The Space

@@@ this is a 4th floor walk up, but we have staff in the office to help with your bags and the 4th floor means it is very quiet and no one is above you! Plus the bedroom is in the back of the building and very quiet!@@@

This is a one bedroom with a queen bed in the bedroom, a twin daybed with trundle twin mattress and twin futon in the living area. Easily sleeps 5-6. An air mattress is available for a sixth, but it would be tight in living room, but can put the futon or air mattress in the bedroom. I also have a pack n play available on request for an extra $20.

A great eat in kitchen. The kitchen is newly remodeled with a new stove, fridge and microwave! There is a window seat in the kitchen and two barstools.

A gorgeous one bedroom apartment in the same building as a prominent philadelphia management company. The building is very secure! A block from Rittenhouse Square and close to everything! Minutes from 30th street by taxi. A bus runs right down locust to the historic areas in old city! Lots of nearby amenities like 7-eleven, a great produce market ( maxx's), and excellent beer store ( food and friends), and several restaurants minutes from your doorstep! Like the new implant of new york's shake shack!

This is a great apartment in the nicest area of Philadelphia on one of the best blocks! Close to everything! Everything is simply at your doorstep a few minutes by walking, a bus ride, cab ride, or quick hop on the trolley!

Enjoy the cable tv on the flat screen in the living room after a day of taking the sights!

The kitchen has a full size gas oven with 4 burners, and plenty of pots/pans for cooking. A small coffee pot and we have coffee in the fridge! Two (email hidden) and a comfy window seat. Great green grocer nearby for filling up the fridge! The living room has a day bed with trundle. Two new twin beds for sleeping in the living room! The living room has a separate window a/c and ceiling fan. The linen closet has storage for your suitcases. Lots of towels, extra pillows, sheets and pillowcases! The bedroom has a brand new queen pillow top bed. It's lovely to sleep on. Plenty of pillows too. The bedroom has a wall a/c and a ceiling fan. two large closets for hanging clothes as well. The bathroom is small but well equipped with a small tub/shower.

All of my properties are available long term from one month to 2 years. Please ask about discounted long term stays.

Iron. ironing board, hair dryer and sound machine available upon request 24hrs before your stay.

Pack n play portable crib, must be requested at booking.

  • The apartment was lovely - many original features (moldings, hardwood floors). Very clean. Not even a spot of dust. Excellent location. Very quiet. The whole process was very easy - Andrea was easy to reach, instructions were clear. The bed was super comfy. We'd definitely return for a longer stay.

    Response from Andrea:

We just did work on one of the third floor so the hallways are going to be cleaned and repainted this fall/winter. I'm so glad you found it to be clean and said so in your review!

  • I loved Philly! Small studio very close to various tourist sities (we went walking everywhere) and near lots of transportation. Though I didn't get a chance to meet Andrea in person, she provided all the information I need to get access, feel comfortable and welcomed in her home. It is difficult to park in the street but we were lucky because we arrived in the weekend. Have in mind it is a 4th floor with no elevator.

    Response from Andrea:

This is not a studio. It is a large one bedroom.

  • Perfectly accurate description of the accommodation. The location was great, just a short walk to Rittenhouse Square shops and restaurants. Andrea was very easy to contact and answered any queries promptly. I would not hesitate to recommend or use her again.

  • Andrea was a great communicator, even when we emailed her on weekends. The apartments was perfect for us and the location couldn't have been better. The apartment was acceptably clean if not spotless. It's not a 4-star hotel, folks. It's an apartment. Set your expectations accordingly. We loved the window nook in the kitchen. The kitchen was great but the multitude of food choices within a few minutes walk had us eating out all of the time. We used the bedroom, the couch and the trundle bed under the coach to sleep 3 people. All very comfortable and clean. It may not be perfect for everyone (4th floor walk-up, only access to bathroom is through bedroom for guests sleeping on couch) but if it's a fit it's great!

  • I told Andrea i might not arrive till 10pm, but the check in time is 3pm, I arrived around 4pm well after check in time. Andrea was present in downstairs office just starting to get the linens ready for my apartment. I went up to a filthy apartment, It would have taken all day to bring the apartment up to livable standards. The worst was the bathroom. Broken tiles, ants all over bathroom floor, thick black mold all around the tub grout. instead of the fresh clean image of bedroom, there was a dirty dark comforter on bed and a red sheet/rag tacked over window. Furniture in living room was dirty. I left, telling Andrea I would hope to get a refund for gross misrepresentation of the apartment. Because of this experience I have cancelled another reservation i had for september with another host in Philadelphia because i can't trust that images and apartment description are a true representation

    Response from Andrea:

First off I do not own a red sheet and nothing of the sort was tacked over the window. We have dark navy blue curtains in the bedroom and bamboo blinds in the living area. Joyce told me 10pm and I would have had the apt cleaned by 10pm if she gave me the chance. The bathroom has since been newly grouted, but it did not have thick black mold. I don't know how Joyce could remember these things as she was in the apt for less than 10 minutes. I have never experienced such a guest in 5 years. If you look at my other reviews you will see that this apartment is enjoyed by other guests.

  • This was our firts Airbnb experience. We stayed twpo nights in Philly. The location was great, near Rittenhouse square. It was a four story walk-up and there was construction going on on the 3rd floor. We were gone most of the time so it didn't matter too much, but the apartment has no outdoor sitting spot and is kind of stuffy and a bit moldy. It was clean enough, not exactly spic and span.
We never met the host, which was fine, she was dealing with a family emergency. On our last morning we opened a drawer and discovered a book about Philadelphia, it would have been nice to know it was there and have had some neighborhood dining suggestions.

    Response from Andrea:

The apartment does have a bench out front that you may sit on, Rittenhouse Square is also a block away.

Airbnb has become a large part of my life in the past three years! I'm so enthusiastic about it my sister is now a host! It's a great way to live like a local. I have a range of properties from luxe to bargain. I'm also always happy to help with any questions! I also offer bargains for long term stays and repeat guests! I have been interviewed for articles on airbnb in slate, open forum, and featured in apartment therapy. I'(email hidden) who has lived in Tokyo, DC and the Pine barrens. I have traveled all over. My favorites are Hong Kong, Mexico City, Toronto, and Maine. I have lived in Philadelphia since 2002. I grew up visiting Philly as well. So, I know all the touristy stuff along with the cool stuff. I know the best places to eat in Philly. I know the places to miss as well! I'm a prolific yelper... (website hidden)_n(phone number hidden).html
