Bright, cosy one bedroom apartment in the heart of the city centre. The location could not be bettered for visiting Dublin's museums, pubs, restaurants, theatres and cafes. Fully equipped kitchen, balcony, television, reliable wifi, balcony.

The Space

One bedroom apartment located the city centre on Patrick Street on the third floor of a secure building. The building is directly opposite St Patrick's Cathedral and park. Fast Wif of course.

The location in the south city centre is the best for culture, shopping and sightseeing. Details below.

There is a large balcony that spans the width of the apartment.

It is the best place in Dublin to watch the St. Patrick's Day Parade!

One large bedroom with queen size bed and plenty of wardrobe space, including pull out shoe storage, drawers and hanging storage. French door to balcony.

There is also the possibility for a 3rd guest to stay on a folding single bed in the livingroom.

Full bathroom with bath and electric shower.

Livingroom with full white gloss kitchen with oak countertops and appliances including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven, hob etc.

Lovely views of St. Patrick's Cathedral and the attached park, and the Iveagh Trust Buildings from the balcony. French door to balcony.

On street parking available at no charge. Please let me know when booking and I will arrange.

There are buses to the airport direct from within 5 minutes walk. The 747 (Euro 6 single, 10 return) goes to and from Dame Street/ Christchurch. The 16A (Euro 2.75 single) goes from Georges Street.

Within 10 minutes walk from the apartment:

Trinity College Dublin and The Book of Kells

St Patrick's Cathedral (try and catch a sung service)

Christchurch Cathedral and Dublinia (Viking exhibit)

Fallons Pub (your local, one of Dublin's best pubs with a lovely snug)

Collins Barracks (a good museum)

Temple Bar (mainly raucous nightlife but also some nicer options and good restaurants)

Camden Street (more hip nightlife, including microbrew pub)

St Stephens Green and Grafton Street (Dublin's premium shopping street)

Fallon & Byrne (Dublin's answer to Dean & Deluca, with a foodhall and food counter, good restaurant and great basement winebar)

Irish Film Institute: arthouse cinema, good bar and pub grub.

Less than 20 minutes walk from the apartment:

Merrion and Fitzwilliam Squares and Dublin's Georgian Quarter

The Phoenix Park (Europe's largest city park)

The Royal Hospital Kilmainham and IMMA (modern art museum)

Neighbourhood Cafes I like:

Cafe Noto: great New Yorker sandwich (toasted!), nice room. End Francis Street.
Bite of Life: Across the street from the apartment.

Fumbally: New, trendy. Very airy. Like a Berlin cafe. straight up the street from Patrick Street.

Bibis: Cute. Girls especially love it. Great for breakfast. Lombard Street, about 8 minutes away in Portobello.

Queen of Tarts, Cow's Lane: Great carrot cake, mismatched china, outside area. Craft market on Saturday.

Places I like to eat nearby:

Nede: modern Irish food with a twist. Chefs from the famous Noma restaurant in Copenhagen. Great Early Bird. Love the fish. Lunch special for Euro 15 including a glass of wine!

Odessa: restaurant and club. Love brunch, especially Smoked Chicken Quesadillas and Bloody Mary's. Strong coffee, lively atmosphere.

Crackbird: trendy fried (and grilled) chicken. Love the burnt lemon feta dip and homemade soft drinks.

Ciao Bella Roma: Italian pizzeria and trattoria. Great lunch and early bird deals. Serves pizza until very late Friday and Saturday.

The WInding Stair: modern Irish food. Great for seafood.

Joburger: best burgers and sweet potato fries. Cool outside area opposite Grogans (great pub with a mix of ould codgers and trendies and full-on nutters). Castle Market, between Georges Street and The Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.

Toffoli: Castle Street. Small but perfectly formed gourmet pizza joint.

The Bull and Castle: Great for steak. Opposite Christchurch.

Burdocks: Fish and chips, allegedly the best in the world!

Pubs/ Bars I love:

Fallons. Your local! Great traditional Dublin pub with a mix of characters.

The Globe and Rira: Pub and nightclub for if you like to dance and drink and can remember the Eighties (not just for the older ones).

No Name/ Kellys: Trendyish (or at least it was). Lovely space. Fade Street (off Georges Street).

Hogans: Classic studenty haunt.

The Long Hall: a classic Dublin pub.

The Stag's Head: another classic Dublin pub. Go on Friday and you may catch trad music session downstairs..

Grogans: always busy, great for people watching. Art for sale on the walls. Sit outside all year round.

Fallon & Byrne's winebar: great wine selection. Charcuterie and cheese etc. In the basement so you can find yourself forgetting obligations and ordering another lovely malbec or albarino :).

Interaction with Guests

I usually meet with guests, if I am at work my Dad or a friend will meet with you. I am contactable by Airbnb message, phone, email or text. I very much enjoy interacting with guests.

The Neighborhood

It is in the heart of the city centre. You can walk anywhere you want to be in a matter of minutes. I love the local pub, Fallons, and cafes, Francis St (the antiques district), St Patrick's Cathedral and park (love to hear the bells). It is very safe.

Getting around

You will not need public transport in the city centre. If you wish to go further afield, bus, train and tram are nearby. You can jog/walk/run/bike along the canal or in the Phoenix Park.

  • This is a great apartment! It is very comfortable and has everything you might need. The location is fantastic -- right across from St Patrick's cathedral and easy walking distance to all the sites in Dublin. We would definitely stay again.

  • The neighborhood and view were wonderful. The apartment needs some work (lumber boards left by entrance to balcony and faulty shades). It was wonderful to be within walking distance to the sights and grear restaurants. A few basic supplies would have been nice and perhaps paper towels. Daragh is a warm, bright host who stopped by twice...although without notice. He was flying out of town so did want to catch us.

  • Awesome location, super helpful.. Thanks for the maps & suggestions! I'd certainly come back. Cheers!

  • Daragh was an excellent host even before we arrived in Dublin. We arrived very early in the morning, but couldn't get into the apartment right away, as there were still tennants at the apartment. Daragh proposed that my wife and I keep our bags at his home, which is just a 3-minute walk away, until we checked in later in the day. This allowed us to explore Dublin a little and not waste a day since we didn't have to heave our luggage around.
The aparment is in an excellent location - walking distance to many of Dublin's main attractions, restaurants, and parks. We could walk to most of our destinations in 20 minutes or less. The apartment was clean and comfortable

  • We had such a wonderful time in Daragh's apartment. The location is perfect and walking distance to a lot of restaurants, pubs, and sites. We didn't get to meet Daragh, but check in/out were easy and he was great with communication. We had everything we needed and his recommendations were great. We especially fell in love with the local pub Fallon's. Best Guinness you'll ever have. Would definitely recommend to friends. Thanks again, Daragh!

  • The apartment was everything we could have wanted for our introduction to Dublin. We were welcomed by Darragh's father, Mike, who gave us lots of useful information. The apartment was clean, cosy and convenient. Recommended.

Hello. I am a mid thirties professional living in Dublin city centre, I have lived abroad and love to travel. My interests include cooking, cinema, reading and spending time with friends. I love having people over for dinner and meeting new people. I also love eating out. Of the places I have visited for pleasure, I especially loved Brazil, Laos and Japan. I love all of Italy and New York City. I love reading anything set in India. My monthly book club is something I really look forward to. I have really enjoyed meeting new people through Airbnb. I am pretty passionate about Dublin, and like to share all the places that I think are special with visitors. Dubliners can be the most friendly people in the world!
