The area offers recreational foreshore areas, natural limestone cliff formations and a very large reserve area. Walking and cycling paths meander along the Swan River foreshore. FREMANTLE‚ known as 'Freo'‚ is Perth's port and maritime playground on the mouth of the Swan River located just a few minutes (by car) and 20 mins from Perth the capital . Interaction with Guests
We look forward to meeting you and are here to welcome you and help where we can. We mainly use separate areas of the house so we offer our guests as much privacy as possible. We do however get on with our normal activities of daily living which includes cleaning, maintenance and gardening.
We like active guests who explore during the day and share their experiences with us in the evening. If guests want to spend ALL DAY/EVERY DAY in bed or hanging around the house, this place is probably not the place for them!
There are popular bars, café's, and restaurants close by the house on the water front along with 2 Yacht Clubs. Sometimes if you are lucky YOU CAN SEE DOLPHINS when walking along the river side. Swans, ducks and pelicans are a regular feature of the river scape along with Yachts and boats etc. There is also Tennis Courts just down the road.
THERE ARE MANY ACTIVITIES AND THINGS OF INTEREST: Brochures and information on many activities/timetables are available in the house. There are quite a number of restaurants, bars and coffee shops within reasonable walking distance. I HAVE A WHOLE LIST (WITH AUTO LINKS) OF THINGS YOU COULD CONSIDER DOING SO IF YOU WOULD LIKE ME TO SEND IT TO YOU LET ME KNOW.
TRANSPORT near the house- There is a bus service to Fremantle or Perth city centre that runs during the day (3 min walk) or another that runs late into the night 1.3 km (12 mins walk).
We are next to the river, beach and Fremantle. Perth City Centre is a short (30 min) bus &/or train trip away. So you have the best of both within easy reach. You can enjoy the quirky atmosphere of Fremantle, take long riverside walks or go to the beach 5 mins away by car.
TRANSPORT from Airport. There is now a bus from the airport which requires 1 bus transfer. Ask me how. A Taxi from the airport is approximately $55-$60 depending on time of day and terminal.
Other Things to Note
Air-conditioning is an evaporative system regulated for whole of house.

Great big house in a very neat neighborhood.
I had a bike to move around (very safe and easy, I definitely recommend that!), not sure how easy it would be with public transportation?
Very close to the Swan river, and not so far from Fremantle, which is a great place!
The room was big and comfortable, with a very nice view. The common area is large and well organized, bathroom is also big, well equipped and clean.
Julie and Ric are very kind and helpful hosts!
A great experience!!
Julie was very welcoming and helped us when we needed it and left us alone when we didn't. The location is great and we had a wonderful time enjoying freo. The room was lovely and very comfortable. Thanks Julie!!!
A very comfortable room in a fantastic location. We didn't spend that much time in the house (we were visiting family for Christmas), but everthing we needed was provided.
Julie gave us some great tips on where to eat and made us feel very welcome.
I would definitely recommend this as a good option for the Fremantle area, and I would stay here again.
Thanks Brigitte for your positive review. Glad you were comfortable and enjoyed your visit to Fremantle. Thanks for your feedback and suggestion also. We do have a light on at night in the atrium stair area which gives an ambient light through the lounge, dining, passage ways. This is on a timer and goes off around midnight. I guess that was a bit early for you guys. I guess if you had mentioned it while here I could have extended the timer.
Also the outside sensor light stays on and gives light inside long enough to find a light switch. Thanks for coming to stay with us.
Julie & Ric were great hosts. Both very friendly, helpful and interesting people. The house is very nice with a good setup and very clean and tidy. The room was more then big enough with ample storage and a nice bed. Julie & Ric provided information about how to get to their place and then whilst their, made sure everything was going well and answered any questions. A very enjoyable stay with two very lovely people.
We were happy to return and were greeted warmly
This was a comfortable and airy room with an outlook down to the river
As a first time experience in BnB I'm a convert. I didn't enjoy my hotel room sojourn in Perth as much as I did with my hosts in their home in East Freo. Joolz and Ric were very helpful in making our stay an experience I won't forget in a hurry. Although we didn't avail ourselves of the lounge room facilities (too tired most nights) we still took full advantage of what was available to us. (Kitchen, dining area, a huge modern bathroom and a great view of Perth from the bedroom). The accommodation was exactly as described in the listing so there was no sense of let down. If you like being within a pleasant short downhill walk to the banks of the Swan estuary in a beautiful neighbourhood then I'd suggest checking out Joolz and Ric's place. They're good people. And no I'm not related. ;-)
The house was very clean and comfortable. Good location, an easy stay. We didn't see much of our host as we only came in to sleep, but she was ready to help with our needs and questions.

We are a down to earth couple that have been lucky to host some really lovely people over a few years. We are generally pretty quiet and a little on the shy side and don’t like to be intrusive. It is our intention to give our guests space but we are available to chat should you wish and we try to help out where we can and want our guests to be comfortable and enjoy their stay with us. We generally reserve some parts of the house for ourselves however there is some areas of overlap. Our aim is to provide a little bit of separation to provide more privacy than would otherwise be possible in a share situation. We like to be at home, generally pottering around (renovating and gardening).
We would really appreciate it if you fill in a bit of your Airbnb profile with picture...so we can put a face to the people who are interested in staying with us...
Our aim is to provide some comfortable and affordable accommodation for travellers, in a gorgeous sort after location. We might be able to assist in local knowledge and tips for getting about. Whilst we want guests to enjoy a comfortable place to stay we are NOT A RESORT and there are limitations to what we can provide. Also if all you want is a place to rest and sleep this is not the place for you.
Have a great stay in the sunny Fremantle and Perth, we hope to have the pleasure to meet you and help you enjoy your stay.
