This listing is for a private bedroom in my loft. No other guests are in your room. The kitchen, living room, and two bathrooms are shared with the other guests and me. I provide you with fresh sheets and towels for your stay, and you’ll have your own shelf in the kitchen for food and in the bathroom for your toiletries.
The room is 180 square feet, and has a twin bed, a full size bed, a dresser and a desk.
Situated in the hippest part of Greenpoint Brooklyn, my loft is convenient to both Manhattan and Williamsburg. A true factory loft conversion, it's 2200 square feet (204 square meters) in a former box factory. I’ve renovated it into a great live/work space, having all of the common loft niceties such as high ceilings, brick walls, wood floors and HUGE bedrooms. I have upgraded to a 30Mbps internet connection and this high speed internet comes free over my secure wifi network.
Home to more cafés, bars, restaurants, and boutique shops than I could possibly list, Greenpoint holds it's own even before being a hop skip and a jump from Williamsburg. A quick search of Franklin St, Greenpoint Ave, or Manhattan Ave. should yield a great deal of information about my neighborhood.
G train 2 blocks away – don’t believe the hate it gets, the G train is FINE
B62 bus at the end of my block – takes you right to Williamsburg and beyond..
B43 bus at the same stop – takes you to Bushwick and beyond..
Java car service at the end of my block – great luxury cars, good prices
Yellow taxis are a common sight in my neighborhood
East River Ferry 3 blocks away – connections to midtown, Wall St, and Brooklyn waterfront neighborhoods via the East River.
There is a vacant lot 2 blocks away where you can leave your car indefinitely without having to move it. Otherwise, there is parking just outside my place, but it’s subject to alternate side parking rules.
NOTE: By booking you are agreeing to abide by the house rules and to arrange for some kind of communication (cellphone is best) for check-in purposes.
There are CATS here. I know it says so already in the listing, but some people don't read the entire listing, so I feel it's important to put it here at the beginning. They are very mellow and un-intrusive, but they are still cats. If you don't like cats, be sure to read the full listing on any property you look at to avoid confusion.

This was a great place to stay. Lou was a very friendly and accommodating host. The room was comfortable and spacious. Easy access to Manhattan using public transport and lots of great things to see and do in the local area.
I had an excellent time at Lou's place it was clean spacious and accessible to public transport. A Beautiful loft and pretty much what you see in the air BnB is what you get. The only complaint I have is the pillows were a little flat for my liking. Thanks Lou great host.
Lou's place was awesome! It is located in a very nice area in Brooklyn just a 20 minute subway from Manhattan. Lou was very friendly and helpful and always answered any questions that I had about the city. His two cats were also really friendly and I really enjoyed their company! I would recommend Lou to anyone who wants a nice place to stay in New York!
I had a very pleasant stay at Lou's place. He is very easy going and a friendly host. I really liked his living and my room (C) was clean and large. The building is situated in a nice part of Greenpoint and a short walk to the subway. I would recommend his place to everyone .
I stayed with Lou for just over a week and had a really fantastic experience! Lou is a cool guy and also very helpful, conscientious and welcoming, certainly someone i would want to stay in contact with in the future.
The place was perfect, really tastefully and imaginatively designed and built, very comfortable and warm and has all of the utensils and appliances needed for a great stay. My room was very large and comfortable, it was also great to work in with a desk and natural light from the window.
The location is also excellent in a quiet part of Greenpoint in between Franklin and Manhattan Aves, and a short walk to all the great bars/restaraunts and the G train. Most highly recommended!!! I would certainly stay again.
Great location, apartment & room.
Really easy to pick up keys.
Lou is a great host.
I'd highly recommend staying here!
Lou's place is great. Heaps of atmosphere, a bit ramshackle - just like a loft should be - and wonderfully warm and welcoming. I stayed long enough to get to know the cats and the surrounding area and I couldn't recommend it more. There are a bunch of neat little cafes and bars nearby and Greenpoint has a great gritty charm to it. Lou's got some basic house rules that you need to follow (pretty much amounting to leaving the kitchen clean, not blocking up the toilets, and keeping the cats inside) and as long as these are being observed, he's a lovely, laid back, amiable kind of gent. Got lots of good advice about local eateries/bars/activities too. The bed in my room was recently upgraded and I found it pretty comfortable, the sun comes through the window in the morning which is really nice - especially if you're working at the desk - and the cats love hunting around for invisible things under the rug. I really dug the mismatched sheets and grandma pillow cases and Lou has done an excellent job of the walls which are well-soundproofed. Lots of charm and a really awesome space! I'd totally do it again.
We had a great time in New York and the cosy loft was a calm alternative to busy Manhatten.
The subway station is easily reached and public transport connections to Manhatten are really good - we spent most of the days there.
But in fact the neighborhood is more special and it's nice to discover all the little places nearby.
It was a great first stay in New York !
Staying with Lou was fantastic. He's a great host and his place is awesome.
It's very conveniently located and is in a nice, quiet area - with lots of great night spots just a short walk away.
