About this listing
This is an elegant one-bedroom home on the mesa, about ten minutes from downtown Taos. There is no exterior landscaping but the interior is a work of art: floor to ceiling windows, hand-plastered walls, hand-made cabinets and doors etc. There's a king sized bed in the bedroom plus built in drawers and a closet. Cozy propane stove. Writing nook overlooks Taos Mountain. Very private and quiet. No pets, perfume, or smoking allowed - the house is safe for chemically sensitive people (like me). $118 per night, $708 per week plus $50 cleaning fee. Discounts available for longer stays up to two months. For one week stays or longer, there's a $150 damage deposit. This is a great place to write, paint, meditate, or contemplate your life. I have a small, interesting library of books. The host lives across the road and is available for questions or help. The house is located on a small rural road with a few other houses nearby. The space is intentionally not cluttered. For longer stays, arrangements can be made with host to use her washer/dryer.
No pets, smoking, perfume, or strong smelling chemicals. The place is safe for people with chemical sensitivities (like me). Please don't leave house with windows wide open - the wind comes up suddenly and can blow pictures off the wall. Please don't cut on any wood surfaces except cutting boards. You may use anything in the house.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jeanne's beautiful home in Taos. It was a very peaceful and quiet neighborhood, and the home interior is even more spectacular in person. It is a perfect distance from town, with easy access to all the shops and restaurants, and Taos Ski Village. We enjoyed the stunning mountain views from the large windows, and catching both the sunrise and sunset. All necessary amenities were available in the home. The cast iron stove was perfect for sitting around in the evening, or morning with a cup of coffee. The onsite host was readily available to assist with any needs, as well. We would love to stay at Jeanne's place again when we visit Taos in the future.
We had a wonderful time staying in this cute and cozy casita. The location is both convenient to town, but also far away enough that you can really enjoy some peace and quiet. The views from the home are beautiful and at night the sky is definitely a sight to behold.
The house had all of the amenities we needed for a quiet weekend of cooking and enjoying some down time. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking most any kind of meal and the house is full of great decorative touches.
Jeanne was incredibly responsive and easy to work with and the local host for the property (Jeanne's neighbor) was very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again the next time we visit Taos.
We enjoyed our stay at Jeanne's casita. The house is absolutely lovely with remarkable tile and woodwork. The setting is quiet and peaceful and the king-size bed very comfy. The drive in in Taos only takes about 15 minutes.
Guests may want to bring eye-shades for sleeping in as two bedroom windows have no curtains or blinds. Privacy is not a concern as the home is in the country but the morning light is bright.
The casita is an oasis for healing, quiet reflection and grounding. The views are just majestic! The home is newer and is the perfect size for a single or couple with 2 kids.
Great location too! Not far from town or ski valley - the best of both worlds! This is my 3rd stay! I'll be back!
Jeanne (and Nancy) were very accommodating to our needs. The home is just beautiful- every detail made with careful craftsmanship and exquisite New Mexican style. And yet also simple and very peaceful to be in. The views are far-reaching and the neighborhood very quiet. We enjoyed all our time there. I would definitely return there. And hopefully soon!!!
Great place! Very clean and cozy! Quiet location and very awesome southwestern aesthetic!
Jeanne home was absolutely gorgeous! Exactly as described with great amenities. Her host is super friendly and was very attentive -- answered every time I called. Thanks!
