This historic 309-square foot cabin was built in 1932 for men working on the Shadow Mountain dam. When we found it, we knew this would be the perfect getaway. Our cabin is 4 miles from downtown Grand Lake! It's a short drive to restaurants, shops, hiking, fishing, the beach and kayak/boat rentals. Head to Rocky Mountain National park to hike and see wildlife or stay home and enjoy s'mores around the fire. On a clear night the stars are absolutely breathtaking!

The space
Clean one bedroom one bed cabin with lofted bed, two guest maximum. A full kitchen, shower, fire pit, and parking. The cabin is neighboring to other small cabins tucked away in a wooded area off the main road. Road noise is likely please keep this in mind we are right off the main road . Keep your eyes open, you may see moose walking through the front yard!

The lofted bed in the bedroom takes up almost the entire room! Climbing into the bed can be a challenge for someone with a disability since it is higher than an average standing bed, please keep this in mind. There is a collapsible stool in the closet if needed. It's a cool space with a small closet for your bags/to hang clothes. From the bed, you can climb into the loft.

The main living room is cozy and Netflix ready! On the RoKu TV you can stream any subscriptions you have.

The kitchen is stocked with water bottles, pots and pans, dishes and silverware, cooking utensils, cups, mugs, spices, coffee, sugar, creamer and tea. There is a small table for two with stools for you to eat at! Enjoy a full size gas range in the kitchen as well as a microwave, and refrigerator/freezer.

The bathroom has shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, makeup remover pads, Q-tips, hair dryer, bath towels, washcloths and beach towels.


The front yard has 4 Adirondack chairs around a fire pit and string lighting above. There’s a beautiful secluded deck area with a picnic table, lighted umbrella, 2 loungers and a propane grill. Enjoy the sound of the tranquil stream right behind the cabin that runs in the spring and summer where moose are often found.

Remember that this cabin is 309 square feet! It's very small and super cozy.

Other things to note
Pets are not allowed and you will be charged $125 fee plus extra fees for cleaning if you bring a pet.

Neighborhood highlights

You can walk across the street to Shadow mountain reservoir and recreation area.
Downtown Grand Lake is so amazing for shopping and eating. I also love to hike and highly recommend a drive to the National Park. 1-day, 7-day, and 1-year Passes are available at the park gates. You will need reservations again in the park so plan in advance!
