Welcome Dear Guest,
My name is Seran, and I thank you for choosing us for your stay. Let me introduce you to our cozy, quiet and comfortable flats, located in a recently renovated historical building right in the heart of Taksim square.
Our building is located within walking distance to many attractions and shows day and night in Taksim area. Our street is the one parallel to the main avenue of the neighbourhood “Istiklal”, where you can find a variety of stores open 24/7.
On the opposite side of Taksim square, the street which leads down in front of our building will take you right into the old city boroughs with a lot of historic sightseeing opportunities and where you can visit the old Constantinople ruins in Cihangir, Cukurcuma and Galatasaray districts.
These neighbourhoods have always been a hit attraction for the locals, but recently a lot of foreign tourists have also started roaming the narrow streets of the historic Beyoglu district. There are boutique shops selling all sorts of merchandise which we highly recommend. There, you will find amazing items that has historic value for very affordable prices.
The Area: Taksim Central
Taksim Central is located in the European side of İstanbul. This landmark is worldwide famous for being a “meeting point” for all (locals and travellers), with historical buildings surrounding the square and following you wherever you go.
The main square is located in the Northern part of the Beyoglu district. Taksim and the surrounding area is well known; for its exclusive restaurants serving tastes of cuisines from all around the world, wine tasting cellars, delicious kebab shacks open until late, various tourist attractions, historical landmarks, museums belonging to different cultural heritages, art galleries, recreational parks as well as world renowned posh night clubs.
Taksim square has always been a popular leisure area for visitors from all around the world. It is the centre of Istanbul night-life as well as many other things. It is the absolute ideal place to stay during your vacation if this is your first time in Istanbul. The transportation is very easy to and from Taksim since it is situated right in the middle of the European side of the city.
It is close to all public transportation services with being the central station of the Metro network. Also, municipal bus service is in service 24/7 if you are on a budget and do not want to use taxi cabs. Overall, there is no better point to start your city tour other than Taksim square. There are a couple of options that offer “hop-on / hop-off” bus service city tours where you can either purchase ½ day or full days excursions of the city.
Our building is located near northern entrance of the famous Istiklal Avenue, known for its modern architecture and vibrant atmosphere. Taking a stroll on Istiklal Avenue at any time of the day, you will find a variety of restaurants, cafés, pubs, night clubs, brand stores and gift shops open. If you walk all the way down from Istiklal Avenue, you will reach the entrance of the old city, the Kabatas neighbourhood. In this part of the Beyoglu district, you can visit the churches and a couple of cathedrals built in the 17th century Byzantium occupation as well as the stunning view of the mosques surrounding the area followed with the fascinating “Spice Bazaar”.
If you choose to stay at our flats, you will also enjoy our terrace with its beautiful city-view on the famous Galata Tower and above the roofs of the European Istanbul.

The apartment is located in a very nice area 2 mins from Taksim Square and the most vibrant street in Istanbul.
It comes will all the promised inventory and is in good condition.
Only the heating is very tricky - it was scorching hot and we had to keep the window open all night. Which can be very noisy in a city like Istanbul. Other than that I can recommend the apartment and the hosts are really nice and welcoming.
We stayed here over 2 days and 3 nights (just last week)... and I will be very objective with my review!
1) Location (just 300m from Taksim square) - perfect location.
2) Cookpoint (nice boutique cafe downstairs - we could only have one coffee there because of our schedule but it definitely looked very nice albiet a bit pricey by Istanbul standards)
3) Zihad (he assists owners with customer handling, good English and very helpful).. Seran himself was probably too busy to talk to us directly and Sena is more into cookpoint and not the hotel.
4) Hot water supply... boiler was very efficient and water temperature could be controlled very easily.
1) Very poorly equipped - Very little kitchenware, almost no basic cooking ingredients (salt, pepper etc), broken shower head, no hairdryer, no washing m/c or dishwasher, very small kitchentop with electric plates for cooking, dysfunctional kettle, oddly placed small dining table for 2 which couldn't have been used, no DVDs/books, fused bulbs leading to poor lighting and gloomy look to the room! We managed to request some extra kitchenware, DVDs (weird collection!) & a hairdryer though.
2) Internet - We were at top floor and struggled all the time with wifi... they always used to switch off the router at the roof and we had to rely on the main router at cookpoint cafe whose signals would be disappointingly weak in our flat. The issue was fixed on the last night - even though we had been requesting to fix it since as soon as we got in!
3) Staircase & bathroom - This is a histoic building and the staircase is very steep and risky also not very well lit... must be avoided by elderly people and/or those with kids. Also, the bathrooms are very small with not even basic supplies like shampoo/conditioner.
4) Noisy - expected downside of being too close to Taksim square... lot of noise all through the night..
So, if you are a family with kids or elderly... you can/should avoid it. But younger lot without kids can give it a shot... though I do feel it was a bit costlier for the amenities provided and one can definitely find as good options at cheaper rate in the same locality.
We believe Nidhi was not aware of the whole concept of "apart hotel" where you are responsible to purchase your own stuff like toiletries, spices, beverages etc. because she expected these things from us even though her stay was only for 3 nights overall.
She must have been very intoxicated to recognize the washing machine situated right in the middle of the kitchen unit.
We are not obligated as any other Airbnb host around the globe to provide the guest with an "interesting" DVD collection which is not "weird" to the guests' taste but I guess the guest was not aware of the concept either.
We checked the room, actually myself went up there and checked all of the light bulbs after they checked out and surprisingly, unlike this review all of them seem to be working just fine. The way they illuminate the room is a bit low but that is just how they are. No problem with the bulbs. By the way, the room is only 30 square.
There was a slight problem with the Wifi router while this guest was lodging with us but we managed to fix it as soon a possible and notified her about it which is we believe is "understandable".
In the heading of the advertisement of this particular flat it says "Historical Building" so no need to explain that further. We had numerous families with small kids, even babies stay with us in this particular building and had no complaints whatsoever about the staircase or the illumination of the staircase.
I guess the guest is just trying to make things up, very creative imagination though... Would not recommend this guest to any host.
Great place. Clean and well located. Full of nice details . Be prepare for some stairs.
The Studio was more or less like on the picture; a better blanket for the third person (for whom we paid extra) would have been nice. In the first night the heating was so loud that we almost couldn't sleep - we told Sena&Seran - the result was that they turned off the heating - so we had no warm water on the next day :( On Friday and Saturday there was a live concert in the bar next to the house till 3am - so we didn't got a lot of sleep neither. Sean&Seran were quite nice, but they never checked our room (we had no toilet paper after the 2nd day, trash etc.)
We had a nice stay but I propably would go back to this apartment if I have another option.
After finally arriving back to the US, Istanbul left me with great memories again from new friends, great food, amazing scenery and warm Hospitality.. Historical building in Taksim-216 was very spacious and clean. Flat is on the 2nd floor no elevator but nice steps to get there. if you rely on the internet for work it can be a downfall.. surfing the web is not a problem though..(Sena and Seran were aware of this issue and they will have it fix for the next stay. Everything was provided as it was described on the ad. Sena and Seran where very warm and helpful!! the Cousin also was very helpful speaking fluent English. the Cookpoint cafe downstairs of teh building was amazing!! very clean food and amazing cooking from Sena!!! the kids ( helpers) where very attentive and nice..You must eat there before you go on with your day. the flat was in the Heart of Taksim 1 block away from the main street İstiklal Caddesi (Independence Avenue) close to everything.. as for the protesters no need to worry about it. i experience it while staying there and it only last few hours and then the square is back to normal.. well this is all for me enjoy Istanbul and the spacious flat and great Host Sena and Seran.. thanks for making my trip a fantastic one... see you soon
We had a great stay in this apartment. It is perfectly located since it's minutes away from Taksim Square and Istanbul's nightlife. To see all the big sights, it's easy enough to take public transport.
The flat itself was quiet, comfortable and well-equipped (the air-conditioning was much appreciated!). There isn't any view from the window, but the rooftop terrace absolutely makes up for it. We have recommended a couple of easy improvements to the hosts, but overall it was just right for our needs. We also had a big brunch at Cook Point, which was great. The restaurant itself is cute and welcoming.
Also, if you need a haircut, pay the barber next door a visit! He was really fun and gave my boyfriend a great haircut.
Finally, Sena and Seran were super hosts - attentive, available and friendly.
The apartment is perfect located, close to Taksim Square, the Sena and Seran are very caring and courteous, сafe on the ground floor of a pleasant, all cooked delicious. Thanks Sena and Seran!))
We had a lovely stay in Seran and Sena's apartment in Istanbul. The room was very nice, quiet and a good size. Our particular apartment was on the top floor, which seemed to block out most of the noise from busy streets below. The location is excellent - right next to Taksim Square. We also had very nice meals in Seran and Sena's restaurant, Cookpoint, and it was good having them so close by. They were very attentive hosts. We would highly recommend this apartment.
We had a great tie staying at Sena and Seran's! The location is perfect and their restaurant, Cookpoint, is delicious and conveniently located on the ground floor of the apartment. The apartment is super comfortable and Sena and Seran provide tons of amenities from a hairdryer to a stocked fridge. Would definitely recommend this apartment to anyone traveling in Istanbul!
Sena & Seran and their Cookpoint staff were so friendly and helpful. The apartment was great and in a perfect location -- minutes from Taksim Square and public transportation and steps from so many restaurants, bars and shops. Having the restaurant just downstairs with folks you can easily talk to is just an added bonus.
