The location in the south city centre is the best for culture, shopping and sightseeing. Details below.

It is the best place in Dublin to watch the St. Patrick's Day Parade!

One large bedroom with queen size bed and plenty of wardrobe space, including pull out shoe storage, drawers and hanging storage. French door to balcony.

There is also the possibility for a 3rd guest to stay on a folding single bed in the livingroom.

There are buses to the airport direct from within 5 minutes walk. The 747 (Euro 6 single, 10 return) goes to and from Dame Street/ Christchurch. The 16A (Euro 2.75 single) goes from Georges Street.

Within 10 minutes walk from the apartment:

Trinity College Dublin and The Book of Kells

St Patrick's Cathedral (try and catch a sung service)

Christchurch Cathedral and Dublinia (Viking exhibit)

Fallons Pub (your local, one of Dublin's best pubs with a lovely snug)

Collins Barracks (a good museum)

Temple Bar (mainly raucous nightlife but also some nicer options and good restaurants)

Camden Street (more hip nightlife, including microbrew pub)

St Stephens Green and Grafton Street (Dublin's premium shopping street)

Fallon & Byrne (Dublin's answer to Dean & Deluca, with a foodhall and food counter, good restaurant and great basement winebar)

Irish Film Institute: arthouse cinema, good bar and pub grub.

Less than 20 minutes walk from the apartment:

Merrion and Fitzwilliam Squares and Dublin's Georgian Quarter

The Phoenix Park (Europe's largest city park)

The Royal Hospital Kilmainham and IMMA (modern art museum)

Neighbourhood Cafes I like:

Cafe Noto: great New Yorker sandwich (toasted!), nice room. End Francis Street.
Bite of Life: Across the street from the apartment.

Fumbally: New, trendy. Very airy. Like a Berlin cafe. straight up the street from Patrick Street.

Bibis: Cute. Girls especially love it. Great for breakfast. Lombard Street, about 8 minutes away in Portobello.

Queen of Tarts, Cow's Lane: Great carrot cake, mismatched china, outside area. Craft market on Saturday.

Places I like to eat nearby:

Nede: modern Irish food with a twist. Chefs from the famous Noma restaurant in Copenhagen. Great Early Bird. Love the fish. Lunch special for Euro 15 including a glass of wine!

Odessa: restaurant and club. Love brunch, especially Smoked Chicken Quesadillas and Bloody Mary's. Strong coffee, lively atmosphere.

Crackbird: trendy fried (and grilled) chicken. Love the burnt lemon feta dip and homemade soft drinks.

Ciao Bella Roma: Italian pizzeria and trattoria. Great lunch and early bird deals. Serves pizza until very late Friday and Saturday.

The WInding Stair: modern Irish food. Great for seafood.

Joburger: best burgers and sweet potato fries. Cool outside area opposite Grogans (great pub with a mix of ould codgers and trendies and full-on nutters). Castle Market, between Georges Street and The Powerscourt Townhouse Centre.

Toffoli: Castle Street. Small but perfectly formed gourmet pizza joint.

The Bull and Castle: Great for steak. Opposite Christchurch.

Burdocks: Fish and chips, allegedly the best in the world!

Pubs/ Bars I love:

Fallons. Your local! Great traditional Dublin pub with a mix of characters.

The Globe and Rira: Pub and nightclub for if you like to dance and drink and can remember the Eighties (not just for the older ones).

No Name/ Kellys: Trendyish (or at least it was). Lovely space. Fade Street (off Georges Street).

Hogans: Classic studenty haunt.

The Long Hall: a classic Dublin pub.

The Stag's Head: another classic Dublin pub. Go on Friday and you may catch trad music session downstairs..

Grogans: always busy, great for people watching. Art for sale on the walls. Sit outside all year round.

Fallon & Byrne's winebar: great wine selection. Charcuterie and cheese etc. In the basement so you can find yourself forgetting obligations and ordering another lovely malbec or albarino :).

Guest access

This listing is for full use of the apartment: livingroom, kitchen, bedroom and bathroom, plus balcony with view on to the park. The entrance gate is located just inside the archway on Patrick Street, to the left coming from Patrick Street.

Interaction with guests

Either myself or Edgar usually meet with guests, if we are unavailable or travelling we will arrange for someone familiar with the apartment and Dublin to meet with you. I am contactable by Airbnb message, phone, email or text. I very much enjoy interacting with guests. Where there is a problem with the listing, I am a firm believer that 'quickest shared, soonest mended.'

Other things to note

The heating is updated to a German efficient system. It works on a thermostat - there is no need to leave it on 24 hours, the apartment will heat up very quickly.
The apartment is located on a busy street in the city centre and there is of course some street noise.

Wonderful location for site seeing. St. Patrick's Cathedral and adjacent park are right across the street. Plenty of food options. Easy access to the Hop-on-Hop-off buses. Daragh and Edgar are great. Daragh returned all my communications fast. I was very nervous to figure out how to find the place and parking but he made it easy. No worries at all. We parked our rental when we got there and didn't drive again until we left, walked and bussed to everything. Parking pass is included in the stay. If you are like us, we are from the country with no traffic noise, the traffic at night might disturb your sleep a bit but the trade off was just fine in our opinion. The hourly church bells to us were wonderful and not disturbing as they aren't that loud. Daragh also made many recommendations for food/restaurants. Highly recommend this Air B&B. This was our first experience and we are very happy. Thanks Daragh.

Superb, central location. Close enough to be walkable anywhere in the city , but not too touristy. Daragh had very helpful suggestions with our lost luggage issues from our flight, as well! Thx again!

This place is in a great location, central to a lot of different points in Dublin. It's has a charmy feel to it, and a great view of St. Patrick's from the balcony. It's a nice alternative to a hotel. I would definitely recommend staying here.

The location of this apartment is great! We had a 48 hour hop-on-hop-off bus tour which picked up just a two minute walk down the street, and was very convenient. I would definitely recommend this tour if you want to see many popular locations and sights in Dublin, many of which you can get off at and then get back on when the next bus comes around. If you can get on a bus with live commentary it's an even better experience! We walked pretty much everywhere once our 48 hours was up, and nothing was more than a 20 minute walk. We did not receive any restaurant recommendations as Edgar, who checked us in, had an emergency at home and was unable to stay long. However, everywhere we went there was great food! Many of the pubs we went to at night had live music which was a fun experience. We went to the Bite of Life Cafe across the street the morning we were leaving and they had a great selections of sandwiches, treats, and other smaller items. We also enjoyed the Guinness Storehouse tour-even more amazing than I imagined and I'm not even a fan of beer. The Jameson Distillery tour did not seem nearly as popular as Guinness; however, we really enjoyed ourselves there as well! If you have a time, definitely take a day trip to the Wicklow Mountains. We booked through City Sightseeing, which is also the same company we used for our hop-on-hop-off bus tour, and we had the same guide who was both very funny and knowledgeable. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Dublin and will definitely be coming back! We weren't in the apartment very often, but enjoyed the time that we were.

Hello. I am a mid thirties professional living in Dublin city centre, I have lived abroad and love to travel. My interests include cooking, cinema, reading and spending time with friends. I love having people over for dinner and meeting new people. I also love eating out.

Of the places I have visited for pleasure, I especially loved Bali, Brazil, Bolivia, Laos and Japan. I really enjoy meeting people when I travel she getting local recommendations. I love all of Italy and New York City. I love reading anything set in India. My monthly book club is something I really look forward to.

I have really enjoyed meeting new people through Airbnb. I am pretty passionate about Dublin, and like to share all the places that I think are special with visitors. Dubliners can be the most friendly people in the world!
