Welcome to Sydney!
A large comfy queen size bed awaits you within this bright and airy room with double French doors leading to your sunny balcony overlooking the street. The house is more reminiscent of being in a traditional french style home than in the centre of this beautiful city we call Sydney!
There is no other accommodation so close to everything in the centre of Sydney with the same advantages. We offer FREE WiFi, FREE cleaning service, air conditioning in the bedrooms and most importantly, we can lend you a mobile phone with FREE local calls to landlines and mobiles within Australia for the duration of your stay.
How does that sound?
This is a traditional terrace on three and a half levels, situated just south of Hyde Park and in walking distance of Central Railway Station.
We are close to Hyde Park, Centre Point Tower, the Opera House, the Harbour Bridge, Darling Harbour, Chinatown, all theatres, museums, art galleries, St Mary's Cathedral, Fox Studios, Sydney Cricket Ground, swimming pool, the Rocks and the Domain.
The local buses will take you to all the best beaches and it is a six minute walk to Central Railway Station and only an eight minute walk to Paddy's Market which is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Just a two-minute walk from the front door you will find a bus stop for the 555 FREE Shuttle Bus.
There is an abundance of cafes, restaurants and coffee shops, and you can shop till you drop in the City, Darling Harbour, The Rocks and famous Oxford Street.
There is one downside - we cannot get TV reception in this home, so if you are addicted to TV, please don't book - however, we do have a large selection of DVDs which you can watch in the family room or on your laptop in the comfort of your room.
Enjoy your stay in Sydney's CBD with its city life and famous icons and all the best beaches just a bus ride away, including famous Bondi Beach with the Icebergs Club at the south end. This makes winter in Sydney more than just bearable. I drive to Bondi every morning and I am happy to take guests with me if the time suits us both.
A minimum stay of 4 nights applies for NEW YEARS EVE with a holiday loading. The holiday loading is written on the calendar and just to clarify, this rate for the nights around Christmas/New Year is $250 per night with no weekly discount. I trust this helps.
Thanks and look forward to meeting you!
Staying with Leonie was a real treat. The location of her tastefully presented and warm terrace house was ideal for visiting many key areas of the city. I walked everywhere from here!
The layout of Leonie'a home meant it felt like I had a whole wing to myself, which was great for spending some quiet time alone to wind down from a big day.
Leonie herself is a tremendously gracious and considerate host. Her warm, intuitive and positive nature made me feel at ease right away and equally comfortable relaxing alone in her home. I felt safe, welcome and extremely looked after here with a lovely clean and private bathroom and deliciously comfortable big bed.
I certainly plan to stay with Leonie next time I visit Sydney and look forward to picking up our chats from where we left off and enjoying a green smoothie together at her organic hot-spots of bondi!
After a wonderful trip to Sydney and a stay with Leonie I feel revitalised, re-energised and inspired.
We had a wonderful stay in Sydney. It was so easy to "live like locals" with all the help given to us by Leonie. The Surry Hills area was really relaxed and great for food and drinks . It's an easy walk into the city center from Leonie's, Bondi is nearby and wonderful, and Surry Hills is a quick taxi ride to and from the airport - ideally placed! Thanks Leonie for your hospitality, we'll be back again soon.
Leonie's home is just perfect itself, let alone the unbeatable location...lots of good food and coffee nearby, and can easily walk to famous attractions.Love the rooms and the vibe of surry hills, and we spent a lot of time hanging around in this community...
Although Leonie was busy while our stay, she was very helpful and thoughtful, and her books and brochures inspired us a lot. Her daughter Sandra gave us a warm welcome and it's really lovely to met her and her babys:) And we definitely love Leonie's cat Winslow, although he failed to sleep with us.lol
All in all, stay in this house is a awesome choice to experience Sydney, and I will come back to Leonie if I visit Sydney again.
What a beautiful review Yue! You and your look alike mum were such easy going guests and I would love to see you back here again! It has been raining heavily for the past few days and there is a frog in my back courtyard - I don't know where he has come from here in the middle of the city and he has been croaking all night for the last three nights!
Thank you for staying with me and I will send you the photos as soon as I download them from my phone!
Staying with Leonie was an absolute delight. She is a warm and welcoming host with an easy going approach. I was quickly made to feel safe and welcome. Leonie was interested in me and my needs and quick to help out where necessary. She is also a fascinating woman, who is fully engaged in Life.
My room and bathroom were both fantastic... big , roomy, super comfy bed, great internet access, close to everything, full of fresh air and for inner city Sydney it was a tranquil haven. I will definitely be contacting Leonie first time every time I need to go to Sydney for work. I totally loved staying here.
Leonie is a perfect Host. She is doing everything to make your stay comfortable. Very nice charming room with the balcony.
Loved as well the location with lots of nice coffee shops and restaurants around. I would definatley come back to Leonie.
A wonderful historic home filled with artwork made a perfect home base for our visit to Sydney. Leonie was so nice and helpful, giving us suggestions, calling an airport van, and even giving us a ride in her car when our destinations and schedules were the same. We had the room with balcony and our own hallway bath. It was very comfortable, and a nice, lively neighborhood, too.
I really enjoyed my stay at Leonie's. I was on a funny schedule and Leonie was very understanding and accommodating.
The accommodation itself is comfortable, clean and cosy - a home from home feel about it. The room I stayed in had a beautiful little balcony and its own bathroom.
Thank you for being a lovely host, Leonie!
Leonie was a very gracious host. The apartment is located in a hip neighborhood with outdoor cafes and restaurants and is a 10 minute walk to Chinatown/Darling Harbor and a 20 minute walk to the Central Business District. Leonie provided helpful recommendations on where to eat (we were very budget conscious but found lots of cheap and delicious options nearby, particularly Asian restaurants with BYO policies), attractions, and transport options. We also got to cuddle with her cat!
Thank you both for being so . . . competent and independent . . . and for your lovely reaction to staying here. You made me happy just to share time with you.
You are genuinely lovely and "real" people and I wish you both the very best that life has to offer - look after each other and have an amazing life together.
Ah Leonie! My Aussie inspiration and empowering maternal figure. Her house is located in the best area for walking and discovering the amazing city of Sydney. Her home is peaceful, interesting, charming and includes a darling cat who didn't make me allergic at all. I really enjoyed her company and our varied conversations on life, the universe, everything! My time spent there felt like visiting a long lost family member. Thank you dear. And hugs to Winslow.
Leona house is very close to downtown, we enjoy walking n stroll to NYC Opera Thai-China town. Leona is very considerate and made guests felt comfortable. More to come back , stay with her and explore more of Sydney.
