My well equipped flat is in the peaceful and pretty garden behind my 100 year old Federation cottage with a view of Mt Wellington. The comfy bed will be made with good quality bed linen, extra pillows and towels are provided. The kitchenette has a microwave, a hotplate, 2 electric frying pans, a sandwich toaster, a regular toaster and an electric saucepan plus an exhaust fan. In the quietness and privacy of the garden you would never guess you are so close to a busy area. There is a bus stop just outside the gate and the local shopping centre with supermarkets, banks, post office, laundromat and all the usual shops is 3 or 4 minutes walk away and it's little more than 5 minutes to the university. A short walk can have you at the water's edge and see the majesty of the Derwent River and one of the many marinas on the river. If you don't wish to cook there are plenty of reasonably priced eateries and take-aways just a couple of minutes down the street. Take your pick from Italian, Chinese, Japanese, Indian or Australian.
The city of Hobart is just a 10 to 15 minute walk or a quick bus trip.
Historic Battery Point and Salamanca Place are very close by and are delightful to wander around and shop or explore the lovely coffee shops. Every Saturday there is a world class market at Salamanca so I'd suggest you put that on your 'to do' list.
The flat is very clean and compact and has everything you would need. There is a double bed in a separate bedroom with plenty of storage, a sitting room with flat screen TV, DVD player, wi-fi ,international adapters, and a well equipped small kitchenette . The bathroom has a shower,a small bath, heater, fan and hairdryer.
Guests are welcome to use the outdoor setting and barbecue when the weather is suitable.Free parking is available directly outside the property..
The unit is available for bookings of 3 nights or more. It is serviced weekly. I always have the basics of salt and pepper, sugar, tea, coffee. cooking oil , spices etc in the pantry.
We loved the cute cottage. Perfect size for two and a great location. Upon Arrival we were greeted by Judith, a smile, information about the cottage, flowers in the 3 rooms, some food in the fridge to get us until the next day. We felt comfortable there and loved the ability to grill outside as well as sit with a glass of wine at the table outside of our door. Highly recommended for a couple. A great host with a women's touch!

We stayed at Judith's place for four nights on our trip around Tasmania. The place itself is just perfect - everything you would need - and done with style. The location is close to local shops, restaurants etc but also knly 10-15 walk into the port area (ferry to MONA etc). We thoroughly enjoyed Hobart and staying at Judith's made it better!
We enjoyed our stay in Judith's unit. The extra touches were appreciated.
A small but very comfortable accommodation in a great location. It was very well stocked with everything you could possibly need. It was perfect for what I needed, thanks Judith .
Judith's granny-flat was clean, tidy and comfortable. It is in a great location close enough to walk to Battery Point, Salamanca, and the city.
I had a great stay in Judith's unit and it is so close to everything. I really felt like I was at home and it had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I would return again to this great little unit and want to thank Judith for her fantastic hospitality. Highly recommended.
Judith's compact little cottage was comfortable. We enjoyed the outlook on to the garden, the privacy and the food goods left for us, including a home baked slice! The bed was comfortable and the shower spectacular.
Had the weather been better we would have done a lot more walking from this convenient location. We still had a great time exploring Hobart and appreciated Judith's efforts.
I am writing this review in behalf of my parents-in-law. They enjoyed their stay in Judith's cosy accommodation. They said that everything was very clean and well-presented with many thoughtful extras provided. The aspect they enjoyed the most was the lovely ambience of the cottage. Thank you Judith.
Thanks Judith for providing such a lovely place to stay on our baby moon! We stayed at Judith's cute granny flat in mid September, 2013, and it was such a lovely, homey place to retire to after our days out. The bed was really comfy, I was 33 weeks pregnant and slept like a log! The small touches around the place is what really set it apart for us- you wouldn't get these extras at a hotel. Things like- some bread, eggs and condiments, interesting reading material, and a decent hairdryer and proper body wash!
It really was a home away from home, we were really comfortable, and it wasn't too far from Salamanca market area.
We weren't sure what to expect from such a affordable price, but it went beyond our expectations! We will NEVER stay in another hotel after this experience at Judith's place, and the great online service through Air BNB.
Thanks Judith! Jo and Matt
Great little apartment in sandy bay. Really cosy and warm. Just what we needed. Only a 10-15 min walk to the harbour and cafes and shops of gorgeous hobart. Highly recommend.
