This newly renovated space is ski in- ski out; requiring guests who are comfortable with off-grid logistics; outhouse, propane, generator etc. The cabin is situated in a private location with a phenomenal view. We use it most holidays; but there are still some dates available -We will not be adding any more for this ski season. Guests must bring their own drinking water, sheets and pillow cases leaving as it was found. While it sleeps 10, the living space is comfortable for 6.

The space
After a 5 minute hike in, walk in to a covered porch where you will find snow shovels and a cargo sled to bring up your gear. Turn on the propane, start the pilot lights and make a fire. If you plan to use the generator (lighting, mattress heaters, TV etc) you need to bring your own generator gas- please discuss with hosts prior. Once you've brought up all of your gear, move your vehicle to the overnight parking area.

The cabin features a 16 x 16 ft great room including table, chairs, kitchen area and living area with new couch and 2 fire-side chairs and central wood stove. A water pot is kept on the wood stove for washing up- load with snow after each dish washing. If you prefer not to use the generator (it is much quieter & more peaceful without) there are also rechargeable lanterns in the cabin.

Above the main cabin is a 16 x 8 ft loft area accessed by trap door and ladder. It is 4 ft at the highest with sloping roof to 2 ft. There are 2 new double mattresses with mattress protectors and memory foam pillows and feather duvets. Guests must bring their own sheets and pillow cases. This area is great for kids.

Our custom Art and Soul handmade pottery dishes can be carefully used and there is a full kitchen set up for guest use. Dishes can be done using a basin on the counter top with water heated on the wood stove (snow melt in winter; rain water in summer). Grey water can be emptied into the outdoor sink on the porch were a BBQ is also set up. Perishable foods are stored in coolers- best to bring your own; though one is also available to use. Coffee, tea, hot chocolate, cooking oils, salt and pepper, dish soap, toilet paper and hand sanitizer are provided. Kitchen linens including cloth napkins, dish cloths and dish towels are provided.

Just off of the great room is a wood box with kindling and paper. Above are cleaning supplies including mop and bucket, brooms, and vacuum (if you are using the generator).

Kitty corner is a bedroom with new queen mattress on bottom bunk and double above protected by mattress covers. Feather duvets are provided but guests must bring their own sheets and pillow cases.

Rates will be $150 for off season and Monday nights in December / January (see the Hudson Bay Mountain Calendar regarding opening dates) $200 for ski season & $220 for weekend nights- based on planned opening dates. We won't reimburse if the hill is closed for any reason- you can always occupy yourselves playing games, exploring the area, back country skiing, Mountain Biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, or curling up by the fire with a book. An extra charge of $40/ extra adult over 2 will be added. We will not charge for kids (under 18)- just only note the number of adults when you make your booking. The cabin is romantic for 2; perfect for a family and fun for a small group of friends.

We do have a small hypoallergenic dog who comes to the cabin with us.

There is a small TV which requires the generator. It has an Apple compatible dongle and HDMI input.
03/05/2021: We have just added wifi- you need to run the generator to use it and password is on the modem.

Covid rules require that we have a list of all guests including kids as well as their contact info; also due to covid concerns, we will be limiting our guests to BC residents for now.

We would like to rent our cabin to responsible people who will treat the space with care and respect; hoping to build up a regular clientele. We do not want guests looking for a party scene. We are going to keep the "autobook" setting off for now so that we can discuss the ins and outs of the cabin with guests prior to confirmation of booking.

Our cabin is quite secluded - you can't see any other cabins from inside. You can put on your skis and ski right to the Prairie T-bar though you need to hike up a bit to come back up. The Sidewinder run takes you over to the Lodge with Wiskey Jack pub and the ski rental area.

I love small town living and having the great out doors so accessible. I started hosting in 2019 when we bought a ski cabin and didn’t want my beautiful home on the lake sitting empty while at my second property. We've traveled the world with our family and appreciate the benefits of this style of accommodations. We do our best to make your stay as enjoyable as possible and trust that you will treat our home/ cabin with care and respect. I’m off site when the house/ cabin are rented but easily reachable by cell phone.
