Room @Heart of Historical Edinburgh

Apartment - Private room · Milton St, Edinburgh, EH8, United Kingdom

The Space

My lovely flat is located in a very quiet area right next to Holyrood Palace (4 minutes walking distance) and Holyrood Park (2 minutes away!!) so it is an excellent base to discover the history, attractions and nature this amazing city has to offer.

The house sits in the second floor of a typical Edinburgh flat with 2 big double bedrooms, a large living room with a kitchen, high ceilings, gas central heating, double glazing and electric hot shower.

The bedroom size is 5 by 4 square metres and features a double bed, two wardrobes, a sofa and a desk and it was freshly decorated in April 2012.

The price includes free WiFi internet, fresh towels and bed linen and access to the kitchen which is well equipped, living room, bathroom and hairdryer. You can also use the washing machine if you wish.

The Royal Mile is just 5 minutes walking distance from us so there are plenty of good restaurants, pubs and all the main attractions nearby. Also we have a shopping centre 10 minutes from the house with a very good and big supermarket.

There are plenty of buses 4 minutes walking distance from the house including an airport bus (Lothian bus number 35, £1.40 single ticket), you can take a taxi or you can park for free in our street.

I have a good knowledge of my gorgeous city so I will be delighted to give you any tips and suggestions if you want me to and there is also a folder in your bedroom with general information about the city, its attractions, and restaurants as well as a Scottish guidebook for your use.

You can find another listing in Airbnb for the second room and the whole flat.

  • My boyfriend and I were only in Edinburgh for 2 days, 1 night. Eva was friendly and SO helpful! She gave us a map and directions, also suggestions for what would be the best and most budget friendly places to see and eat. She told us history, suggested free tours, and wrote all over our map with the information we wanted. Our favorite of her suggestions was Amber restaurant, inside the Scotch Whiskey Experience and we had the best lunch of our lives!!! We had the Scottish Tapas, and who knew we would like Haggis so much?? We had an awesome time, thanks to Eva and her excellent suggestions.

The flat was exactly as advertised, the pictures are very accurate. It was HUGE, and extremely clean. The kitchen was great, the bathroom also - both clean and in good working order. The kitchen had all the basics, coffee/tea, some cereal, etc. Our room was very large, and very comfy. I have absolutely no complaints about this place. It's on a quiet street, a very short walk from Holyrood Palace and from the start of the Royal Mile. We were also around the corner from the bus that took us to the airport when it was time to leave. Eva's flat is in a great location for walking or public transport.

Eva also let us leave our luggage at the flat after we checked out. She was so kind. Our flight home wasn't until 9pm, and we wanted to spend Friday exploring some more without dragging our bags around. She let us keep our things at the flat until we needed to get on the airport bus. I can't thank her enough, really!

We had a wonderful time, and next time we're in Edinburgh we will be staying here if we can!

  • Eva was very accommodating regards my checking in with good communications and was very helpful. Sadly it was a short visit, the flat was amazing and will certainly book again when in Edinburgh.

  • I had a wonderful time at Eva's spot! The flat is perfectly located around the corner from Holyrood park and palace and the room itself is spacious and very comfortable. Eva was a great host and gave me a personal account of some of her favourite sites around the city. This was only my first time using AirBnB, but Eva has guaranteed I'll be a life-long user. Don't miss out on this amazing room next time you're in Edinburgh!

  • Its huge and beutiful room for two, near to the park and the Arthurs seat trail, 5min to a supermarket...but takes about 20 min walking to the city center. Eva was very nice and show me the map with main attractions and several good pubs and restaurants. She even helped me finding a great tour to the highlands!

  • Had an absolutely wonderful time in Edinburgh at Eva's apartment. Cannot recommend the place enough! An easy walk into town, and Eva was great enough to take the time to explain all the sights and points of interest to me, and to provide me a map and everything. Made me feel right at home. Book this place!

  • We had a lovely time staying with Eva. She is extremely helpful and knowledgeable with the city and made great suggestions of what to see and where to eat, all of the inside tips.

The flat is clean and tidy, with lots of room. Eva really gave us our space, we only saw her during our check-in.

One thing I didn't realize was how close she is to Arthur's Seat, so if that's on your list of things to do in Edinburgh this would be a plus for you!

  • Eva's flat is very nice, it has everything you need. Plus, she recommended good pubs and gave sightseeing tips. Her apartment is pretty conveniently located, it's at the end of the Royal Mile which takes you to the centre of the old town. It's very cloe to the 35 bus stop which takes you to the airport.
All in all, I had a great stay at Eva's flat!

  • Perfect room, very clean apartment, close to all attractions and Eva is a very nice helpful person! What you need more for a good holiday. I was in my four days in Edinburgh happy to stay there.

  • I had a wonderful stay at Eva's house. She is the best host ever: friendly, caring, warm, clean and gives you space and time to enjoy your stay at her place. In addition, as she has a degree in tourism and LOVES Edinburgh she gave me lots of tips to get the most of both cities.
Her place is located five minutes away of Hollyrood Palace and Gardens as well as the beginning of the Royal Mile. Also if you want to go to the old town she'll tell you about a shortcut that is very convenient to take because of all the things you can see on your way there ( Gardens, Calton Hill, National Monument, the Parliament). Furthermore, there are three supermarkerts for all kinds of budgets and shops five minutes away, as well as restaurants, cafes and pubs 10 minutes away from her home.
The apartment is spotless, quiet, well illuminated, warm... and it is decorated in a relaxing way. The bathroom is immaculated, warm and the shower is always hot.
What else can I say? If I had the opportunity of going back to Edinburgh I definetly go to Eva's house!
Eva I felt at home at your place, thanks for everything!

I am originally from Spain but I have been living in Edinburgh for the past 17 years. I love travelling and I am fascinated by meeting people, other cultures, learning new recipes, enjoying any type of arts this city can offer and finding out about myself in the process. I have been almost in every attraction in Edinburgh as well as visited most of Scotland so I can give you plenty of information about many Scottish attractions, food, entertainment and transport. Edinburgh is an amazing place to visit and I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
