Idyllic cabin set in a gorgeous private cove on Lake Superior 23 miles North of Grand Marais. 2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms + loft. Open floor plan + wall of windows = spectacular lake views. Sunrises and moon-rises are equally amazing. Sip coffee in the rocking Adirondack chairs on the deck or cozy up on the couch in front of the red wood burning stove. Fast fiber WIFI at 100 MPS up/down for remote work and school. Classic backyard bonfire pit + solo stove on the deck. Instagram = @mossyhollowcove

The space
The Master bedroom offers beautiful lake views, a king sized bed, en suite full bathroom and generous closet and drawer space. The second bedroom is nicely appointed and features a queen bed. The loft has a queen bed and overlooks the common living area. It has beautiful lake views and a cozy place to sleep for those comfortable climbing a ladder.

The 3/4th bath is situated right outside of the second bedroom and is convenient to the common living area and loft. Towels are provided. Fiber internet covers the cabin with fast wifi and a land line is available in case of emergency. The mud room has a door that closes and a desk space that can fit external monitors should you want to create a separate work space from the main living area.

The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would expect and more for meal prep. Coffee for the Keurig and Tea is provided or feel free to bring your own grounds for the French Press. Olive oil, commonly used cooking spices, and Salt + Pepper are available. There is also an electric grill on the deck that you are welcome to use.

The cabin is very well insulated and has baseboard heat for year round use. There is also a wood burning stove in the great room, a solo stove available for the deck, and a fire ring located about 15 feet off of the deck. The trail to the Gazebo is nicely cleared. The chest of drawers under the TV in the great room is full of games, puzzles, and art supplies - Enjoy! The TV allows you to watch Netflix and Disney+ as well as to connect your personal devices if you have other streaming apps that you want to watch on the larger screen. There is high-end furniture throughout the cabin. The parking pad can accommodate up to 3 cars.

Other things to note
All wheel drive is recommended in the winter, especially if snow is in the forecast. A plowing service will clear the driveway and parking pad within 24 hours of a snowfall of more than 3 inches. The driveway is not particularly steep, but there is one short uphill stretch on your way back out to MN-61 that could be tricky in fresh snow without all wheel drive.

A water cooler is located in the dining area. We recommend using this dispenser for drinking water and when filling the water reservoir in the coffee maker. The cabin has a lake draw system and the tap water is double filtered for safety. We prefer the taste of the purified water from the dispenser but the tap water is fine for cooking and bathing. The water pressure will vary due to the lake draw system and the running water may occasionally stop for short periods of time. If it does stop the water pressure typically returns within 15 minutes.

A 15 ft and 17ft canoe are available for guest use on calm days. Life jackets of various sizes can be found in the hall closet. We recommend that guests stay very close to the cove and only go out during the summer when the lake is a smooth as glass. Lake Superior waves and currents can be fierce and the water temp is very cold. Use of canoes is at guests' own risk.

I love the North Shore of Lake Superior! It is beautiful year round and there is something magical about the sound of the waves regardless of it is calm or stormy. Buying Mossy Hollow Cove was a dream come true for my husband and I. Grand Marais is a town near and dear to our hearts and we searched for months to find a cabin on the shore that was closer enough to drive into town for a meal and shopping but far enough away to feel remote and private (with no hi-way noise)! We want to share this serene haven with the world and we hope that you enjoy it as much as we do!
