UNBEATABLE LOCATION!! Tucked away in a grove of Aspen trees right beside the Roaring Fork river, our rustic retreat offers a one-of-a kind mountain getaway. Cozy in winter, spectacularly situated in fall and summer, our house is an easy 10-minute walk to the gondola plaza and a mere stone's throw from all the restaurants and amenities in Aspen's core.

The space
Owned by our family for over 50 years, this riverfront house proudly retains its down-to-earth simplicity and old-Aspen charm. We have recently upgraded the expansive outdoor deck, replaced all kitchen appliances and fully renovated the primary bathroom, providing you with modern touches to make your stay more enjoyable. With floor-to-ceiling glass windows in the living room, an upstairs balcony overlooking the river and offering a view of Aspen Mountain and a large deck with a grill and outdoor seating, our spacious, airy home gives off the feeling of a private treehouse, all while providing breathtaking views of the Roaring Fork River.

In summer, allow yourself to take in the soothing sounds and glorious views of the river, inhale the fresh mountain air, and revel in the delicate rustling of the Aspen trees; you'll feel as if you've been transported to a simpler, more relaxing place and time. With your cares left behind you, you'll be cradled in the peaceful embrace of the natural surroundings.

Guest access
Guests may use all rooms displayed and have full private access to the deck and balcony.

Other things to note
Please note: There’s been some wear & tear on the house this past season, so the couch & living room rug need to be replaced. Both have been professionally and repeatedly steam cleaned. So if you’re someone who’s bothered by that, or by any of the less than perfect features of an older house, then our home is not a good fit for you. That said, we have gradually been updating the house, both inside and out. We’ve added all new appliances in the kitchen & installed snow gates on the roof, as well as making other improvements. We love sharing our home with people who will appreciate its charms, who don’t mind its quirks and who will appreciate the idea of a lovely and singular old Aspen-type chalet as much as we do!

Neighborhood highlights

Only a 5 minute walk from the heart of town, our cabin is nestled at the end of a private drive, thus offering a unique mix of seclusion and accessibility. Feel free to spend your days relaxing on our property, kick up your feet on our outdoor lounge chairs, grill or practice yoga on our riverfront deck, sink into our living room couch and watch TV (Roku) or play any of our classic board games. You can also take beautiful hikes, explore town, and take the gondola up Aspen mountain (depending on the season) -- all without needing a car. Our cabin is a brisk 8 minute walk from the popular Hunter Creek trailhead, and less than a minute's walk from the Rio Grande bike trail. Family and dog-friendly Herron Park is just a block from the house.
