Alberto was a very sweet host who served us the most wonderful breakfast- all homemade! We would love to come back and stay at his beautiful place again.
It was true paradise. We enjoyed Orvieto and then coming down off the mountain to relax and take siestas by the pool. The view from the pool are exquisite. Absolutely charming atmosphere with very caring hosts. Do NOT miss an opportunity to stay here!
We were made welcome. The house and setting is very lovely. Just like the photos. Clean and quiet. The house is located on the road up to the old city. So great location. Free parking. The breakfast was amazing, so much food and fresh homemade baking. The best breakfast!!
We had a wonderful stay at Alberto's beautiful property. We arrived by train from Rome and although Alberto couldn't collect us he or Francesca, his daughter, normally will. They took us back to the station which was helpful. The accommodation is spotless, the bedrooms comfortable and spacious. Air Conditioning is available for an extra 10 Euros. We didn't use at it as were able to open windows back and front to get a welcome draught. Breakfast was served under the vine covered terrace and was a cold buffet with home grown peaches, tomato bruschetta and delicious home made cakes as well as the usual eggs etc. The pool was fantastic and so refreshing in the heat. There were plenty of loungers and chairs with several large parasols to provide shade in the afternoon. Orvieto, perched high on a volcanic plug, is a 5 minute drive up hairpin bends. 15 Euros in a taxi or a stiff 15 minute walk to the top of town and a further 10minutes to the Duomo. We did it twice most days but you do need to be fit. We were in Orvieto for a wedding and felt quite smug as everyone else was in the town which is a maze of beautiful narrow street but not even the top hotel had a pool! Loved Orvieto which has the third largest Duomo in Italy and very few tourists especially in the evening when the day trippers have gone. Surrounding countryside is stunning as is the local Orvieto Classico.
We had a very nice stay here although it was short (only one night). Alberto and his wife were nice and showed us nice places to eat etc! The wifi in the room didnt work that well but it worked very good near swimming pool. The location was sooooo beautiful!
Værterne var så smilende og hjælpsomme ved spørgsmål, fx om ruter og sightseeings og restauranter. De var altid meget imødekommende ved henvendelser.
