2 adjoining rooms in a beatiful 350 year old house, big garden and yet in the centre of Salzburg's historical town! It sleeps up to 3 people (1 double bed, 1 single), wifi is incl. The bathroom with shower is on the 1st floor. It is within our living area, but we actually enjoy meeting our guests! The place you will be staying at is part of the house we are living in. However, you will have your own toilet and kitchenette.
The famous fortress of Salzburg is literally a stone´s throw away and everything can be reached on foot. Our next door neighbour is the oldest family run bakery in town, which means you will wake up to the smell of freshly baked bread and the nearest restaurant and cocktail bar is 150 m away. There are two bus lines that take you to the main station within 10 min or the airport within 25 min.
Our house is situated in the so called area Nonntal, just south of the fortress, and although it is part of the oldest bit of town its charm lies in the feeling of everybody having known each other for hundreds of years when only a few metres further you get to the most famous tourist areas in the world!
I would also like to add, that since you will be staying at a house that is more than 300 years old, the heating works fine, but we cannot heat the rooms up to 24 or 25 degrees, as some of our guests expected. The temperature during the day in the winter is about 20 degrees celsius and 3 or 4 degrees less during the night. Also, the hot water in the shower takes 2-3 min to arrive. So take the whole experience, living in an old house means adjusting to a different lifestyle, take a jumper with you, or we will be happy to lend you one!
Guests are welcome to use our washer and dryer at an extra cost of EUR 5.- each!

Silvia and Peter were excellent hosts, very friendly and relaxed. Silvia was great at getting back to my emails quickly.
The apartment was beautiful, clean and well equipped, with a very comfortable bed. The apartment is in a central location just a short walk to the old town. A great place to stay and experience Salzburg.
Thank you Silvia and Peter!
it is a beautiful more than 300years old. the house owner is very nice and guest s have their own kitchen and toilet, which make it very conveient . it is about 15min walk to the city center, traffic is conveient as well.
The photos are accurate - these really are two beautiful and very interesting rooms. The location is ideal for exploring Salzburg's old town. Peter was warm and helpful and provided outstanding restaurant recommendations, even helping us make reservations - as a result, we were treated like locals and never once felt like the lost tourists that we most certainly are.
The two rooms were both plenty warm for us in late January - warmer, in fact, than our own home. Sharing a house with a family, you will definitely bump into the family members from time to time but this is really more of a highlight than an issue. Overall, this is a much more interesting experience than staying in a hotel and I would gladly recommend it to others.
We had a great stay with Silvia and her family.
The apartment is in a great location, in a residential neighborhood, right next to a bakery (big plus for us). There is a lovely pedestrian path from their neighborhood to the old city. It is also convenient to the University where there are some excellent restaurants.
There are two rooms in the apartment, so kitchen is separate from sleeping quarters. Even though the apartment is technically in the basement, it is in fact on the ground floor since the house is on a hill.
Silvia and her husband are lovely hosts, so thoughtful and nice to visit with.
We had a great stay and would definitely recommend it.
We definitely recommend Silvias lovely accommodation in Salzburg. The apartment is very unique and in a great location - a short stroll to the the old town and all its sights as well as all the amenities you could need (two supermarkets, a lovely bakery, pharmacy etc) are also within minutes walk.
Silvia and her family were lovely, gracious hosts. They made us feel very welcome and treated us more as if we were friends staying, but without being at all intrusive. She patiently answered all of our questions and supplied maps and all the local insiders information we could desire.
As previous reviewers have stated, Silvias place would be appreciated more by travellers than tourists. Simple, clean accommodation in a fabulous location, with incredible hosts.
We recently stayed at Silvia's for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. The rooms are as amazing in person as in the photos. Very cosy and comfortable and a great retreat from full days exploring Salzberg. It's wonderfully located below the old castle/fortress and a short walk to the old city. Because we were out all day both days exploring the city our only regret is that we didn't get to know our hosts better, but Silvia was very warm and accommodating when we met her at arrival. Thank you for the wonderful stay!
Silvia and her family made for utterly charming hosts; ours was but a brief sojourn in Salzburg but when we did see them or needed their assistance they were very friendly, warm and helpful.
The rooms themselves were clean, characterful and spacious and the house a delight: there's a mountain at the end of the street! In terms of amenities: there is a lovely bakery just next door, shops and local transport in very close proximity.
The location was just ideal: the Hofburg soars above your head as soon as you leave the property, the area itself is really rather pretty and the deservedly beloved old town is a few minutes walk (there is a beautiful 'shortcut', if you don't mind a steep climb, affording views of the surrounding mountains that takes you just past a Benedictine monastery).
In short, if you are a contemplating a trip to Salzburg, you ought to consider staying with Schweinburgers.
Silvia welcomed our group into her beautiful home with open arms! Sharing the space with her family was a wonderful experience and her recommendations definitely helped us enjoy the majestic city of Salzburg to the fullest extent. The apartment was impeccably clean and offered all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. I would definitely recommend anyone to stay at Silvia's apartment and hope to visit again sometime soon!
sehr gute Lage, ruhig, zentrumsnah, sauber, gepflegt. 100 Punkte!
We had a lovely stay in Salzburg! The rooms were private, super clean and comfortable, and in an awesome spot really close to everything. Thanks so much for having us! :D
