Interaction with Guests
I live on the property and love assisting my guests in whatever they may need. I aim to be invisibly available. I can also help you plan personal retreats.
Our location is very special. We are tucked away on a cul-de-sac. Close enough to the action yet removed just enough to provide a sense of spaciousness.
There are taxis and buses available throughout town.
Please let us know in advance when you will be arriving so that we can figure out the best way to get you the keys. Please be respectful of others in the compound. It is OK to party but do so quietly after 12 am. Please lock all doors when you leave the building. If you lose your keys please let us know immediately.
Wonderful location and a lovely property. We received a friendly welcome from our host. The two bedrooms were well-appointed and clean. The kitchen was well equipped and clean, but we did not use it very much as we dined out most days. The bathroom was adequate but the door did not close properly and the showerhead needs replacing. The entire apartment need a high cleaning or at least dusting. We had a wonderful visit and would certainly stay there again.
Great location and property. Patricia was responsive and easy to get in touch with.
We had a most enjoyable experience staying at Patricia's home. We arrived late at night and she stayed up to greet us and make us feel welcome. Her home is centrally located in town so we were able to walk everywhere. Bring good walking shoes as the house is up a hill and the streets are all cobblestone. We ate out every night at the wonderful restaurants and actually lost weight from all of the walking. San Miguel is a safe, beautiful and charming town. The amenities were comfortable and she was available to answer any questions we had about the area. The house was cool in the evening even with the heaters so bring slippers. We would definitely go back. Thank you Patricia for a wonderful experience.
Our stay at Dharma was very pleasant. The space is just beautiful with a cultural feel. Fruit and water was provided as well as gas heaters which made it very comfortable esp in the colder evening/nights. Our 4 legged guards and companions, Kali and Pema were so sweet! They were a bonus on our stay here. The house is located about 5 blocks away from the center, which gave it a more quiet peaceful surrounding, since it seems the city center can be loud since we could hear the music and fireworks when we up on the rooftop terrace. Patrica was a sweet lady and greeted us with hugs. Would stay here again if back in town.
Our host met us at casa dharma when we arrived. She was very flexible about our check in/check out times. She showed us around the house, told us where we could find things, what we'd need to know, how to reach her. She came over as needed to help us with things (opening the futon couch, starting the gas heater, etc.) The rooms were spacious, the beds were comfortable, the house was clean and well stocked (plenty of dishes, blankets, bottled water). It's in a pretty good location, about 20 minutes mostly level walk to the center square. It's kind of set back on a private road, not really in the middle of a neighborhood. We were comfortable walking to and from there at various times of day. The dogs are very friendly. It worked well for our family.
Casa Dharma is an interesting place to stay when in San Miguel. It's located in a quiet neighborhood not too far away from the city centre. Owner Patricia is very nice and helpful and we felt very welcome. Totally recommendable!
This is a nice place to stay. It gives you the feeling of a private home away from the crowd while still giving you easy access to the town. Your hosts, Patricia and Shane, live on the property and are available to make sure you have what you need for a comfortable stay. The two dogs are friendly and come around often. There's lots of natural light in the apartment and a great view from the roof. I would recommend this over a hotel for a trip to SMA. The only caveat would be if you don't care for dogs or plan on doing a bit of walking and have trouble navigating uneven hills. For us, not an issue but for some it might be, though cabs can cheaply assist if you're tired or carrying a lot of groceries. The two house dogs roam freely and will greet you on your return as you take a deep breath and enjoy some rest and a nice bath at your little home away from home.
