It was a great experience using Air BnB. Paula was a great helpful host. Her condo was wonderfully laid out and clean. She had a guest book full of tips of her place and around Traverse City. Her location is so close to downtown.
We had a grand time during our stay-cation in the Grand Traverse Commons. We went to a concert in the newly-renovated Kirkbride Hall (didn't even have to go outside), walked the trails in the woods behind - checking out the newly-renovated barns and botanical garden - and enjoyed the ambience of the condo. It's a wonderful place to stay: quiet yet close to downtown Traverse City, and good food and retail just steps away.
Paula was not able to meet us when we got there, but that was no problem. She gave us crystal clear instructions for where to park, how to get in the building, and how to get into the condo. Inside there was a book with clearly hand-written instructions for everything.
The condo was beautiful and cozy. Big windows with lots of natural light and had really creative decor and lighting options (book even included lighting instructions). The location was great. Just far enough off the main road to remain quite, but close enough to everything to be practical. The shopping mall and downtown area were within just a few minutes and was plenty convenient enough to head up either of the peninsulas to do some wine tasting (which we did). If you aren't interested in doing much sight-seeing, there are plenty of great options within the same building. Blackstar Farms winery was right downstairs with great wine options, two really nice restaurants, and a good coffee shop. Right across the street from the parking lot was a small bakery with scones to die for.
Next time we head up to T.C., this will be the first place we lookup.
Paula was an excellent host! Although we did not have the chance to meet in person, she was very thorough with instruction and made the check-in process easy and effortless. The space was immaculate and in a perfect location! I had an amazing time and I would definitely choose to rent with Paula again. Thanks Paula!
Though we didn't wind up meeting in person Paula was nonetheless a great host and provided very clear and easy arrangements for us to get into the space; she was also very good about prompt communication.
The apartment is very nice, comfortable and in a great location. Particularly handy being 'upstairs' from some great dining options and one of TC's better coffee shops.
Our stay was really a wonderful experience. The condo is light, bright, and airy but cozy at the same time. Very comfortable furnishings and a great kitchen. The view from the windows is nice and the whole place has a nice feel. It doesn't hurt that there are great restaurants right downstairs. We also loved Spanglish and the bakery across the street.
I'm an Artistic "Foodie". I split my time between my studio, part time work at one of the local winerys, making and eating really good food and a variety of outdoor acivities. Traverse City is an ideal place for all of these interests.
