Charming, spacious, sunny studio in the heart of Manhattan in West Village near Greenwich Village, SoHo, Chelsea. Historic building on a lively block that's on every walking tour of NYC. Brick walls, comfortable bed, clean accommodation near subways.
Very charming, spacious, sunny studio in the very heart of the Village, between Greenwich and West Village, on a lively (yet pretty quiet at night) block that's on every walking tour of New York City.
Historic mid-19th century building in an officially landmarked Greenwich Village area. Exposed brick wall with former fireplaces, new, very comfortable queen size sofa bed (as comfortable as a very good mattresses), full kitchen with espresso machine, full bathtub, internet/wifi, A/C, sunny southwest exposure. Unique decor touches like self-made light fixtures. Musical instruments in case you wish to play.
Clean sheets, towels, soap/shampoo provided. Apartment is clean and cozy. 4th floor walk-up - high enough away from the street noise and above the buildings across the street to see plenty of sky - yet not hard to walk up. (This is in the middle of the City, so please don't expect suburban silence on Friday-Saturday evenings, but only the most sensitive sleepers may find this problematic.)
Outside your door are several of the best bakeries, ice cream shops, best pizza in NYC, famous cheese, chocolate, sweets shops, one of the best craft beer bars in the city, best butchers in New York, and excellent coffee shops (all - as rated by multiple publications like Zagat, Time Out New York, Yelp, blogs etc. and featured in "food tours" passing by daily) and countless restaurants, bars, great jazz clubs, 24-hour supermarkets and pharmacies, art house movie theaters, etc.
Walk in minutes to SoHo, East Village, Union Square, Lower East Side, TriBeCa, Meatpacking District, Chelsea. Several minutes walk to Hudson River Park through quiet, leafy streets of upscale West Village. Famous Washington Square Park is several blocks away.
Simply put, this is a tremendous location, and a wonderful place to stay. You are in the center of real New York where real New Yorkers come all the time, which is not Times Square.
Two minute walk to one of the most useful subway stations in the city (West 4th St / Washington Sq), serving seven trains on blue (direct from JFK airport or Penn Station) and orange lines (A,B,C,D,E,F,M trains.) One minute walk to Christopher street station on the red line (1 train.)
Other Things to Note
Please don't book if you are severely allergic to a space where pets usually live. (There won't be any pets at the time, and the apartment is professionally cleaned before every guest.) You can bring your house trained pets.
No smoking inside please, but you can smoke on the roof or on the fire escape outside the window.
We spent our Christmas holidays at Sasha and Kate apartment: it was very confortable and clean, furthermore its location is fantastic and strategic to visit NYC! We recommend it!
We had a great experience staying here. The photos and description are accurate. The apartment is a very nice and clean studio. There were no pet or kitchen odors. The bathroom was clean with good water pressure. We stayed during the winter, and the steam radiator heating kept the apartment very warm, but we opened the window to regulate the temperature. We didn't meet the hosts, but we communicated by email, and they were welcoming and accessible, and provided helpful information about the apartment and the neighborhood. The neighborhood is great for grocery and markets, walking, shopping, and nightlife. The hosts had helpful recommendations for area clubs and bars and restaurants, as well as transit options. We would stay here again.
My husband and I were hosted by Sasha very nicely. Although we didn't get to meet Sasha he gave us instructions on practical issues like how to get to the apartment to the apartment and gave us great tips and Recommendations about the neighborhood. He always responded to our emails with questions . The apartment was very clean and convenient and the location is AMAZING! We highly recommend staying at Sasha's place!
I felt home! I needed a place to stay for just a couple of days after a small trip and Sasha arranged everything beforehand. We even met before at his place so he could give me the keys and explain about the apartment.
The location is great. There are a lot of bars, restaurants and shops nearby. It's close to the subway and in a very good neighboorhod.
Everything was perfectly clean and tidy!
The studio is located in the heart of Greenwich Village, a great neighborhood with lots of restaurants and some of the best pizzerias in NYC, and a very authentic vibe. Easily accessible by metro. It has everything you need for a comfortable stay in NYC - and is cost-effective. I did stay in Bowery and Little Italy before, and I must say this area is much cleaner and nicer. The studio is also quite spacious, especially compared to tiny hotel room offered in the same price range.
It did get a bit noisy on weekends (parties in the lively neighborhood) and in the mornings because of the garbage trucks, also the fridge is a bit loud, but it didn't bother us much.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Sasha's place.
The studio is very well placed. it is clean and offers what you need for your holidays. We met Sasha couple of weeks before our travel he gave us all information needed to have a nice trip.
thank you Sasha :)
Sasha lives in the most perfect location in New York City -- right in the heart of the West Village. The street is lined with great restaurants, bakeries, cafes, patisseries, and ice cream shops. The studio itself is quiet and cozy -- it's shoe-box sized but you'll have a cozy station for your stay right in the heart of the (dare I say) best neighborhood in Manhattan. Sasha was extremely helpful, responsive, and friendly (we communicated by phone and email but didn't meet in person). Highly, highly recommended.
