We stayed for a few weeks in the fall while my husband got medical treatment. Being retired we travel and have rented AirBnB, etc in lots of places in US and beyond. Joe and Theresa’s place is probably the most tastefully designed and built we’ve had the pleasure to rent. From the stained concrete radiant floors, original artwork inside and sculptures outside, and private leafy dining space, it’s lovely and comfortable to live in. This is one our favorite architectural styles and a true Pacific Northwest modern. The best part is the gracious hospitality Joe and Theresa extend to their guests. You’re in an attached part of their home - kind of the walk-out lower level though that doesn’t quite describe it - but the house is so solidly built with modern concrete materials, you have complete sound privacy. Your door and outdoor area is on a different side of the house. Joe and Theresa give you complete privacy unless you need something so days would go by with us rarely seeing them. When we did need something they were helpful, warm and accommodating. The house is a ‘zero-lot-line’ in front, as one reviewer described, so be aware you’re feet from the street. It’s a short dead-end street on the lake though and very tucked away, so it was actually quite private. We lived in Seattle before, for 20+ years, and almost didn’t book because we weren’t sure about the area. You definitely need a car to get around. It’s a drive to get anywhere. That’s baked into the price though, so it’s a bargain and only took us 15 -20 minutes to get to the heart of ‘downtown’, if you can avoid rush hour. It’s also a lot quieter than staying in Downtown or Capitol Hill where we hear sirens all night long. You’ll pay more in those areas for a lot less quality and style. I’ll be honest, we also worried about safety in this part of town, but it was unfounded. The area is on the lake with nice houses all around. It’s tucked away in it’s own little community and we felt completely safe. In summary, it’s a real gem and a good bargain, and Joe and Theresa are wonderful hosts. We’d recommend it highly for a single person or a couple who don’t require a high ‘walk-ability score’, or a large space.

I just completed a 6 month stay here because of a temporary assignment for work. All the wonderful comments others have made are true: the apartment is beautiful, well appointed with lovely linens and all the kitchen-ware you could possibly need. The lovely art throughout makes the apartment feel like a chic, urban gallery. Their home is directly across from gorgeous Lake Washington and the neighborhood is very quiet, safe and full of lovely neighbors who look out for each other. But the highlight of my stay, far and away, was the time I spent getting to know Joe and Theresa. Traveling for 6 months away from my home which I've lived in for 14 years was challenging to say the least. Being close to Joe and Theresa and their adorable, love-bug of a doggie, Yogie, made my stay in Seattle a delight. They feel like family to me and welcomed me into their family from day one. Joe and Theresa live their lives with intelligence, compassion, elegance and joy. They make the world a better place with conscious, thoughtful living and community building everywhere they go. I feel blessed to have found them and their apartment. Do yourself a favor and book a stay here asap!

Joe and Theresa have a wonderful, art filled apartment, complete with washer and dryer and full kitchen. Joe gave me the tour of the place, after getting settled in, I headed for Pritchard Island Park, right on Lake Washington, great location! It is quiet and nestled in the trees to feel very private.

This is a great place to stay at! Was able to meet Joe and Theresa first thing upon my arrival. Joe gave me a quick tour of the place and they provided 2 Bottles of wine along with some beers in the fridge. Made the transition from moving from one coast to the other coast pretty easy. The neighborhood is nice, quiet and safe. Restaurants and grocery stores are 5-8 minutes away (by car). This location is right outside the city of Seattle so you will need to drive but not that far. There are malls and additional restaurants 15 minutes south of this place. SEATAC airport is 15-20 minutes away (depending on traffic, could take longer).
