Stepanavan is a lovely city in the Lori Province of Armenia only 139 km north of the capital Yerevan. The history of Stepanavan goes back to 4th millennium BCE, the ancient fortress is the proof. There is a museum of Armenian Bolshevik leader Stepan Shaumian, after whom the city was named. Many other interesting places and famous landmarks are not too far from Stepanavan.
Lori Fortress is an 11th-century Armenian fortress located near the Lori Berd village in Lori Province, Armenia. Lori fortress is situated 3½ km southeast of 4th micro-district.
