The Space

Fantastic Location, 30 Seconds from Cours Saleya (perfectly placed for Food Lovers!), 1 Min From Beaches!!!
Sleeps 2 (One bedroom apartment)
In the southern part of the Old Town of Nice (but only 500 meters from the bus terminal, 250 meters from the harbour, 20 minutes taking from the airport and a few minutes from railways stations – Nice Ville and Nice Riquier), this perfectly positioned comfortable and recently renovated apartment is a 30 seconds stroll from the Cours Saleya -the very heart of NICE with its famous flowers, fruit /vegetable, antique markets and its numerous cafés/pubs/restaurants - and just 60 seconds walk from the beaches of the fantastic Promenade des Anglais. The site has been renovated last year including brand new plumbing and electrics. The independent kitchen and the surprisingly roomy bathroom are also brand new and high quality. The bathroom shower tray is one of largest that could be fitted in this space. A perfect proof that you can live with today's hi-technology in the yesterday's Old Nice. You will nevertheless have to go down thirty steps to go to bring back, from the bakery of the corner, the morning "croissants" or opposite, to savour the best ice creams of the region by Maitre Fenocchio.
A real “nest of love” in the “Coeur de Nice” (the heart of Nice)

  • Location, location, it is in a great spot. Old Nice is where you are with the locals and tourists. Short and easy walk to the beach and to walk the promenade. Apartment was clean and served our purposes perfectly! Monica has excellent communications with her customers and gets back to you instantly. Trip advisor says it is a bit noisy at night and that is probably true. But wear ear plugs or put up with it because it is where you want to be. We would stay there again in a heart beat!!!

  • Monica's flat is right in the middle of Vieille Ville (the old city). It is literally about 50m from the beach, and right next to the food/antique/flea/flower markets. The apartment has all the necessities that one would need for the stay. Monica was flexible with check-in&check-out times which was pleasant for us. We will definitely stay at this flat again when we're back in Nice!

  • We had a great time staying here! It location couldn't be better. Very close to everything. The apartment was spacious and clean. It's a big plus having the Air Conditioner as it does get pretty humid in the summer. Monica was on Holidays so we met with their friend Maxime. He was nice and easy to get a hold of via text message. I would recommend staying here for sure! Thanks Monica!

  • Monica was great with communication and flexible with our schedule. We really enjoyed the location of her apartment! We loved being five minutes from the beach and in the hustle and bustles of restaurants and unique shops! We highly recommend her place for a romantic weekend and she had all the tools to cook food straight from the market a minute walk from her place! We would definitely stay in her place again!

    Response from Monica:

Hi Alexis and Peter, thank you for your kind words. As my husband and I like cooking and above all tasting "our productions" we are very glad that you've appreciated the kitchen and its tools we particularly take care of. Hoping to host you again MONICA

  • Monica and Julian were the perfect hosts, we couldn't have asked for better. The apartment is well equipped, clean and in a great location in the old town, very close to restaurants and the beach. Would definitely stay here again when in Nice!

Hi Kellie and Adam, thanks a lot for your kind words. We wish you other fantastic trips with Airbnb, and, although you live in the other side of the word (from our point of view) :-) we would be really glad to meet you again!!! M and J

  • The location of Monica's apartment is pretty much perfect if you want to experience typical Nice. It's in the Old Town, in a narrow street, very close to the beach and just around the corner from Cours Saleya, where the flower and fruit/veg market is. Lots of restaurants nearby, although I think the prices in Nice are so high you're better off cooking at home. There doesn't seem to be a proper supermarket nearby, but it's not far to Place Garibaldi.

It can be quite loud at night, so sleeping with open windows is perhaps not a good idea, but there is air conditioning, so that shouldn't be a problem.

The apartment is well-equipped and nicely laid-out. All in all, it's definitely one to recommend - as long as you don't mind the noise.

  • Very nice apartment located in the heart of "vieux Nice" (old town part) with nice bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Ideal for two persons. The apartment location allows you do everything using public transports or by walking. Lot of restaurants and shops very near by.
    An apartment/owner i really recommend.
If we go back to Nice in the future, we will try to book it again if available.

  • Another American friend and I stayed at Monica's apartment in May 2013, and we had a great time! The apartment was very clean and had everything we needed. The apartment includes a full kitchen and bathroom, both with up-to-date appliances. Monica was very organized and responsive both leading up to our visit and during our visit. This was our first time visiting Nice, and she was very helpful in answering my questions about the location and helping us check-in and check-out based on our travel itinerary.
The location is amazing! The apartment is right in the heart of old town, near lots of bars, cafes, restaurants, etc. We were also just a minute's walk from the flower market, which is really fun and we enjoyed buying fresh fruit and baguette and cheese there to eat in the apartment or at the beach, which was about a two minute walk from the apartment. Monica also provides plenty of kitchen tools and pots/pans to be able to make a full meal if you'd like to try the market's array of fresh meats, fish, and vegetables as well. The market space also turns into extra seating for the surrounding restaurants at night, making it a fun spot with lots of music and dining options. There is a lot to explore right in old town, but we did also explore the old port and walked further down the promenade to where the big hotels are located - neither was a long walk. Along the promenade, there are both public beaches as well as ones where you can pay to relax in a chair - we enjoyed the reasonably-priced and nearby Opera Plage. It is easy to access the tram to the train station from the apartment, as well as catch a bus. We loved Nice itself, and also found it a great home -ase from which we took day trips to Cannes, Monaco, St. Paul de Vence, Grasse, and even into the Alps. I would definitely stay here again and hope I have the opportunity to some day!

  • The appartement from Monica and Julian is great and both are really warm and helpfull hosts! Julian picked me up from the bus station so it was a nice welcome. The Location is fantastic. You can find everything around- nice restaurants, bars, a market and as well the seaside is just a few meters away. As well the innercity and the port are close and easy to reach by foot.
In the appartement we found everything we needed and as well a bottle of sparkling wine as welcome gift. It's perfect for two person. I can recommend it without hesitation. Thanks a lot!

  • Monica and Jules apartment is just as described in the heart of Old Town. If you want to be close to everything this is the place to stay. Your neighbors include the best ice cream shop, bakery, and spice shop in the area. The late foot traffic noise is the only negative about the area but unavoidable if your wanting to stay in right in Old Town during travel season. The beach is an easy walk, we also traveled outside Nice using the very inexpensive bus lines which start only a few blocks away from the place. On arrival Jules met us at the tram stop and walked us to the place. He was very accommodating and fun to talk with. Make sure if you stay here to listen to the recommendations for restaurants and book early! We would definitely stay here again.
