Equal access: Rock Island & Moline

House - Private room · 45th St, Rock Island, IL 61201, United States

The Space

We're just a couple of miles off of I-74, situated on the border between Rock Island and Moline, across the river from Iowa. It's just a couple of miles to each town's downtown, and one mile to Augustana College. The Mississippi river is about a mile away; Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, are accessible from here. The neighborhood is quiet and residential, but you can walk to good stuff: 5 minutes' walk to good Mexican food, 10 minutes to terrific pizza, 20 minutes to a coffee shop, 15 minutes to a grocery store. The house is a charming tudor-revival brick house from the 1930s.

The room is our guest room and it has a double bed in it, as well as a large crib. The room is equipped with feather pillows and a down comforter, but if feathers are an allergy problem for you just let us know! It has a ceiling fan; the house has central heat and air.

We have accommodated up to 6 guests (some sleeping in the living room on air mattresses or the couch). The bathroom is shared with the rest of the house. You can use our wi-fi for free. The room is on the ground floor but guests need to be able to walk up at least 3 steps to get into the house.

Towels and linens provided. Use of kitchen and laundry is available with advance arrangement. We can serve you breakfast if you want it, and are willing to accommodate your dietary needs.

  • My mom and I had a great stay with Laura and her family! They were flexible with arrival time which was much appreciated, and were helpful when my mom accidentally left some clothes behind. The room was great, the bed comfortable and the host was very welcoming. We sat down and enjoyed some tea when we first arrived, and Laura helped us decide where to eat dinner that night, and lunch for the next day, as well. In the morning, we had coffee and breakfast made by Laura. She was so accomodating of my dietary restrictions - which I definitely appreciate.

I would recommend staying here to anyone in the area!

  • My 15-year-old daughter and I had a great stay with Laura and her partner Anne and their charming son Theo. They were gracious, intelligent and funny hosts and good cooks to boot. They steered us to a great little restaurant for dinner and provided a great breakfast of gluten-free pancakes. Highly recommended!

  • Great town and great hosts. Best little BnB in the Quad cities.

  • Laura and her family were excellent hosts! They made an awesome breakfast that included both bacon and gluten free granola for me :) Their little boy was delightful too. They gave us tons of privacy but were also very helpful answering questions about the area. Laura even got me a big map out! The best part was how nice they were about letting us shower after our bike ride the second day even though it was a tad later so we didn't have to drive sweaty.

  • Laura and Anne are congenial hosts. Their two year old son added to the positive experience of staying in their small brick home, located relatively close to the local college. The breakfast served on time was great; the house cool on a very not day, and though the bedroom was crowded, we had all our needs met. Thank you Anne and Laura.

The room was great and the house is really as nice as it looks on the photos.

  • Laura was an absolutely wonderful host and made us feel right at home. She was extremely accommodating and brewed us some much needed tea upon our arrival. We fell fast asleep in a cozy, quiet bedroom and woke up to the lovely smell of sweet potato pancakes. The homemade breakfast coupled with great conversation made it one of our best airbnb stays yet!!
