GLASTONBURY FESTIVAL INFO - sorry but i cannot take bookings for the festival until next year. Please contact me in the Spring or nearer to June. Thanks!
My house is on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet - next to fields overlooking Glastonbury Tor in the distance.
The house has all mod cons - wi-fi, kitchen, living room, bathroom, nice conservatory, small sunny garden and parking space. I have one double room and one single room. The double is £27/night and the single £17/night (both include breakfast). I have no pets but this house is animal friendly! so i don't mind if you have pets to bring with you (as long as its not a snake!!).
Nearby attractions include Glastonbury itself, Wells Cathedral, Street and Clarks Village shopping outlets. The city of Bath is 20mins drive away and Bristol is 40mins. There are also good local bus and train services - National Express coaches stop in Shepton. The nearest train station is Castle Cary (for London connections and elsewhere). I can pick up/drop off from this station very easily.
I enjoy travelling and therefore love to meet and accommodate people from all over the world. I can speak French and a little Italian and my cooking is edible!
consideration and respect towards me and any others staying in my house.
Also no smoking INSIDE the house but anywhere OUTSIDE is fine - ashtrays and umbrellas available!
Kitchen access - if you need to use the kitchen to prepare any meals during your stay just let me know in advance.
Staying at Jany's was a haven - in a week when winter kicked in and I had a rotten cold. Jany was warm, welcoming, v helpful and her house was warm and comfortable and quiet. She was super generous and offered me dinner one night when I came in late from work in the cold. I was v impressed by her set up and would definitely stay there again. It is excellent value for money. Thanks Jany!
Jany was a very gracious host. Her house was very clean and the room was comfortable and cozy. She had good suggestions and brochures about nearby sites to visit. Her house is conveniently located near a bus stop and an easy walk to the groceries stores.
She supported us with some transportation needs when it arose.
We really enjoyed staying with her.
It was exactly what we needed during our fortnight in England.
Jany was very welcoming on arrival, I was made to feel like I was at home. The room was very clean & comfortable. She directed me to the local pub which is within in walking distance of her place. Will definitely stay again when in the area. Highly recommended A****
Jany is the perfect host. Funny, kind and welcoming. She is sincerely generous. I am extremely grateful for her kindness. She was so helpful: has offered great advices for every trip I need to do; many times has carried me up with his car when I was in trouble. Last but not least, has introduced me to the delicious english cooking! House also, is lovely: comfortable, tidy and clean. The village is in a smart position to explore the beautiful countryside of Somerset, or reach Glastonbury and Wells. If you are hanging around South West, I would highly recommend to stay with Jany. You made me feel at home, Jany, thank you!
Great host, as helpful as it gets, gave me a lift to an evening event, posted back something I left behind. Room clean & sunny, comfy bed. I'll be staying again
Jany was a great host, friendly and helpful. The house and the area were lovely, I would recommend staying here
I used to work as an Occupational Therapist - recently i took time out, bought a large van and drove it to Italy to help on a farm picking olives! Now i am back in my house working part-time and enjoying my house and garden. I love theatre, seeing live music and I love meeting new people from all over the world (hence why I enjoy travelling as well as escaping the miserable english weather!).
My motto - 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you' so if you came to stay at my house you would receive a warm welcome in comfortable surroundings and I would do my best to ensure your stay is as fun and interesting as possible.
