Apartment - Private room · Via di Monte del Gallo, Rome, Lazio 00165, Italy

An AirBnb 5 stars accomodation, walking distance from downtown (piazza Navona, campo de Fiori etc.) and Trastevere. 5 minutes from piazza San Pietro & Vatican. Private room, private bathroom and balcony. Full breakfast included. Check my reviews.

The Space

Close to San Pietro Basilica in Vatican, Rome, a big room in a 1500 SqFt flat in a quiet, lovely area. Perfect for two people.
Walking distances: 5 minutes from San Pietro square, 10 min from Castel Sant'Angelo, 15 min walking from Campo dei Fiori, Piazza Navona and the historical centre of Rome, 15 minutes from Trastevere, the most famous area in Rome. Fast and easy connections either to railway stations (Termini and Tiburtina) than the main airports (Fiumicino and Ciampino).
Guests will be accomodated in a big room, full of light, with a very comfortable queen size bed (check the reviews). From your room you should access a balcony, to smoke, to have a rest, to chat... Close to the room there is the private bathroom with tube and shower. Towels and linen provided.
Guests should also share with us a big open living area with design furniture, with a satellite TV, dining table 8 up to 10 people, a louge area with a fireplace (useless in summer, by the way), a big kitchen with microwave, dishwasher, toaster. There is a big balcony, witha 4 persons table, for the breakfast. A small but useful laundry area – complete with washing machine and iron – is available for the guest.

Guest Access

We offer a huge continental breakfast (with ham, cheese, bread, butter, jam, tea, milk, coffee, yoghurt, fruit...), beloved by all our previous guests (check reviews).
Wi-Fi internet is also provided.
You'll be free to use the kitchen and all the amenities, as the satellite TV.
The area is absolutely safe (as the rest of the city) and you won't have any curfiew, as we provide you keys to enter and exit whenever you like.
City guides and maps, including a useful public transport map, are available.

Interaction with Guests

My family and I really love to travel, AirBnb offered us the opportunity to do it when we stay home too. That means we love to chat and spent our time with guests, we'll be happy to share with you all teh tips and infos you need, as a glass of wine when you'll be back from your wandering.
But we understand what privacy means, too. If you'll prefer to have your own space and time, we won't bother in any way. You'll feel free to share part of your time with us as to stay by your own, astonished by the beauty of the eternal city.

The Neighborhood

Monte del Gallo is a kind of small town inside the city center. As the street is a dead end, almost no cars get around (above all by night) and you'll find real romans living in the neighborhood (how peculiar!). I felt in love with this area when I arrived in Rome from Milan, I guess you'll feel my feelings.

Getting around

San Pietro train station, useful to go and come from Fiumicino airport and Termini train station, is 3 minutes walking distance. Bus nr. 64 last stop is just in from the station, and it should carry you in the heart of Rome in 10 to 15 minutes. Piazza Navona, campo de Fiori and Trastevere are within 15 to 20 minutes walking distance. Several bus stop, to reach almost all the city highlights, are just around the corner. In the area there are three pizzeria, some restaurants (one of those is my favourite) and bar to eat or for a snack.

  • The stay with Vinicio and his family was absolutely wonderful. They were very welcoming towards us, helped us with our questions about where to go, what to do, and also gave us some pretty good recommendations of places to visit! The hearty breakfast in their home was such a great start to our every day! The apartment is in a quiet neighborhood, and with the blinds and a very comfortable bed, needless to say, we got very good sleep every night. Location was good - very easy to get from the airport, and there is a Carrefour express nearby to buy groceries/midnight snacks. We had a lot of fun chatting during one night over coffee. Would recommend Vinicio's place to anyone!

  • This was a great place to stay. The room was very comfortable and the hosts perfect. Friendly, communicative, super polite and helpful. When I first sat on the bed I thought it might be too firm: but no, I slept very well. The bathroom is nice (be sure to use your towel to clean up the floor, water spills out when you are taking a shower). Vinicio sets a really lovely table, and makes great coffee. San Pietro is nice, but Rome is just big enough that I would recommend taking the bus to your farthest tourist attraction, and then walk back. Otherwise you will get pretty tuckered out. Thank you to this great family. So helpful, sweet and accommodating!

  • We stayed with Vinicio for three nights an everything was perfect. The apartment is extremely easy to find from the airport. Breakfast and coffee were provided every morning and our hosts answered all of our questions about Rome.

  • It was the first time we selected this type of accommodation and we were a little bit hesitant about it. However we were absolutely surprised by both the level of hospitality and the personal care we received by Vinicio and Francesca, a very interesting, social and communicative couple which could be very easily our friends. We think we found our place in Rome and we are going to be there again, for sure. As for the breakfast, after 15 years of traveling to Rome we found the best one! Thank you very much Vinicio and Francesca

    Response from Vinicio:

Merci beacoup Charles. It was a pleasure to host you both.

  • My partner and I had quite a few airbnb experiences now, we had never seen a full 5 stars by ALL the reviews of a host. Well, Vinicio and his great family have that kind of high quality reviews for good reasons!!! Everything was perfect, really.
    - Family welcoming, very very kind and helpful before the trip and at arrival, but also discrete and respectful
    - very calm and pleasant neighbourhood
    - great room with amazing bed and real privacy
    - perfectly clean and pretty private bathroom
    - perfect location (15/ 20 minute walk to the city centre, just behind the vatican and 1 minute away from the train station - super easy to come from the airport).

I would come back with pleasure and advise all friends and family to go. Thanks again to Vinicio and his family!

  • Vinicio and his family are absolutely wonderful hosts! My six year old daughter and I had a fantastic time during our four night stay in Rome and most of the credit for that goes to Vinicio, Francesca and their delightful son.

The hosts are warm, helpful and incredibly welcoming. We never wanted for a thing during our time with them. We enjoyed tasty breakfasts, easy conversations and great insider knowledge of Rome.

The location of the flat is perfect. You can see St Peters from the kitchen table, walk to the nearest train station in a couple of minutes and easily walk to most major attractions (or within very handy distance of the 64 bus which goes everywhere you'll want to go, if you don't fancy the walk).

The flat itself is well designed, immaculate and gloriously well-organised. I have never stayed in such a clean room! The guest room and bathroom are lovely, the bed exceptionally comfortable and we were very cozy under the warm duvet. We felt so comfortable and at home here.

Highly recommended - I can't sing high enough praises for this airbnb gem! Thank you so much for making our stay so wonderful, we hope to come back again one day!

Hi, we are Vinicio (the bold one in the profile photo, now bolder), Elia (the small one, now 7) and Francesca (the photographer). We love to travel and meet people from all over the world. I'm a writer (scripts for TV, above all), Francesca is a teacher, she teaches italian language to foreign people. We'll love to share our apartment with people with same interest: reading, cinema, music and above all travel. Although neither me nor Francesca are from Rome (I'm from Milan, she's from Sicily) we used to live here since 20 years and we feel definitely romans (Elia was born here). With our help, if you want, you should discover a lot of places out from the usual touristic spots. And sometimes, depending on free time in my job, I'll love to be a guide for you (absolutely for free). We can speak in english (ok, what I suppose seems to be english...) and french. And, like our spanish friends used to say, a little of itanol, a mix between italian and spanish, enough to understand and let us be understood.
