The Cottage is a secluded yet comfy tiny house overlooking the lawn and garden at the edge of the woods. The quiet country setting is located on the NY Amish Trail and is just minutes from the Equestrian Trail, and hiking trails abound. Holiday Valley, Casino, National Comedy Center, Amish Shops, & Alleghany State Park make for a nice drive. Our rentals are located in a private setting surrounded by nature, shared by the family and other cabins. EV Charger is available.

The space
Welcome to The Cottage, a place to escape from the world - to find rest in a peaceful setting. This is a tiny house (approximately 400 sq. ft) with everything you may need for a relaxing getaway. The 14-acre property has a couple of walking paths through the woods if you enjoy morning or evening walks. There are open lawn areas as well as wood areas for exploration. The bunnies, deer, and turkey are very active on our property - you may see them in the garden and on the walking paths. You may see the neighborhood deer on the lower lawn in the evening or early morning.

This Tiny House Cottage boasts all the amenities you could need and décor to give you that country feel. It’s the perfect stay if you love modern amenities with country tranquility. There is one bedroom with a queen-size memory foam mattress and one bath. The bedroom and bathroom are freshly painted for the 2022 rental year.

If you are looking for something more private, check out our Hillside Retreat. If you are looking for something more unique, check out our Chapel unit.

The Kitchen is fully stocked (cookware/bakeware for the stove/oven), service for four dinnerware, glasses/coffee mugs. There is a microwave and Keurig Coffee Maker for your use. If you plan on cooking during your stay, there is a refrigerator and freezer for your use. We provide starter amounts of coffee pods, creamer, and sugar. Depending on your length of stay, you may need to pick up more.

Next to the deck, you will find a grill available for your use - check the storage container next to the deck stairs. There often is charcoal & fluid for your use. Enjoy your coffee, a glass of wine, or a bottle of beer on the deck at the bistro table. Morning and evening meals enjoyed under the umbrella will add to your relaxation. There is a citronella pot to hold the flying pests at bay.

There is a fire pit just across the lawn near the gardens for your use. Usually, there is wood available. Relax in the chairs and make s’mores or star gaze. Feel free to take advantage of the log swing near the firepit.

The Cottage has a TV with an HDTV digital antenna to see the local stations and others (no cable or Wi-Fi at this time). You will find a selection of DVDs for your use if you want to relax with a movie. We have more choices in movies if you don't see something that interests you. There is usually cell service for most carriers – this is a true get-a-way.

There is a small washer in this unit. If you need assistance with it – give us a call! There is a drying above the washer. We've found the best setting is the "smart" setting.

We just added a charge point EV charger for guests with electric cars.

We also use the units as a stay-cation; we are pet-free due to serious health issues. If you have a service animal, please let us know - thank you for understanding why we need to know.

Where you’ll be

Cherry Creek, New York, United States

This area, while fairly quiet, boasts some great gems. You can follow the Amish trail and explore their shops, check out their quilts and hand-made items. There are a number of restaurants in the area - Check out The Trillium Lodge for a truly rustic event. If you enjoy horseback riding – the trails are just down the road! The same goes for hiking trails. Are you interested in antique hunting? There are several stores in the area – Conewango Valley, Salamanca, Ellicottville. If you are heading to Salamanca, stop in the Casino!

You will be sharing the road with our Amish community. Keep an eye out for the horse and buggies, especially when it is dark. They will have a red caution triangle on the back of the buggy, but at night or in bad weather it can be difficult to see. Many will have lanterns on the side of the buggy, but they aren’t very bright.

We are just outside of the Hamlet of Cherry Creek; a small community with just one blinking light.

With just a drive you can also explore Ellicottville, Chautauqua, Niagara Falls, Buffalo, Lily Dale, Kinzua Dam, Salamanca, Chautauqua Lake, Cassadaga Lake, Erie - PA, Jamestown, Findley Lake - so many places to explore!

We live on the property, in case you need anything.

We live and work in the Cherry Creek, NY area. My wife Tamara and I would like to share our quiet, peaceful setting with those who would like to escape the city and technology. You can find me working at our hardware store just a mile down the road or puttering around the property.

During your stay

We would like to greet our guests at check-in, but there may be times that we are unable to. We will make sure the unit is ready for you in that case. The best way to reach us is through the Airbnb app. If you don't have it on your phone, please give us a heads up so we can make other arrangements for communication.

You may see us out and about on the property doing lawn care, gardening and maintenance. Please feel free to interact - we love to chat, but will also give you your privacy if that is what you need.

You can enjoy the walking paths on the property. We ask that you honor the posted signs of neighbors. There is a seasonal pond out back - just a short walk away. Because we are in a wooded area, you may need bug spray.

There is a garden you can enjoy. You will find a variety of flowers as well as seasonal fruit and veggies. You are welcome to sample the fruit/veggies.
