Heart of Amsterdam light canal aptm

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Weteringstraat, Amsterdam, North Holland 1017WE, Netherlands

The Space

The newly opened Rijsmuseum is around the corner, 2 minutes!

My place is the most perfect place you can possibly stay in in Amsterdam. It is in a beautiful corner house built around 1900 on the first floor, full of light and nice views through the 6 windows. It is a former nuns house, hence on the corner is a scary looking nun to scare off the evil. It is completely private as no neighbours can look in, and even comes in with a beautiful tower room, where you have full view over the canal (Lijnbaansgracht) and can see the trams at Leidseplein.

For guests with any mobility issues or a disability that prevents you from using stairs, there is one long flight of very steep stairs up to this flat (very common for Amsterdam, but worth keeping in mind).

It is 200 meters or 5 minutes walk to Leidseplein, Vondelpark and Rijksmuseum which will make your stay very special and comfortable.
Shopping street Leidsestraat and PC Hoofdstraat are literally around the corner, and around the house you have plenty of Art Galleries and antique storesto sneak around.

The area in where my apartment is at is called de Weteringbuurt due to all street names starting with Wetering, and sometimes also the Spiegel area, due to the Spiegelstraat which is famous all around the world for the antique stores.

There are 2 majore bicycle rentals 3 minute walk away, and public transport hub Leidseplein is 2 minutes walk: Tram 1,2,5, 7 and 10 cross there. Trams 24 and 25 pass Weteringcircuit which is 1 minute away.

The location is perfect because you are in the middle of everything, yet it is very quiet with beautiful views on the canal with the private boots passing along, and the street with the bicycles and people strolling through Amsterdam.

The studio comes with all luxury facilities, kitchen, coffee machine, fridge, washing machine, dryer, couch, table, separate bathroom with large windows at the back.

Welcome to Amsterdam, welcome home!

  • Volker's apartment is an ideal home base in Amsterdam. It's a cozy, modern, tidy space with beautiful canal views. After a day of exploring the city, we were so happy to come back to the apartment and relax. The location is simply amazing-- within walking distance of almost everything you might want to see. I highly recommend it!

  • Feeling at home in this wonderful little flat! Bart waited for us for giving us keys and instructions and we ended up having a nice chat. The flat is very clean and comfy, there is everything in the kitchen to cook a romantic dinner with view on the canal. Round the corner there is a great bio market open until 8pm. JUST BOOK IT!

  • This little apartment is exactly what anyone could hope for when looking for an authentic stay in Amsterdam. It is in a prime location — no more than 15 minutes bike ride to anywhere (and honestly, more like 5 minutes to the major touristic sites), and it is a 5 minute walk to Museumplein. The apartment itself - warm, very bright, with a washer, dryer, wonderful hot shower, and pretty view of a canal. We got lucky with weather, it was sunny and warm and breezy throughout our March visit, so we left the windows open and had fun enjoying the street life below. I can't recommend it enough. This little place made me want to move to Amsterdam!

  • Volker's apartment was perfect for our visit to Amsterdam: bright, cheerful, clean, well-equipped, peaceful and comfortable. Very good location, just away from the traffic and crowd noise, but easy walk to most places, and otherwise easy to catch the tram. Volker's friend Bart met us, and was very helpful in making sure everything was sorted for our stay.

  • Such a lovely place to stay with its bright colours and view over the canal, we really enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and thanks to the convenient location it was easy to get to wherever you need to go. The apartment has everything you need to cook dinner or wash your clothes, very handy.
Thanks for letting us stay, we hope to come back again!

  • A great welcome from Volker's friend Bart. Lovely light, comfortable apartment, sun through the windows!

So close to the Museums and good places to eat.

A lovely break in a lovely city

  • A brilliantly positioned apartment for exploring Amsterdam, we loved looking across the canal to the Rijksmuseum and hearing the chimes from the carousel. We had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and easy.

  • We had a fabulous time in the apartment, it is clean, light, warm and has a nice view over the canal. It's in a great position for Museumplein. We didn't actually meet Volker- but his friendly mate Bart. The stairs going up are steep - but it's not a problem. Would definitely recommend it and would go again next time we go to Amsterdam.
