Quick responses to my rental inquiry and great communication throughout, with thorough confirmation texts and a brochure at the house. Everything was as expected, the house was clean, beds all made and plenty of towels and TP, etc. Hot tub was on and hot when we arrived--great for the weather which got colder during our stay! Fenced back yard was perfect for our canine buddy who came along, and we were grateful that he was allowed to join us. Convenient location, easy walk to downtown and a quick drive to lots of restaurants, shopping. Only ding was that the circuit breaker for the hot tub kept tripping, I alerted the host when we left and judging by their general responsiveness I'm sure they will address that issue.
The house was clean and nothing fancy, just simple and comfortable for a couple nights. It's a very close walk to Crux, Boneyard and downtown, even in the snow. The hot tub was a welcome bonus.
Description was accurate except that there are 4 beds instead of the listed 3! Location is perfect for the beer lover: Boneyard and Crux are each about a 2 minute walk, and downtown Bend is also within walking distance. The place was well-stocked with plates, cups, and towels. No shampoo in the shower and no hand soap by the kitchen sink. One of the beds had a slightly dirty comforter but nothing too egregious. The rest of the house was clean and overall Andy was a great host. Would definitely stay again!
Andy and his team are great! They were very fast, easy with which to work, and had very clear instructions. I like that you checked in and out via text message- super convenient!
The house itself was just adequate. It was obvious that it is in the process of being renovated, but overall it suited our needs. Things that could be a bit better: The towels were left in the dryer, which I didn't realize until the second day. We were limping by on one towel each, no floor mats for the bathroom, no wash clothes, etc. Also, the hot tub was a nice addition, but the water was a bit scummy (I think the previous users must have had on a lot of sunblock- I kinda hoped that the water would have been changed.). Also, the bed linens were clearly not washed, aside from the sheets and the pillow cases. I suppose staying in hotels with washable duvet covers has spoiled me! Also, there was a patio set outside, but we couldn't find the cushions for the chairs, so we didn't use it.
The good things: The location was pretty great- it was right next to Crux and Boneyard breweries and within walking distance to Bond Street (aka downtown). The yard was huge! Our dog loved hanging out there, and we enjoyed relaxing on the lawn chairs. There was a nice grill available, but we opted to try new restaurants instead of eating in for most meals. Also, the street that the house is located on is a quiet residential one, and all of the neighbors were very friendly.
Overall, I would definitely recommend staying at one of Andy's places again, and I would even recommend staying here- especially if you were planning to spend a significant amount of time out and about in Bend. I would have given this location 5 stars if the interior were a bit more updated and attention had been paid to some of the details (better bed linens, clean towels and outdoor chair cushions readily available, cleaner hot tub, etc.).
Great location in a quiet neighborhood. Some cleaning issues but was more than acceptable overall. Would definitely stay again as you can walk to great restaurants and breweries.
This palce was great! Amazing location, walkable to everything. We didn't have to drive the whole time we were there. The hot tub and everything worked perfectly. Most importantly the host was professional and reassuring, which has not always been my experience. What an amazing visit!
Thanks so much Andy!
