet space, and large view window.

Leslie was wonderful. Her sweet and gentile nature was very welcoming. I never felt uncomfortable staying in her home and am looking forward to my next trip to Portland.

  • Leslie is a terrific host. She is always gracious and helpful. The upstairs space is cozy and welcoming. In the morning she made muffins for myself and my daughter and had the fixing for coffee and teas laid out. It's in an extremely walkable section of SE Portland.

  • Staying with Leslie was the perfect end to out three-week trip throughout the US. The house itself is wonderfully decorated, full of intricate detail that makes you feel at home from the very first moment. The upstairs guest's rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean and comfortable (the violet bedding you can see on the photos is one of the softest, most comfortable I've ever slept in!). Leslie was a delight to stay with and the reason why I love Airbnb so much! She made us feel at home, baked delicious muffins for breakfast and was understanding of our crazy schedules. Not only would I recommend staying with Leslie, but I would encourage you to spend as much time as you can time her as she is an amazing and interesting person.

  • Leslie was a wonderful host! Her house is beautiful and we really enjoyed walking around the neighborhood. It was really convenient for sampling the Division St. nightlife as well. When we were done with that, the bed was so comfortable that it was tough to get up in the morning. :) The reward (muffins) for getting up was worth it, though!

I love having people stay with me! It's so great to meet new folks and hear about the travel adventures of others. I absolutely love to travel. There are so many wonderful places to visit in the world. I have done different styles of travel from relaxing vacations (sitting on the beach) to humanitarian projects in developing countries (building a school in Guatemala). I am outgoing and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. My great art is cooking. I love preparing artful meals that are yummy and beautiful. Also love trying new foods from other cultures. It's great fun to host people in my home. I will welcome you warmly and help you find the Portland experience you are looking for.
