The Dunson River Lodge is a large rustic log cabin compound right on the Wenatchee River in kid-friendly Ponderosa Estate 20 minutes north of Leavenworth. Bring your family and friends or keep it intimate and romantic, as you will have a secluded hot tub, firepit and grill station next to the river. There are 3 different spaces perfect for a large group: main cabin, guest cabin and bunkhouse, with a total of 9 beds.

• Two fully stocked kitchens
• Patio and grill station by the river
• The main cabin has 2 bedrooms (king, queen bed) and full kitchen. The kitchen and floor were replaced in August, 2020. The bathroom has a heated tile floor and custom barn wood vanity with a copper sink
• Guest cabin has a kitchen, bathroom and 2 bedrooms (king, queen/twin XL bunk)
• Gas and wood fireplaces, Smart TV, WiFi and Bluetooth sound bar
• Bunkhouse with 4 XL Twin beds and electric fireplace for ambiance
• Full sized washer/dryer
• Covered porch with a swing and a separate seating area for a great view of the river

Our compound is in a development called Ponderosa Estates, with 585 lots and nearly 400 cabins among 243 acres of greenbelts. There are 13 trails that are used in every season for show shoeing, hiking or walking the dog. Interestingly, Ponderosa Estates was a short-lived equestrian development, thus the extensive trail system and fun names like Saddle, Pinto, Colt and Lariat. Today it is a welcoming, unpretentious development showcasing an eclectic mix of cabins, chalets and homes of all kinds. Everyone seems nicer here.

Enjoy golf at nearby Kahler Glen, float the Wenatchee River (and get out in our backyard!), visit the Bavarian town of Leavenworth 20 minutes to the south or simply enjoy the warm weather and huge ponderosa pines. Plain Cellars is an award-winning winery in town and the Mountain Springs Lodge with their zipline or sleigh rides is 3 miles away. Plain Hardware, the coolest hardware store we've ever seen, rents XC and snow shoes for the trails they maintain across the street. They have a nice coffee bar and soups, plus all kinds of unique gifts and clothing.

Forbes Magazine recently named Leavenworth as one of their "14 coolest towns for your vacation" and said nearby Plain is a “secret treasure.” Come and disconnect, laugh with friends, get your heart pumping on some multisport adventures and enjoy some good local wine or a favorite brew from Icicle Brewing Company.
