We love hosting outdoor and active people, especially world travelers! We have a great 2 bedroom house with a huge backyard and lots of toys. This listing is for a room, which comes with 2 bikes! You can also rent out the entire house!
If you want to have fun on your trip to Austin, you've found the right listing! We live in in a great neighborhood in a nice house and we know how to have good clean fun. We'd love to have you join us for a few nights or a week.
You'll get a bike (or two) with your booking and we will gladly invite you to join us in whatever we are doing for that day.
Our house has 2 bedrooms. If you prefer the entire house, please see our other listing. You can see those other listings on the right side of your screen.
We enjoy meeting new people and want you to see the best of austin.
The short: Our house is great. It's a central location where you can bike most places.
We have done AirBnB for three years and recently moved to this house with you in mind. Check out our reviews and rest assured that we are completely legal with the City of Austin.
Attractions & restaurants within walking/biking distance: St. Edwards University, Curra's mexican restaurant, Whip Inn, Starbucks, Hop Doddy, South Congress Cafe, Magnolias, Opal Divines, Hey Cupcake, Homeslice pizza.
Convention center is 2 miles away and really easy to get to. Airport is 15 minutes away and also really easy to drive there.
You can easily bike anywhere else in the city, and most of the times you can get there by biking the protected bike trail along the downtown river. The trails are safe, scenic, and fun.
The Whole Foods Flagship Grocery store is 2.3 miles away. It is good for people who like to eat healthy. Its a grocery store but it also has several eat-in options as well. The backyard is massive and totally enclosed by a privacy fence.
Now for the PLAY part: We have a tons of toys and we don't mind sharing. Think of us as local guides and not just someone who passes you the key. We would love for you to borrow our kayaks or canoe, and you must ride our bikes around the town lake trail. For those who really like the play, I would love to take you scuba diving the spring water, or you can borrow our snorkel gear and use it at Barton Springs. We also have golf clubs and disc golf frisbee's we wouldn't mind letting you borrow if you ask.
We can also help you find: good mountain biking trails, some spelunking, hiking trails, a place to surf the river, the best lookouts, secret springs, and alot more. Search "Aaron Guidehop" to see where I give other people local tours of outdoor adventures.
If you need a rental car, we have those too! We rent using a site called relay rides. I bet you can find my convertibles on there. We also have motorcycles and scooters. One has a sidecar!
The bottom line: We live in a nice house in the great neighborhood. You can ride our bikes anywhere you need to go and we will go out of our way to make sure you enjoy your time in Austin. What are you waiting for.... come Stay & Play!
You'll have access to everything except the master bedroom. Please take out our bicycles and kayaks!
Interaction with Guests
We like to play tour guide as much as possible. Most people enjoy it when we take them with us along on our adventures. We've taken people to play frisbee golf, barton springs, kayaking, surfing, etc. The more the merrier as far as I'm concerned, but we can respect your privacy too. We'll invite you to everything and you come or go, no worries!
We live just south of the area called Travis Heights and a short distance from South Congress in a tucked away neighborhood near St. Edwards University. There are lots of shops and restaurants nearby. There is a good grocery store less than a mile away. Our neighborhood has a lot of hiking trails through numerous nature preserves.
There are plenty of bus stops nearby, but using UBER is even better. Use the code: C2AJM to get $20 off your first ride.
Other Things to Note
Look through all of our photos. I try to show you fun stuff to do around Austin and those things are mixed in with our photos. We will go the extra mile to make sure you have a great trip. Our 150+ reviews will show you that!
We are pretty laid back; however, we ask that you respect our neighborhood and keep it down after 10pm. Smoking is fine outside of the house. Please wash your own dishes and clean up after yourself.
Aaron and Darby were excellent hosts! Their space is exactly as described, clean, bright, and comfortable! They offered a pick up service and were right on time, lent us bikes, offered a little advice on orientation and made us feel right at home! The neighborhood was quiet and close to downtown, soco, UT etc. Our only regret was not having enough time to hang out with them--they both seem really cool and we would have liked to get to know them better!
The listing was exactly as described. Nice and clean place. The neighborhood and place was quiet and super close to just about everything which is nice. Big back yard too. My wife and I felt really comfortable staying at Aaron's place. He was actually out of town so he wasn't there but made every effort to stay in touch and be accommodating. Very happy overall and will stay there again.
Aaron and Darby were great! They were very incredibly accommodating with our 'fly by the seat of our pants travel' plans (thanks again guys!). The location is fantastic! You are right near south congress, and even have access to a little trail system in the neighborhood, which was great for a quick morning run. Their space is cozy and clean. Beware travelers that are used to a firm bed, this one is very, very soft. Thanks again Aaoron and Darby, we will definitely return when we come back to Austin :)
Aaron's home was very lovely and comfortable. He and his wife Darby are also very friendly and super accommodating...just wish we had more time in Austin to chill on the hammock in his backyard. Location is perfect, only take us around 3 minutes driving to 6th street. We would definitely recommend these guys, and stay there again!
House: Aaron and his lovely wife Darby were great hosts. This room was the perfect size for 2 people and -- the bed was the MOST comfortable bed I've stayed on at an AirBnB. Would absolutely stay again when in Austin!
City Proximity: Neighborhood is super cute to walk around - but is about a 20 min walk to S Congress (plus they have bikes + scooters to use). Best part - Aaron has an Uber code for new users so we both used it and got a free ride (up to $20) to downtown Austin and back one night!
Aaron and Darby made our first airBNB experience a great one. The room was cozy and the home beautifully decorated. It's minutes from downtown and a short bike ride to S. Congress where you can find a bunch of cute shops, galleries and food trucks.
Aaron was very flexible on our arrival and check out time and he and his wife offered great suggestions for attractions and food options since it was our first time in Austin and we hadn't done much preparation.
He even lent us a book written by a personal friend of theirs which showcased numerous food trucks in the area along with recipes. (We sampled some and I've already ordered my own copy! :P)
We also really appreciated Aaron loaning us his portable charger and car adaptor.
Super fast communication the entire time. We'll be back for sure!
I had a great experience staying with Aaron. He was an amazing host. He offered me his bikes for me to use and he was willing to help me in anyway during my stay. The house is very cozy - my room was great and everything super clean. I will definitely stay with Aaron next time I'm in Austin.

Hi, my name is Aaron. I am your ultimate peer-to-peer host in Austin. I rent out my house, my cars, I give rides using Uber, and even give local tours! I'm all in.
I have been hosting on AirBnB for about 4 years now and I love it.
I love travel and adventure and i'm always excited about something. One thing you should know about me is that I never stop. It seems like there are never enough hours in the day for me. Around Austin, I like to: kayak, scuba dive, surf the river, play unicycle football, host island parties, ride my mountain bike and so much more. I'd love to have you tag along if you are up for that kind of activity.
I travel as much as possible. I've been to more than 40 countries and usually get around via hitchhiking. Some of my favorite places are: New Zealand, Cuba, Laos, Spain, Costa Rica & Switzerland. I recently went on a kayaking excursion through Mexico and snowboard as much as possible in Colorado.
In 2014, I helped rebuild a sailboat and sailed it to Cuba and beyond! I will be traveling all of september through Sweeden, Norway, & Croatia!
I believe that a world traveler is the ideal host. I want to make sure you have the best time possible. For me, air bnb is a lifestyle. I like to make sure our guests get the best Austin experience by inviting them to come along on my adventures and live like a local. The best guests are the ones who accept an invitation to join my friends and I and have a few travel stories of their own to share.
My listings are different than most because I'm going to show half photos of my house and then some photos of my favorite things to do in Austin. You can find a comfy bed anywhere on AirBnB, but you should choose me if you want the best insights into outdoors activities in Austin, especially if you are looking for someone to show you those places and provide any gear necessary.
If you want to see what type of fun we could have around Austin, use any search engine and type in the words aaron guidehop to see my profile. its a similar service to airbnb except for local tours and activities rather than accommodation.
I do have two houses in Austin. One is next to St. Edwards University near the area called "South Congress" or "SOCO" and the other is right beside Zilker Park and Barton Springs in an area called "Barton Hills" they are both really close to the city center and a few minutes from anywhere in downtown!
Staying with me is better because: You will always have access to good bicycles for free, I can pick you up from the airport most of the time, I can introduce you to a million people in austin & make good recommendations for your urban exploring, you can borrow my kayaks and canoe, I will invite you to join in nearly everything I do, I will make your stay easy and fun!
