We had an incredible time a Chalet la Mar. Yves helped us plan every detail of our stay, from the taxi from the airport, to our first meal, to our car rental. When we arrived in St. Lucia we were greeted by our taxi driver who took us around Laborie and picked some mangoes for us. Once we arrived at Chalet la Mar, a lady named Evelyn met us and showed us around, she was so incredibly helpful and provided us with any information we needed. The cabin itself is just what has been described. It has a magical view and the most perfect breeze. There's a beautiful balcony that overlooks a rocky little beach. The cabin is at the top of several hills, allowing for a great deal of privacy but is only a five minute walk into town. In Laborie we found several delicious places to eat or to buy groceries for nights we felt like eating in (there is a gas stove top and a fridge). The town if very laid back and we really enjoyed exploring it. Overall we had the best time in St. Lucia, and Chalet la Mar was a huge part of that. We can't recommend it highly enough!!

I had a lovely vacation at the chalet. Enjoyed the view, the fresh air, the sounds of the sea, the birds, crickets or other creatures (VERY loud at night!), rain on the roof. The steep walk from the village up was a bit much for me, but if you are a bit younger and not so much overweight, it is probably quite doable. ;) I did not get to meet Yves, but he had arranged everything perfectly and Evelyne took very good care of me, she checked in every few days to see if I needed anything. And usually she then also brought me some fresh fruit (mango, soursop) straight from the wild. Loved it!

Magical. A place to leave all your problems behind and be completely one with experiencing island time. Being a New Yorker, I am all too used to the hustle of life. Yves laid back attitude and attentive ways were well welcomed. Island time in St.Lucia left me forgetting New York even existed and I will be happy to return if I feel the City life becoming too overwhelming. A few tips, stock up on food before you arrive on the way from the airport. Also, the restaurant I tried was Mama Tilly's and it's wise to place your order during the day to pick it up by 5;30-6:30pm. Last but not least, the noises of the night are quite loud, I found them relaxing (much better than garbage trucks in the middle of the night, lol), but some may wish to bring ear plugs. Enjoy!

Yves's Chalet is exactly as the pictures show it. View is absolutely amazing, house is quite simple but comfortable, and the little fishermen's village in which it's situated is very quite but full of charm with warm and welcoming people. If you're looking for a peaceful holiday, away from the resorts, this is perfect. You'll need a car to move around and explore though. Yves is extremely available and reactive, helping us with anything we need. You'll be in good hands. Thank you again !

There is not much that I can say that has not been said before- Amazing! We drove up north one day and I could not wait to get back to the calm and beauty of the south. The people we met were so kind and open, made you feel welcome. Love the Reef and Nicki in Dennery has a beautiful view! Would love to go back and stay with Yves.

This was our (my fiancé and I) first trip to anywhere tropical, and it couldn't be more perfect. We decided to stay in Laborie, as we wanted something extremely chill and away from tourists. And this is exactly what we got. The chillest of vibes, extremely friendly locals, beautiful beaches, lots of hilly walks (which we loved), and just a very slow way of living which was so incredibly refreshing, as our Toronto life is quite hectic. Yve's (our chalet) place was absolutely perfect, we couldn't have asked for anything better. It was simple, but had everything we needed for the week. Our favorite moments were when we would awake with the sunrise (and roosters), make a french press (which is provided) of our organic coffee (which we brought with us, recommend!) and enjoyed the morning heat, before the true heat of the day would kick in. We would spend hours upon hours on that balcony, which was utterly blissful. There is also a private beach a five minute walk down a path, and only a 5 minute walk into town. If you're a little older, or have bad knees, I would highly recommend renting a car, as the hills are no joke!!! It was GREAT exercise, but if you struggle with hills make sure you have a way up + down to the chalet. We ate at Mama Tilly's and Salt Rush cafe twice, and it was true, true local cuisine (ingredients + produce). Mama Tilly's chicken is the best chicken we've ever tasted. I could go on, and on but you will have to book this place and see for yourself :) Yves was there (through (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)) whenever we needed him and answered all questions extremely promptly. Evelyn was also there, and checked in on us every few days. All in all is was a little slice of heaven, and we couldn't recommend it enough.

We had such an incredible stay! The cottage itself is tucked away on a hill overlooking a rocky beach and it is completely wooden and beautiful. There are mosquitos, so bring bug spray if you stay here. Laborie is a beautiful and small town- talk to Yves about renting a car to explore other parts of the island- it is quite easy to navigate! 10/10 would recommend staying here!

My name is Yves Renard, but you don't really need to know too much about me, more about the place. Laborie is a very quiet and attractive fishing village located in the south of Saint Lucia. It's not the right place if you are looking for casinos and night clubs, but perfect if you want to discover or rediscover Caribbean culture, eat fresh fish in a small village restaurant, enjoy a deserted beach or take a walk in the hills.
