We are in the centre of EVERYTHING in Sydney! Sports, pools, fitness, museums, and most importantly RESTAURANTS! We and in the very centre of the very best restaurants, cafes, and entertainment that anyone could wish for. AND you can walk everywhere.
Welcome to Sydney!
A large comfy queen size bed awaits you within this bright and airy room with double French doors leading to your sunny balcony overlooking the street. The house is more reminiscent of being in a traditional french style home than in the centre of this beautiful city we call Sydney!
There is no other accommodation so close to everything in the centre of Sydney with the same advantages. We offer FREE WiFi, FREE cleaning service, air conditioning in the bedrooms and most importantly, we can lend you a mobile phone with FREE local calls to landlines and mobiles within Australia for the duration of your stay.
How does that sound?
This is a traditional terrace on three and a half levels, situated just south of Hyde Park and in walking distance of Central Railway Station.
We are close to Hyde Park, Centre Point Tower, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, all theatres, museums, art galleries, St Mary's Cathedral, Fox Studios, Sydney Cricket Ground, swimming pool, the Rocks and the Domain.
And for Gourmets, some of the BEST restaurants that Sydney has to offer. Ask me about Organic places and where to get the best Paleo food too.
The local buses will take you to all the best beaches and it is a six to seven minute walk to Central Railway Station and only an eight minute walk to Paddy's Market which is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Just an 8 minute walk from the front door you will find a bus stop for the 555 FREE Shuttle Bus.
There are so many cafes, restaurants and coffee shops in the immediate vicinity, and you can shop till you drop in the City, Darling Harbour, The Rocks and famous Oxford Street.
There is one downside - we cannot get TV reception in this home, so if you are addicted to TV, please don't book - however, we do have a large selection of DVDs which you can watch in the family room or on your laptop in the comfort of your room.
Enjoy your stay in Sydney's CBD with its city life and famous icons and all the best beaches just a bus ride away, including famous Bondi Beach with the Icebergs Club at the south end. This makes winter in Sydney more than just bearable. I drive to Bondi every morning and I am happy to take guests with me if the time suits us both.
A minimum stay of 4 nights applies for Christmas and NEW YEARS EVE with a holiday loading. The holiday loading is written on the calendar and just to clarify, this rate for the nights around Christmas/New Year is $250 per night with no weekly discount. I trust this helps.
Thanks and look forward to meeting you!
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen for tea or coffee anytime, and there is a very large range of teas to choose from plus organic coffee, and also to prepare breakfast if they are here for a longer time or have special needs.
I have found that most guests choose to eat out and enjoy the varied range of foods in this area . . . . without the work of shopping and preparation and cleaning up afterwards! After all, they are on holiday and spending time "at home" cuts down time enjoying this beautiful city.
Interaction with Guests
I am very happy to spend time with guests if this is what they want however, I am equally comfortable to leave guests to enjoy their own schedule. It is my belief that people who choose to stay at a BnB are very lovely people and willing to share stories and time together when it fits in with their plans.
This neighborhood is so very convenient to get around everywhere. And the quantity and quality of the places to eat is exceptional. There is a restaurant or cafe to suit everyone's choice.
I am and have been totally organic for almost 5 years now so if anyone wants advice on where to get the best organic choice, please ask me.
I feel that the reason why I have many repeat bookings is simply because it is so easy to get around from this location.
When I travel overseas I always choose the place closest to the Central Railway Station as this is usually an indicator of easy access to all amenities. It also means that I don't have to spend money and time finding my way on public transport for everyday things. It is just so convenient when you can walk to places you need to be - and also more efficient. And that is what this place offers.
Other Things to Note
Communication is everything - please ask if there is anything you want to know.
Please ask if there is anything which you are not comfortable with. I am always happy to listen and make sure that your needs are met if possible.
Leonie is a really nice host, her house was close to everything, the location is very good, you can walk to everywhere, like restaurants, supermarkets, darling harbor and so on. She has a really friendly cat, my son like it very much, it was a really pleasant stay, hope to see you again!
My husband and I had an enjoyable and lovely stay at Leonie's place. Leonie is a wealth of information and warmth and we felt immediately welcomed. All the major tourist attractions such as the Opera House are a short and beautiful half hour walk away or you can hop on the free shuttle a few blocks away. However, we loved the more local experience her place provides with so many great coffee shops and restaurants in the area. There is some street noise but it is minor compared to the rest of Sydney - if you are a light sleeper, we recommend ear plugs for Sydney in general! The bedroom is spacious and comfortable, has a lot of storage, and the private balcony is a great way to relax into the evening.
We had a lovely time staying with Leonie, the accommodation is well placed for walking to the city. Circular Quay is less than half an hour walk through Hyde Park which is beautiful. Leonie was very helpful and informative and made us very welcome.
Leonie was a great host. She was there to greet us even though we had a late flight. The room was very warm and welcoming, just like the photos. I would recommend her to anyone visiting Sydney.
Leonie was an exceptional host. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at home and gave us useful advice on navigating the neighbourhood. The room gave us ample privacy and we loved the balcony and large wardrobe space. You will hear some street noise but it is a relatively quiet street, and it's part of the experience. Surry Hills has great restaurants, cafes and bars, and is a short walk to Paddington and Central station. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it to other travelers looking for a local experience while in Sydney.
We loved our stay with Leonie in Sydney. The house is in a fabulous location. We love to walk cities and no matter what direction we went in, we were impressed with the excellent location. The room is large, very nice, and very comfortable. We did need to shut the balcony doors and run the fan at night to block the noise - but doing that worked fine and kept the room quiet.
Leonie is a very gracious host. She gave us great tips for the city, helped us make new travel plans when a cyclone hit the Barrier Reef forcing our planned scuba/snorkel trip to be cancelled, and provided additional space for my husband to work and make phone calls in the early mornings. She even let us use her cell to make calls.
We would definitely stay here again if we return to Sydney.
Leonie was a great host, very welcoming and very helpful. A clean room and private bathroom in a great location made our stay in Sydney really enjoyable. Leonie is very knowledgable and a lovely lady. Lots of info available in the house on Sydney and great local restaurants. Thank you Leonie.

I'm into health, fitness and totally organic food, and before retirement, worked as a senior manager for 20 years for a multi national newspaper corporation.
My interests are meeting people, finding out about them - and conversation. I love hearing other people's stories and learning about them and their experiences. I have lived in Sydney for 24 years and am always happy to recommend activities, restaurants and things to see when in Sydney.
Any early risers who stay here are welcome to drive with me to Bondi for a sauna and swim or just to enjoy the beautiful view and walk barefoot in the sand - a great way to get over jet lag fast. One thing - I aim usually to be there before 7am.

The things I can't live without?? Mmmm . . . my family, fresh ocean air, good healthy organic food, exercise, the company and conversation of positive, happy people. Is that five? And most importantly . . . just being. We are Human Beings . . . not Human Doings.
One of my favourite movies is Avatar and another one is Mama Mia - great to watch before going to bed so you wake up singing!
Looking forward to meeting you!
