The Space

Violet’s Born Guest House is ideal for single travellers, couples, friends, families and students who want not only an affordable and relaxed place to stay, but (email hidden) like a local” experience.

This spacious Guest House is situated in a typical Born building with its typical architecture, and with the added touches of a local Catalan artist named “Violeta”. When not storytelling or practicing theatre Violeta can be found mingling the Born neighbourhood with her friends.
This guest house has a total of 3 bedrooms.

This is a twin-double room for 1-2 persons where beds can be separated or pushed together. It has a large window which offers natural light.

The apartment has a very spacious and beautifully decorated living & dining area, a cozy kitchen with a kitchen table, a large bathroom with a bathtub and a very comfortable, positive and hospitable energy.

Situated in the trendy " El Born" neighbourhood (with its art galleries, artist's studios, designer shops, museums such as the Picasso and Textile Museum), this apartment offers travellers the location luxury of being only minutes away (on foot) from Barcelona’s Beaches, the Gothic Quarter, Las Ramblas and Plaza Catalunya.

El Born with its distinctive atmosphere which is widely popular among the foreigners living in Barcelona is renowned for its great variety of charming restaurants offering quality 'tapas', Mediterranean cuisine and seafood as well as plenty of bars, cafés (with their own 'terrazas') and little “independent” shops all contributing to give El Born its modern, artistic and cosmopolitan atmosphere.

  • My friend and me really endjoyed our stay (6 days) in Barcelona at Violeta's flat. The flat is clean and - at least for us - it felt like a "real Catalonian home".
Our room was smaller than it appeared on the pictures but that was no problem.
We could use bathroom, kitchen, living room and balcony as often as we wanted to. The Balcony was my favourite place of the flat - from here you directly look at the cute St. Marcus chapel - that was awesome! :)
Luke wasn't there, so Alex checked us in. He was nice and helpful and gave us some good tipps for the city.
During the week we got to know Violeta who is living in the flat. She is a wonderful person!
There was only one little annyoing point: at night we left the window open, because it was quite hot, and the street next to our room was very busy and loud - even at 3 o'clock in the morning.
But after one or two nights we got used to that ;)
The location of the flat is just perfect!!!
I really fell in love with the gothic neighboorhood! We could get by foot almost everywhere we wanted to go within this week.
Nearby the flat you find the Picasso museum, St. Caterina market, little shops and good Tapas restaurants.
It was a wonderful week in a great flat and I would come back at any time :)

  • Last week me (Merel, a friend of Milou) and my boyfriend had a great stay in Barcelona. The cosy and clean apartment had an amazing location, we couldn't wish for better. The host was very friendly and he even arranged for us to stay a night longer at another apartment, just around the corner. We were also lucky to have to whole apartment to ourselves because the other couple cancelled. In the summer it's pretty hot in Barcelona and we couldn't leave the windows open during the night, that and the noise coming from the street at night are the only things that can maybe bother you. But we didn't care and we would definitely come back!

  • We didn't meet Luke but Alex who checked us in, and Violeta who also lived in the apartment, were both great, being helpful and friendly. The room was comfortable, lockable and private. The kitchen was spotless and easy to use; the bathroom was workable, although toilet paper was not replaced promptly enough. The room was very warm in July so we would recommend a fan! All in all we found this to be good value for an excellent location. The wifi is great too.

  • My best friend and I visited Barcelona for 3 short days and nights. We loved the city and we had a great time in the apartment in El Born. Luke was very responsive during the booking process and the place was just like it was described on the post. The check in process was easy and Alex provided us a map and some suggested restaurants nearby. The apartment was clean and lovely. The balcony was so nice to sit out and watch the people below while drinking a glass of wine. I would certainly return here when I'm back in Barcelona.

  • Very good location, the appartment is in good shape, clean. The only problem might be that the windows are quite thin so we can hear people in the street very clearly.
    Otherwise good value for money!

  • GREAT! The communication before we arrived was perfect, so that everything was well prepared for our stay at the lovely appartement. The flat is clean and we could always use the whole flat and especially the nice balcony infront of a small church. What a view, what a nice place to eat breakfast or drink beers at night. We really enjoyed it! We had an amazing time at the flat, it´s right in the centre of the old city, you can reach everything by foot or even take the metro, which is just a few minutes to walk from the appartement. Thanks for seven great days. Best Meike and Raphael

  • We really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and the appartement was exactly what we needed. A nice place where you could get back to after a day of walking. It took a 5 minutes walk in all directions to get somewhere: Ramblas, harbor, Picasso museum. Shops very close (Mercat de Santa Caterina is right around the corner)
