  • My boyfriend and I just returned from a wonderful stay at Casa Dharma in San Miguel Allende. We're veteran visitors to San Miguel and absolutely loved the location and setting of the apartment. It was beautifully situated in a quiet part of town, yet strategically located a very short walk from everything we wanted to do, whether it was eating gorditas at the Sunday organic market, eating and shopping in the center of town or sipping tequila at the Fat Mermaid bar.

Patricia (email hidden). We didn't reach out for her help, but knew she would have been there if we did. The apartment was more than perfect for two people. The photos in the listing illustrate it perfectly. We wish we could have stayed longer to cook a meal or two in the kitchen and enjoy the rooftop terrace—the view was amazing!

We love the dogs, Pima & Kali. They checked up on us all the time and were so lovely and friendly.

Obviously, our trip was too short and we can't wait to go back!

  • Up in the trees, just above the tight, bustling cobblestone streets of San Miguel, is quiet Casa Dharma. Patricia has (email hidden) decked out in lush greenery where a couple of sweet dogs meet you at the gate every time you return. I won't lie, the 3 or 4 minutes' walk up that steep private road can be strenuous after a day of shopping and site seeing. But once you're there, you're in an environment you won't find in the hotels at the bottom of the hill. The roof deck (email hidden) to have your coffee and a view.

Patricia was exceedingly helpful when, for instance, we were late for a wedding; and she was accommodating in other unexpected ways. She clearly enjoys having guests.

  • Patricia's place in San Miguel was exactly what we needed. It was comfortable and suited out needs. We were able to cook breakfast in the mornings and watch sun sets from the upper deck in the evening. The house is about a 15 minute walk from the main square and only 5 minutes from the town's large park.

On our arrival we watched a wonderful wedding march in the street, then were treated to fireworks in one of San Miguel's many celebrations. The next weekend there was a new festival and more celebrations. It was an international festival with music and dancers in the square.

The people were friendly, pleasant and eager to practice their English. It made everything much easier to negotiate.

  • Amazing! Less quirky than the pictures suggest....truly a gem! Very comfortable beds. Our three year old still talks about them. Highly recommended. If you have mobility issues the walk up from town could be an issue but otherwise it is a pleasant short walk.

  • Casa Dharma was in a gorgeous location. We liked being in a gated compound and loved the doggies. Unfortunately our host, Patricia, was out of town, so we didn't get to meet her. Her daughter, Christina, was there, however, and was very helpful in finding us a spa and letting us use the computer to make hotel reservations.

The grounds were kept very clean. The gardener comes 3 times a week. The interior, however, while adequate, is in need of a deep cleaning. If you don't mind staying in your son's dorm room, it won't bother you.

  • Casa Dharma is spacious and homey, in a lovely and quiet compound, and Patricia is enormously gracious. My friend and I arrived at 9 pm, headed back out for dinner and managed to misplace our keys, so had to disturb her after 11, but she took it in stride. We may not have discovered this gorgeous neighborhood with its beautiful Parque Juarez, if not staying at Casa Dharma. The one drawback, in December, is lack of heat. But we spent very little daytime "at home." There are space heaters, and once we mastered warming up the bedrooms, we were fine. For most of the year I suspect this is not a problem. Enjoy!

  • We enjoyed our stay at Casa Dharma, it is a beautiful apartment with great furnishings. The only down side to our stay was the cold and rainy weather but we made the most of our time in San Miguel.

Patricia (email hidden), she helped us get a propane heater going to keep us from being too cold. It was also a nice touch to provide drinking water and fresh fruit.

We would love to come back in the future, in the warmer months.
