Bright and cheerful 3 Bedroom/2 Bath home and separate, private Full-sized bed cottage walking distance to Burlingame Avenue. The house is in the heart of San Mateo Park, one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in the bay area.

In the main 3 bedroom 2 bath home, the master bedroom has a queen sleigh bed with 540 thread count Egyptian cotton sheets and en suite bath with shower. The large second bedroom has a Full sized bed and the adorable children's room has twin bunk beds with room for a Travel Crib, child's air mattress or twin size cot (we have all of those, so no need to bring your own, but you do need to let me know in advance). The Full Sized bedroom and Twin Bunk rooms share a large skylight bathroom with shower stall and separate soaking tub.

Our large and sunny playroom is a blast for kids. We have wonderful educational toys, blocks, magna tiles, puzzles, and books books books. Of course, we also have a flat screen tv with XBOX Kinect (tons of games for all ages) and Apple TV with Pandora streaming, YouTube, and the full iTunes library with all the latest releases. Apple TV purchases are on an honor system. Please keep track of movie and tv show purchases and leave us cash before you depart. Thanks! (If you don't have cash, its OK. We can deduct purchases from the security deposit if that is easier). Of course, we also have a bunch of DVDs or you can bring your own.

Our kitchen has everything you need to cook large meals, including rice cooker, blender, slow cooker, waffle maker, coffee grinder and french press.

Our guests are welcome use anything in the pantry cabinet or fridge, including any beer or drinks in there. Please don't take the wine from the wine rack or liquor from the liquor cabinet though :).

Our Farmhouse dining table seats 10 comfortably, with plenty of pretty serving dishes and table clothes for nice family dinners.

The bright and cheery guest house has a double bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and down comforter. Plush MemoryFoam pillows deck the bed for a luxurious sleep. The updated bath has a 'rain' showerhead, pedestal sink and hand made Mexican tiled mirror.

The adorable cottage also has a small flat screen tv, WiFI, and work desk. There is a wonderful selection of books for browsing and french doors that open to let in morning sunshine!

Our house is well suited for families, with plenty of toys, books, and kid dvd's, and XBox games.

From our house, you can walk to the Burlingame CalTrain station (1 mile or about 15 minutes), as well as the shops, restaurants, cafes, and farmers markets (Sunday morning and Thursday evenings May - October) along Burlingame Ave.

While a car is helpful. It is not necessary as long as you can walk to the Burlingame CalTrain station.

San Francisco
Ferry building (Embarcadero BART) 25 minutes from Millbrae BART
Mission District (16th and 24th St BART) 20 minutes from Millbrae BART
California Academy of Sciences/Golden Gate Park 35 minutes by car
AT&T Park 30 minutes from Burlingame CalTrain Station

University Ave in Palo Alto 30 min drive or 25 minute CalTrain

Stanford is 25 minute drive

Half Moon Bay and San Mateo beaches are only 15 miles away, but beach traffic gets really really heavy so plan on at least an hour on summer weekends after 9 am.

Guest Access

I have a lockbox on the front porch, so guests may arrive at any time. The code for the lockbox will be sent in the itinerary, after your booking is finalized. New HE Washer and gas Dryer in the garage is for guests to use, as well as laundry detergent, bleach, stain remover etc. However, we store personal items in the garage so it can't be used for parking cars.

Interaction with Guests

I may or may not see you while you are here- I live in San Francisco but come down to the house 2-3 times per week to get our mail from the garage and check the garden.

The Neighborhood

We are very close to downtown Burlingame, with its charming boutiques, wonderful restaurants, an organic grocery store and a very nice Safeway, and a 24 Walgreens Pharmacy. San Mateo Park is a charming, beautiful 1920's neighborhood full of old trees and stately homes. Wonderful for families! A quiet, peaceful escape from the hectic city life, yet close enough to everything!

Getting Around

We are a 1 mile walk from the Burlingame Ave Caltrain Station, which will take you north into San Francisco or South into Palo Alto, all the way to San Jose. However, a car would be the most convenient option. We have plenty of street parking in our neighborhood, as well as two driveway spots for our guests to use.

If you don't have a car, but don't want to use public transportation (MUNI, BART, or CALTRAIN), you can use Uber or Lyft. Just download the apps before your trip, and you will have a private car at your fingertips!

Other Things to Note

Some guests have asked what the cleaning fee includes. I hire a professional cleaning company to thoroughly clean the entire house between every guest. I send my top sheets and pillow cases out to be professionally laundered and pressed, so my beds feel crisp, clean, and heavenly! Duvet covers are changed between every guest, and all in-house laundry is washed with bleach so every guest arrives to a fresh, clean home with a wonderful bed!

We live in San Francisco, California with our two daughters.. My husband is an attorney and I am an epidemiologist. We love to travel as a couple and as a family, and are always eager to explore new places and new cuisines. We speak Mandarin Chinese, English, Spanish, and some German.

We love to explore new restaurants, and are happy to share our favorite local Pho places, Dim Sum restaurants, Deep Dish Pizza experiences, Farmer's Markets, California/French cuisine, Korean, Japanese.... just ask!

If you love to hike, we can recommend our favorite local trails for families.
