Apartment, 1 Bedroom + Convertible bed(s), 1 Bath (Sleeps 2-4)
Wonderful location on the way up to the hill towards Montmartre and Sacre Coeur, this pleasant Parisian 35m2 (370sq.ft) apartment has been repainted and refurbished 6 months ago.
It is a nice and well equipped 1-bedroom apartment located rue des Martyrs, a real French neighbourhood – as the New York Times said about rue des Martyrs: “there is no better place to rent an apartment and to pretend, even for a brief time, to live in Paris”.
It is located on the 3rd floor in a traditional apartment building security entrance but no elevator. The living/dining area with a US kitchen gets the morning sun with open windows onto an internal courtyard.
The living area is spacious and bright, with amenities including a TV with digital, DVD player, and a stereo with CD player.
- The seating area contains a pull-down that sleeps 2 and converts with no effort at all. - The kitchen is fully equipped with modern appliances.
- The bathroom has WC, bath, shower.
- The bedroom has a large double bed (Queens’s size) and closets.
The apartment looks out on a little internal courtyard and is very quiet one would never imagine from the inside that location is in one of the hippest and most vibrant neighbourhoods in the city.
Rue des Martyrs has all its typical and delicious restaurants, cafes and trendy shops: Rosebakery the best brunch is right when you get off the building. Delmontel, the President’s bakery is across the street.
Transportation is easy. Anvers & Notre Dame de Lorette station stays at 3 min walking distance.
If you stand at the bottom of rue des Martyrs and look North, you can see up to the basilica of Sacré Coeur, one of Paris’s most famous landmarks.
This place is a perfect base to visit Paris. This location benefits of all the activities of the two surrounding touristic areas. Northeast lies the typical old Montmartre district. East is “Anvers”. From there you will be able to reach the basilica by the cable car only 150 meters away from the flat. Northwest is the Abbesses district, the one where the movie “Amelie” took place.
Gare du Nord is around 10 minutes walking. You can also walk right to Galeries Lafayette on Boulevard Haussmann in 10 minutes and be at the Opéra Garnier in the same time. Of course, the other Grand Magasins of Paris are right nearby too. Once you are at the Opéra, it is not far to the Louvre and if you are at the Louvre, you could easily wander over the Seine and down into St Germain des Pres.
