About this listing
If you like to stay in Amsterdam in a different more personal way than a hotel our guestroom might be something for you!
We live with our small family with two sons Dima (2011) and Ramses (2014) in a renovated apartment built in 1926 in the style of architecture "The Amsterdam School". It is situated on the 3th and 4th floor, just next to one of the biggest parks in town.
The eastern part of Amsterdam is one of 'upcomming' neighbourhoods of the city. At the moment a lot of young creative people move in and bring nice admophere, bars and start-up companies.
A 7 minute walk to the railway station Amsterdam Muiderpoort & only about 15 minutes to the Amsterdam city centre by a bike. You can use two of our bikes for free!
Your room is about 16m2, has a brand new double bed, a small table and two chairs, a big roof terrace with a table, four chairs and a plant...
Since we´ve got 2 small kids, Dima and Ramses, which means we're very child friendly but also a bit more noisy. And there are toys everywhere!
We warn you: we're not a hotel, more travelers in our own house. So if you're not into meeting new people you'll be better of in a youth hostel or a hotel. Otherwise: you're very welcome and we're looking forward to meet you!
My 16 year old daughter and I spent 5 days in Peter-Bas and Sophie's lovely apartment in October. Unfortunately they were away themselves, but we were shown round by their friend who kindly lent us her travel cards. The apartment was light, warm and very quiet. The bikes were great especially the bright pink one, we cycled everywhere. Would recommend staying in this interesting area.
Pieter and Sophie were very accommodating, we reached early in the morning. They had given us good instructions on how to reach the place. Everything(bed, books for visitors, instructions etc) was neatly arranged by the time we reached. Even though they were planning a trip out that day, they spent good amount time with us, making us comfortable with the surrounding area and helping with our plans for Amsterdam. Sophie even gave us lessons on riding bicycle :) They have good set of books to help the visitors to go around Amsterdam. The place is very close to the tram station you could easily trams to go to central as well as to the museums. We stayed for 2 nights and had a great time.
Sophie and Pieter were extremely helpful. Their place was great. Amazing balcony! Bikes were very useful.
Pieter and Sophie are friendly the room has all the comfort you could want and bikes are an excellent way to reach the city. for people sensitive to noise there are two children in the house :)
