About this listing

"Treetops" is a little touch of heaven! Away from the hustle and bustle - the office desk or the paddocks - our unique house offers an escape that is both functional and picturesque.

The space

South Durras is situated in the Murramarang National Park on the south coast of NSW, Australia. It is utterly unspoilt & the birdlife/wildlife are unique.'Treetops' is situated in this quiet and very private, eco-friendly environment. It is a two storey wood cabin comprising 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/family room, laundry and a large spacious deck with a fabulous view. Just gorgeous during summer when the days are warm & the beach beckons but also lovely in winter when you can relax next to a wood fire and enjoy an array of DVDs, CDs, Books and games. There is kayaking, surfing, fishing, swimming, bushwalking and bike riding - a perfect retreat or action-packed holiday.

oOur house is strictly NON-SMOKING and PET FREE.
oPlease be reminded that linen is not provided. There is one queen sized bed upstairs and a king bed in the main bedroom; one queen bed and single bunk beds downstairs. If you have forgotten any linen, you can contact us on our mobile and I can arrange for linen at the added expense of $80. All beds have mattress protectors, pillows and pillow protectors, summer cotton blankets, doonas and doona covers.
oPlease enjoy the BBQ outside. To light BBQ: turn on gas at cylinder, turn right hand knob to ignition setting until gas ignites. PLEASE turn off gas bottle when cooking is completed. Please leave a note for Virginia to let her know if gas bottle needs to be filled. There are replacement gas bottles at Benandarah Petrol Station.
oWe also ask that visitors make an effort to clean the BBQ after each use and leave it clean for others. There are special cleaning cloths for the outside stainless steel component, and others for cleaning the grill and hot plate. We thank you for your co-operation in this matter.
oHow-to-use manuals are in the olive green box in cupboard above the fridge.
oPlease read the laminated instructions about the TV and surround sound system – these can be found on top of the stereo equipment. It is quite a complicated system and all too often visitors touch and change things on the remote and don’t follow the instructions which leads to problems.
oWe are very mindful of water usage. There is one tank (outside laundry) that provides water for the house. The two tanks under the veranda are gazetted local fire water tanks. PLEASE USE WATER WISELY and watch those teenage sons and daughters!! Please don’t wash cars.
oPlease note that there is a septic system for the toilets and no sanitary objects are to be flushed – bins are provided.
oThere is a sturdy clotheshorse for drying and lines on the veranda.
oThere is a mini-soccer game table downstairs – please ensure that you use the protective covering provided for the coffee table when playing.
oWe have recently had a number of complaints from neighbours of noisy behaviour from our house. Of course we want you to have a happy time but if you could be mindful of your neighbours and turn the music down at midnight, that would be great!
oDuring winter, the wood combustion heater keeps the house warm and cosy. Wood under the carport (right hand side as you drive in) and newspaper in the cupboard next to the stove, matches and firelighters in the pantry, are provided when the weather turns cold around April/May.
oThere is a reverse-cycle air conditioner in the lounge. The remote control is found on the wall in the kitchen above the bins. If you have problems with it, try turning off the electricity at the mains switch (outside laundry) and turning the air con/heating back on.
oIf by any chance you have a need to get into the area under the house, the key for the lock can be found on the key ring holder in the kitchen upstairs. It is attached to a keyring with miniature Russian dolls. We have locked this area because things have
been stolen. However if any problem should occur with the pump (eg. if it keeps turning on and off and you are not using any water), you can access that area with the key and turn it off. The best thing to do in that instance is to call our Manager Virginia. In case of anything happening and water upstairs is affected, the downstairs shower/toilet is on a different pump and still accessible – and visa versa of course!

This cottage is the bush has everything you could ask for. Peace and quiet, wildlife and a fully equipped kitchen. Kids were satisfied and entertained with all the toys, games and scooters. They loved shooting down the little driveway! We used the fireplace which was a novelty for us and as all the remarks in their visitors book said, we loved feeding all the different varieties of birds that came right up to the balcony throughout the day. A definite little oasis within 10 minutes of all major conveniences and some great bushwalking.

We are from the land so are drawn to the environmentally unspoilt area of South Durras. We enjoy good movies and books and love music - plenty of all to be found at our house. We enjoy sport too and our new found interest is trekking - lots of good walks too on the coast.
