Where you’ll be

Safed, North District, Israel

Tsfat is a world unto its own. Built on a mountainside, there are spectacular, sweeping views from many vantage points. On winter days, clouds billow into the cobbled alleys, while rainbows often arch above. Tsfat is crisp and quiet in the winter season.
Come spring, the nearby valleys are filled with spring flowers and almond blossoms, beckoning hikers, bikers and nature lovers. Summer skies are a sapphire blue and, in August, mornings are pierced with the sounds of shofars echoing from ancient synagogues. Gnarled vines with bundles of grapes twist along the alleys, while ruby red pomegranates hang from the trees.
Summers are busy with many visitors strolling though the galleries, dining outdoors and visiting the old synagogues. During the Klezmer Festival, Safed transforms as tens of thousands of visitors converge to multiple outdoor stages to hear Klezmer, jazz and modern Israeli music.
Shabbat and the Jewish holidays in Tzfat are especially uplifting and are often accompanied by joyous singing, clapping and dancing. Tsfat is also a mystical city and has a deep connection with kabbalah.
For those seeking outdoor adventure, beautiful nature, unique art, vibrant culture and spirituality, Safed is a jewel in Israel's north.

After falling in love with mystical Tsfat, my husband and I bought an old home there and renovated it. Aside from being uplifted spiritually here in Tsfat, we love to hike the Galil and Golan, mountain bike in Birya and the surrounding mountains and explore the world famous Israeli wineries. We invite you to come and experience the Tsfat we so love.
