Why pay for hotel rooms when you can have an entire luxurious home?
Choose Villa Tiferet and you enjoy a 3,800 square-foot home, two courtyards, a rooftop (and more). Steps to shops, shuls and galleries, ideal for large families or celebrations.

The space
This unique home combines history and elegance and makes a perfect getaway for couples or families seeking a kosher vacation in Tsfat. A perfect base to explore northern Israel with Lake Kinneret, Tiberias, Hula, the Golan and Galil nearby.

Guests have free access to the whole house, including a fully-equipped kosher kitchen. Ideal for families, there are board games, puzzles and hundreds of Apple TV movies in the master bedroom plus a large, private courtyard and rooftop.

Here's a quick glance at the layout. Please see the floor plans (displayed as images on this site) for precise details.

One bedroom is in a private cottage that we like to call the Hobbit Cottage. It is accessed from the living room with one step down and has its own private courtyard with sitting area. Step inside to a cozy room with a double bed plus a Moroccan couch that could sleep a child. Ensuite bathroom with shower.

There is a large master bedroom in the main house (also on ground level) with a comfortable kosher king bed and apple TV. The room looks onto the main courtyard. Bathroom with shower. The adjacent library area has a sofa bed that could sleep up to two children, making this area an ideal family suite for up to four guests.

Upstairs, and accessed by an external staircase through the main courtyard, are two more bedrooms. The first features a double bed plus a single with a pullout. It can sleep up to four. There is a washer/dryer in this room plus lots of cupboards. The second room upstairs has a wrought iron double bed plus a single bed with a pullout. If needed, this room can sleep up to four. It also has an ensuite bathroom with toilet and a sink in the bedroom. These two rooms share a bathroom with shower. All rooms have air conditioners and heaters.

We are available to answer all questions before and during your stay. Guests are greeted by English-speaking Tsfat residents who are also around to answer questions.

Our home is accessed by a cobbled laneway and is below the road so it is peaceful and calm. A two-minute walk takes guests to the shops of the main street. Cafes and restaurants are also a few minutes' walk away. The ancient synagogues and galleries of the Old City are a ten-minute walk from the house.

The best way to get around Tsfat is by exploring the old lanes and alleyways by foot and yes, getting lost! There is free parking on the road above the house, so if you bring a car and want to explore the Galil and Golan, we provide maps and tourist information.

We have a crib and high chair available for babies. There is no guaranteed street parking. Cleaning is not provided, although you can request this service for an extra charge.

Guest access
Guests have full use of the house including fully-equipped kitchen, dining room to seat 16, living room with fireplace (winter use only), family room with TV and games, courtyard with cozy pillows and rooftop, perfect for viewing sunsets an stargazing.

Other things to note
VAT
In addition to the AirBNB charge, Israeli guests are required to pay additional 17% Value Added Tax (VAT). In order to be exempt from this tax, during your stay you must provide us with a photo of your passport along with the B2 entry visa that you received upon entry at Ben Gurion Airport.

One more thing to note - we keep Shabbat and if you book your stay starting on a Saturday we can only check you in one hour after the end of the Sabbath. Please keep this in mind and we will work with you to find a solution.

Location

Safed, North District, Israel

Tsfat is a world unto its own. Built on a mountainside, there are spectacular, sweeping views from many vantage points. On winter days, clouds billow into the cobbled alleys, while rainbows often arch above. Tsfat is crisp and quiet in the winter season.
Come spring, the nearby valleys are filled with spring flowers and almond blossoms, beckoning hikers, bikers and nature lovers. Summer skies are a sapphire blue and, in August, mornings are pierced with the sounds of shofars echoing from ancient synagogues. Gnarled vines with bundles of grapes twist along the alleys, while ruby red pomegranates hang from the trees.
Summers are busy with many visitors strolling though the galleries, dining outdoors and visiting the old synagogues. During the Klezmer Festival, Safed transforms as tens of thousands of visitors converge to multiple outdoor stages to hear Klezmer, jazz and modern Israeli music.
Shabbat and the Jewish holidays in Tsfat are especially uplifting and are often accompanied by joyous singing, clapping and dancing. Tsfat is also a mystical city and has a deep connection with kabbalah.
For those seeking outdoor adventure, beautiful nature, unique art, vibrant culture and spirituality, Tsfat is a jewel in Israel's north.
