Nice and unique view on modern canals and lake. Lots of small boats in the summer and possible to swim in the lake. Combine this spot with perfect connection to the centre (maximum 5 min by bus) and walking distance to museums & concert hall for jazz (Bimhuis). The apartment idealy situated for guests that would like to be on a quiet spot but very close to the city center and all the lovely attraction Amsterdam has to offer.

The restaurant of Jamie Oliver is right across the bridge and lots of other nice restaurants & bars. The rest I will tell you when you arrive.

Feel welcome in Amsterdam... It'll be an unforgettable trip. I would love to host you in my hometown.

You have acces to your private bedroom and the shared bathroom. And if you need you can use the kitchen. The best part (in summer) is the balcony with an amazing view and a nice lounge bed.

Interaction with Guests

Me or my friends will welcome you in the apartment when you arrive. Most of the time we are there. But experience learns you have a lot of private time here. I will tell you what nice spots and events are in the period you are here, and please ask me anything you want to know. I can also book tickets for a nice concert or performance on forehand. After the airbnbbooking I sent you a list with all my secret favorite places in Amsterdam. Im sure you'll like it.

The Neighborhood

I love the neighborhood because it's the perfect combination of city and silence. The water makes the place completely relaxed after a day in the busy city.

  • Sigrid was a terrific host. She was on holiday for most of my stay, but ensured that everything was in order for my check-in. Because I was in town for work, I didn't have a chance to road test her "unconventional guide" to Amsterdam, but I certainly will in the future. On one lazy Sunday afternoon she suggested that I have a scone at a local shop in Zeeburg. That was definitely a winner! Best scone ever---clotted cream and all.

Also, if it weren't obvious from the other reviews and the profile pictures, Sigrid's apartment is absolutely gorgeous! The interior design is impeccable, the furniture is quirky and cool, and the view is spectacular, day or night. Plus, there's a friendly cat in her building who enjoys riding the elevator.

Finally, Zeeburg is a unique place to stay. It's an island, complete with mini canals and a river. The building have an industrial feel, and there seem to be lots of creative enterprises in the area. There's also a gym, grocery store, and several bars/nice restaurants, all within walking distance from Sigrid's apartment.

This is my third trip to Amsterdam this year, and Sigrid's place/Zeeburg are my favorite so far! Highly recommended.

  • Wonderful view! Very tastefully decorated apartment. Comfortable bed. Clean and tidy, easy to find things. We rented bikes so the location was perfect. Communication was very clear.

Sigrid was traveling when we arrived and had arranged with a friend to meet us who showed us the apartment and gave us tips about the city, including some great cafes.

Only hick-up was that Sigrid had forgotten to let us know that she charges €5 for using the laundry machine. A bit unusual, but quite ok, as long as it's clearly communicated. I have no hesitations recommending the place as this little hick-up also was elegantly sorted out.

  • Sigrid - A beautiful lady with a beautiful home. Our stay couldn't have been more comfortable and Sigrid has some great recommendations that only a local could provide. The location is good, out of the main chaos of central Amsterdam but still close enough to walk or cycle in. The public transport links are good. We couldn't have asked for more from our first stay with airbnb.

  • Staying at Sigrid's cool and fancy apartment was very pleasant. It is located quite perfectly in a nice and quiet area but still near to the city centre. And the view from the balcony is really amazing. Sigrid had a lot of good suggestions (like where to find the best applepie you ever tasted) for us to explore amsterdam. I recommend to stay at Sigrid' apartment strongly, she deserves 5+ stars. So all that's left to say is a big THANK YOU

  • It was really nice to stay at Sigrids Place! With such beautiful View, very near from downtown and without tourists! I was a little bit surprise when i get there because it really looks like a designer house from Magazin! And she gives many helpful tipps to visit Amsterdam, I find a great second hand Cd shop t hrough her Guide .
Just visit her place and you will also fall in Love to Amsterdam!

  • I had a wonderful stay with Sigrid in her enviably stylish flat in Amsterdam. The whole flat was clean and comfortable and Sigrid is no stranger to Airbnb guests - it was great to read through her guest book. She had lots of advice on things to see and do and it was a nice balance between exploring the city with having a relaxing getaway. I would recommend Sigrid and her flat to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

  • this was our maiden voyage in airbnb. we were a bit skeptical, and running last minute in amsterdam. boy were we impressed!!! sigrid communicated clearly and professionally. she set us up at her beautiful modern apartment, and provided a comfortable vibe. the accommodations were just as advertised, and functioned well for us (two thirty-something americans). she was hospitality plus, and gave many good suggestions for things to do in both the immediate area and the city proper. we cooped up with sigrid for four days and felt like we had the privacy you would expect from a hotel. the area is very safe and the character of her apartment and the neighborhood itself is just what we were looking for - a taste of what living in amsterdam is really like!!! we fell in love with the city, and made a good friend in the process. thanks sigrid!!! five stars!!!

  • Sigrid's place is a great base for anyone exploring Amsterdam. Its located conveniently but still a little bit away from the city's hustle and bustle. The apartment is well service by public transport. Essential amenities like supermarket, cafe is also close by to get one started in Amsterdam.

The apartment itself is very spacious and the room has been set up thoughtfully with a study desk, small fridge, kettle etc. Sigrid is a warm host and was flexible with the length of period i was staying here. She has a log of off beat things to do, so even if you are in Amsterdam for 17days like me, you still won't run out of ideas. She was away for a large part of my stay, but helped me get familiar with the apartment and her instructions were very clear.

She has certainly got her pulse on local events, so if you are keen for advice, she can help you with some. She comes highly recommended from me !!
