Interaction with Guests
I work most part of my day at a different area of town, so I spend most part of my day away. Still, I really like to host and make the experience of my guest the best (website hidden) dinner one night, going out for a bar close by or spending some time together during the weekends is totally possible. Love the idea.
Santa Cecilia is all about life. Once a fancy area of the city, its become famous as a bohemian area a few decades ago and now its being rediscovered by Paulistano as one pf the trendiest parts of the city. Lots of little old shops are side by side to new ones; restaurants from Brazilian to Italian and Jewish cuisine all close by. Famous padarias all over, and the green and sophisticated area of Higienopolis is just a few blocks up. Definitely my favorite place in the city. Hope it becomes yours too. :)
Subway station (Santa Cecilia) 1,5 block way. Bus stops in front of the building, one, two and three block away (depending on where you are going). 24/7 Taxi stop on the corner
Other Things to Note
This is a non-smoking appartment. You can go downstair and have your cigarrete, if that is the case. Not a big deal.
I'm quite an easy going guy -- we can talk about the rules of the house whenever you get here. No big worries!
What to say about Filipe? The best host you can imagine! I stayed two months at his place and always felt at home. First because of the great apartment and the awesome location, second and more important because Filipe is a charming and great host. I loved to talk with him about life in Brazil or life in general, to get his advices where to go for dinner, what to see in São Paulo etc. He speaks English perfectly, but nevertheless we always talked in portuguese, because I wanted to improve my language skills. Thanks to Filipe I can really communicate in Brazil ; ) If you want to stay somewhere in São Paulo where you feel at home, you have to stay at Filipe's place... I will miss the time in São Paulo with Filipe, but I know that we gonna see us again - where ever in this world. Thanks Filipe, I had a great time!
The apartment was just as pictured. It's well decorated and comfortable, very close to the subway, a grocery store and some restaurants. The area the apartment is located felt safe, the sidewalks are well lit. I never felt I was in danger, even walking back to the apartment at night alone. Filipe was a great host, always offering recommendations on things to do or places to eat. He's a really laid back guy, we didn't have any problems at all. We actually hung out a couple of times with some of his friends and had a good time. I had a great experience staying here and would definitely recommend it to anyone.
