The Space

Dear visitors of Amsterdam!

This renovated apartment was built in 1926 in the style of architecture "The Amsterdam School". It is situated on the 3th and 4th floor, just next to one of the biggest parks in town.

The eastern part of Amsterdam is one of 'upcomming' neighbourhoods of the city. At the moment a lot of young creative people move in and bring nice admophere, bars and start-up companies.

A 7 minute walk to the railway station Amsterdam Muiderpoort & only about 15 minutes to the Amsterdam city centre by a bike. You can use two of our bikes for free!

Your room is about 16m2, has a brand new double bed, a small table and two chairs, a big roof terrace with a table, four chairs and a plant...

Since 2014 we´ve got 2 small kids, Dima and Ramses, which means we´ve become more child friendly but also a bit more noisy. And we warn you, there are toys everywhere!

We're looking forward to meet you!

  • Pieter-Bas & Sophie we so friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we did not get to use the bikes due to poor weather during our stay, but they were parked right outside the house and ready for us to use any time we might have needed them. The room was comfy and had tons of guides and maps to reference, as well as Pieter-Bas and Sophie having lots of good recommendations themselves.

  • Visiting amsterdam, my girlfriend and I wanted to have an authentic experience, and not the simple redlight district x coffeeshop weekend. Pieter-Bas ans Sophie welcomed us warmly, directly showing us the most useful thing you can have in 'Dam.. the bikes! With free-to-use maps and guides in the the room ( which features a balcony) we visited the whole city..coming back to the appartement whenever we wanted. Simplicity, freedom and authenticity are the words to qualify this trip! We fell in love with this city. To do ASAP !

  • Pieter-Bas and Sophie were great hosts, and the apartment's location was a nice introduction to Amsterdam east. The room was lovely and we slept very well, perched at the top of the house with the balcony door open to the air. On our loaned bicycles we went everywhere we wanted to go - this is the best thing a host could do for you! Thanks, you guys. And I have never met a toddler who laughs as much as Dima. We felt very welcomed and part of the household.

  • We really enjoyed staying with Pieter-Bas and Sophie -- they were very friendly and fun to talk to and also very helpful in giving us tips on where to go and how to get around. The location was great and staying with them made our trip very stress-free. The room is clean and has a large library which we enjoyed browsing through and the bed is very comfortable. They also had some books about Amsterdam and maps that we could borrow. Being able to use the bikes was great -- we took them out everyday and had no problems (we were one short person and one tall person and they fit just fine; also one had pannier bags that were handy to use). There's a great bakery (de bakker van oost) a short bike ride away from their place too. The family was very warm and friendly and Dima was a very charming little boy -- we were sad to say goodbye to him on the morning we left. We would definitely stay here again.

  • Pieter & Sophie were very nice hosts, always welcoming and willing to talk.
The room they prepared for us was cozy and had a great balcony.
They let us use their washing machine and lend us their bikes.
Plus, if you want your kid(s) to have a nice multilingual chat with another baby, this place is the best.
    Thank you guys!
