James's apartment was a perfect home for my time in the DF. My travelling companion and I made extensive use of the kitchen and enjoyed our conversations with Adrian and another guest. It was fun to pretend to be a Condesa resident for a few days... what a life.
I want to thank James for letting me stay at his lovely apartment in Condesa. Apartment was spacious, quiet and neatly decorated and Adrian was always very polite and helpful. As far as neighborhood and location are concerned you can’t ask for better. Condesa is very trendy, safe and full of restaurants and evening entertainment. Amsterdam is a lovely tree lined street with a charming walking/jogging path that loops around Parque Espana. There are plenty of good restaurants to eat within walking distance and can be found discovering the neighborhood.
The room I stayed in was very comfortable and had a spacious bathroom. The bed was equally comfortable and I had a good night’s rest every evening. The building is very secure and has a doorman.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Jame's place.
I had a very pleasant stay here. Condesa is a wonderful neighborhood, warmly recommended. James was helpful and responded within an hour to all my enquiries. My only slight negative note is about the quality of the wifi in the premises. It was at times really bad, and if this is crucial to ur stay u need to keep that in mind. Otherwise happy camping.
If you are looking for a home away from home in Mexico City, this is the place. The neighborhood is great too -- green and full of coffee shops, restaurants and parks. And best part was dealing with James -- he is a great host, very flexible, very helpful and great to talk to.
Amsterdam 43 is my home away from home. I grew up in Mexico City (el DF) and have recently started replacing unbearable July in Phoenix with July in el DF. This last month was the best vacation I have ever had. It is not for everybody. For me, the 24/7 street noise is what I call the Mexico City Symphony and this apartment is prime seating. Condesa is a young, noisy neighborhood, with lots of beautiful parks, tree laden, shady streets international restaurants, and dogs of all kinds. I could and did walk everywhere from there, Polanco, Zócalo, Auditorio, with the exception of Coyacán and San Angel, which were an easy ride on the metrobus. Zona Rosa and Reforma are a 10 minute walk. Mexico City has the worst sidewalks in the world, and Condesa is no exception. Always wear shoes which will enable you to navigate. I loved spending the mornings in the parks watching the expert dog trainers working with as many as 40 neighborhood dogs at time, perfectly behaved. Plenty of rentable bicycles everywhere.
The hosts are the best. James has an abundance of friends and shares them freely. It feels great to have a base while I recover my city. The apartment is fully decorated with quality artesanía and all the furniture is beautifully carved from a rare wood found only in the southern part of Mexico and Central America. James is extremely knowledgeable about México and takes very good care of his guests. He is on the 7th floor of a building that is guarded 24/7. The views from the roof are spectacular 360͒ of the entire city, and the apartment itself looks directly onto the old hipódromo (race track) around which Condesa is built.
This trip was my first AirBnB experience and I’m a believer! It’s life changing. I did my first Uber experience, as well. Looking forward to next year.
James couldn't have been more helpful....esp in giving great advice about getting around Mexico in Holy Week! (Not easy!) His apartment in Condesa was really comfortable and cosy, very well appointed and conveniently located. We had a great stay. Would highly recommend.
James reached out to me to make sure I understood the basics of how to get to his place from the airport, as well as to offer suggestions on great things to do in Mexico. The whole trip went off without a hitch and I would stay there again. The neighborhood is great and a subway stop is an easy 20 min walk away.
