Interaction with Guests
I won't be here, as you will have the whole place for yourself, but will be available constantly, by e-mails, sms or phone. I answer within 1 hour big max!
Cosmopolitan, with many Indian restaurants and shops on one side, and more calm and trendy, with the Canal Saint Martin on the other side, this neighborhood gives a good insight of what authentic Paris looks like.
Please, try to keep the appartment as clean as you found it :)
Coffee, tea, and other usefull things are available in the kitchen as well as in the bathroom. I expect my guests not to make too much noise, by respect of the neighbours. Smoking is allowed, but only in the kitchen, at the window.
Anne was a great host. We did not meet her in person but we did sms each other. I could not connect to the wifi but the rest of the apartment was nice and cosy. The only downside was the neighbourhood was not very nice and in future i would probably choose a better neighbourhood. The heating in the apartment also was a bit delicate as it would trip the fuse, but after speaking with Anne we resolved it carefully by selecting the right setting.
I am very sorry about the heating, as it never happened before and I never had any comment about it from previous guests - I will have it checked by a professionnal to be sure nothing went wrong though. Regarding the area, it is a cosmopolite area, lively, popular and trendy, at the crossroad of many metros - I guess it depends on personnal tastes, but usually people really enjoy this atmosphere :)
Anne was very accommodating and made us feel very welcome for our weekend in Paris. the house was lovely and clean and very central to Gare du Nord. Great bakery on the corner too! Thanks Anne :)
We only stayed for a couple of nights, but Anne was a very friendly, warm, and kind host and went out of her way to be helpful to us and our 3 year old son, e.g. by showing him toys and books he could play with (including a couple in English--how thoughtful) and calling us a taxi when we left. She provided lots of useful information and recommendations about the area. Her apartment is close to Gare du Nord which was good for us as we were arriving on the Eurostar. There are lots of Indian groceries nearby for those who love Indian food (as we do) and the area felt quite safe and lively but was not overly noisy. Several Metro stations are within a short (website hidden) a full meal in the kitchen was a bit of a challenge as it is quite small, but we managed--if we hadn't had a small, very picky child to feed, we would have been eating in restaurants anyway! Thanks Anne for a pleasant stay.
We had a great time at Anne's. The flat is in a strategic location for Eurostar and there's plenty of bakeries and Indian restaurants to fill your appetite from morning to night. Anne was kind enough to meet us when we arrived, and provided us a range of maps, restaurant recommendations and breakfast condiments. The flat was a perfect setup for two couples and a toddler, and definitely reasonably priced.
The nest that Anne has as house felt really like our home for my family and me. It is cozy and very charming decorated. And I can tell that it is a parents proff flat. :)
The neighborhood is multicultural, colorful and with plenty of life, it definitely worth a walk around. It was also surprising how quiet at night even being in the middle of the city.
And I also want to point out that Anne is much more than a simple host, she takes a big effort to have her guests happy.
She prepared in advance everything for the flat but also took care of us personally by giving tips and recommending nice spots.
Choosing her flat was a success, I am sure that future guest will be as happier as we were.
Great first floor apartment in a beautiful old building 6 stories high. Typical Parisian architecture, with lovely wrought iron railings and planters outside the windows. Grocery store and boulangerie right on the doorstep, along with many Indian restaurants. You don't have to walk very far to find French brasseries. Could hear trains and people in the street till late at night, but that was not a problem for us.
Great accessibility to public transport - The apartment is very close to 3 different metro stations and Gare du Nord train station - for main line trains ('grand lignes'), Eurostar, and RER B to CDG Airport. We also did a lot of walking - all the way into the heart of Paris. Montmartre and the up and coming Canal St. Martin areas were easy to walk to.
Apartment was exactly as described. 2 large rooms plus compact kitchen and bathroom. Beds comfortable. Paris was very hot during our stay in July (up to 36 deg C) and we were grateful for the 2 fans provided.
Great communication with our host before and after our arrival. Anne is very warm and her English is most excellent! She was out of town during our visit, so we did not meet, but the arrangements she made for letting us into the apartment worked very well.

About the Host, Anne
A young mum working in contemporary art, I am often away from home, for my work, but also for myself, travelling around! My lovely appartment is often empty: I wish here to offer the possibility, for Airbnb users, to enjoy it as much as I do!
Looking forward to welcoming you.
