Interaction with guests
This house is open to diversity and welcome all visitors who treat it with respect and consideration. I am very flexible when it comes to interaction with guests. If you have questions or want to chat, then that's great. If you just want time on your own, that's fine too. I live on the main floor level and you have the upstairs level, so it's quiet and private. I'm right here if you want to visit over coffee or have a glass of wine together, depending on my schedule.
This neighborhood is what attracted me to live here. It's very friendly, quiet and I know all my neighbors. We have block parties and help one another out. Also, there are many new hot spots to explore on Division Street just two blocks away, making this a prime location in Portland.
There is a bus stop 2 blocks from my house that takes you downtown. Portland has a great public transportation system, so it's easy and inexpensive to get around even if you don't have a car. It's also easy to rent an hourly bike nearby if you want. Parking is free right in front of the house. From the airport it's a $35 taxi ride, slightly less for Uber/Lyft or book with me to come get you.
Other things to note
I like to think about hosting in terms of how I'd like to experience being at someone's house. A balance between being helpful and respecting your privacy. I try to anticipate what my guests might need by providing mini fridge, snacks, filtered drinking water, shampoo, lotion, hair dryer, etc. It's important to me to make the space welcoming and special by using high quality towels and linens, having fresh flowers, etc. I really want you to enjoy your visit to Portland. I love having people stay with me! It's so great to meet new folks and hear about the travel adventures of others.
I absolutely love to travel. There are so many wonderful places to visit in the world. I have done different styles of travel from relaxing vacations (sitting on the beach) to humanitarian projects in developing countries (building a school in Guatemala). I am outgoing and enjoy meeting people from all over the world. My great art is cooking. I love preparing artful meals that are yummy and beautiful. Also love trying new foods from other cultures. It's great fun to host people in my home. I will welcome you warmly and help you find the Portland experience you are looking for.
