The Space

Bright, cozy, spacious one-bedroom in the heart of Park Slope. (New York Magazine's "Best Neighborhood in NYC!") Available Thanksgiving Weekend: November 28th - December 2nd. The perfect Brooklyn haven for an NYC adventure--an easy stroll to various Brooklyn gems and an easy train or cab ride to Manhattan. The private apartment has a cozy living room with TV, DVD & Wii, a big bedroom with a comfortable not-too-soft not-too-firm queen sized bed (no complaints, only praise), a snug study with a desk and a cord attached to speakers so you can play your own music off a laptop or Ipod, a bright cheerful kitchen with a fire escape, and a bathroom. Also, amazing restaurants, bars, coffee shops, and boutiques are within steps from the front door, and the glorious Prospect Park is a few blocks up the street. Subway trains are right on the corner, ready to shoot you anywhere you want to go! Couples great; regret no pets.

  • Matthew was a perfect host! He was out of town for our whole stay, so we never got to meet him in person, but he mailed us his keys and a couple pages of instructions and recommendations well ahead of time. His thoughtfulness made our trip totally seamless. The apartment itself is fantastic: the location can't be beat (steps from the R train and from tons of great bars/restaurants/shops), and the space was ideal for my boyfriend and me. Matthew also has awesome taste--the apartment is full of books, art, and cool details. Seriously, an A+ experience.

  • Matthew is a gracious and accommodating host. My parents came to visit on a holiday weekend with very short notice, and Matthew was very responsive and helped us get things all squared away. His apartment is in a great location, is extremely clean, and comfortable. My parents loved it, so thanks Matthew! We highly recommend staying with him.

  • Matthew is a great host - he was very accommodating with our late night check-in and even had two beers waiting for us in the fridge. The apartment is clean and very large for two people. We didn't end up cooking, but we could have. Furthermore, the subway is just outside and the attractions of Park Slope are half a block away.

  • My parents stayed in Matthew's wonderful home for the weekend. The place is lovingly decorated, and full of nice touches, such as chocolates on the pillows. The location is great, and my parents really enjoyed their stay. Highly recommended.

  • Matthew was great and the apartment was perfect for my Mom and Sister. I smiled every time we passed the Holiday Inn Express two blocks away that runs $250 a night and appears on the NYC bed bug registry.

  • We had a great stay at Matthew's place. It was incredibly convenient, clean and well kept. Dealing with Matthew was easy and efficient. The only thing we regretted was that it was such a short trip.

  • Very charming appartement, quiet, luminous. It was a real pleasure to stay at this place. The neighborhood is great, Park Slope and Caroll Gardens in walking distance.
Thanks to Matthew who was a great host : he welcomed me at his place before leaving, with explications and suggestions of place to eat or drink.
I would like to come back !

  • Very nice apartment in a somewhat run down building. Neighborhood is fun and safe and very close to subway (2 min walk). Matt is a great host and provided us with sheets, towels, printed instructions/suggestions for restaurants. My only complaint is the heat management. Basically, its too hot in the winter due to an old heating system. But you can open a window and regulate the heat that way. Overall, a good experience.

  • my parents stayed at matthew’s for 10days over the holidays and had an awesome time. i also live in brooklyn but wanted to find a separate place for them to stay comfortably and have their own privacy.

matthew is super nice, attentive and communicative. the apartment is cozy, bright and very interesting. if you enjoy reading and appreciate literature and art, then you will feel at home.

in addition the apartment is located in one of my favorite neighborhoods of brooklyn and surrounded by great places to eat, bars and only half a block from the train stop :)
