Medium sized village location, with many amenities described in main description.
Smoking is allowed on the garden patio, but not within the property.
Brenda's warm friendly welcome was matched by the comfort of her lovely home. I enjoyed the comfort of a designated lounge/dining room with TV and a BIG cosy chair to watch it from!
My single bedroom and indeed the whole house was clean, tidy, and the house well placed with access to Derby and all main routes.
I had the use of a designated shower room with my own loo and wash basin, and again clean, tidy and close to my bedroom.
Breakfast was delicious home made fruit compote and preserves with yoghurt and toast (respectively! ), although Brenda is apparently well known for her scrambled eggs. :)
Parking is quite limited, but is also available in a bay on the opposite side of the road.
Brenda is a friendly conversational person and a bright knowledgeable lady, with an infectious fascination for travelling and classical mosaics. Many of her own beautiful creations decorate her home.
Thank you Brenda. I enjoyed my stay.
I was cycling up to the Peak District and Brenda was able to accommodate me at the last minute in her annexe which was great. Just like having your own private apartment. Brenda is a lovely host who is friendly and helpful but not overbearing. Breakfast was excellent as well. Highly recommended.
Brenda's guesthouse was lovely. The single room I stayed in was compact but beautifully decorated, the bathroom has a power shower (always a bonus!) and she makes an excellent breakfast. I highly recommend staying here!
Beautifully cosy home and Brenda made us feel very welcome! Added bonus of having our own sitting room space to relax. We didn't expect her to go out of her way as much as she did, buying soya milk/olive oil spread for breakfast just because I am lactose intolerant - very attentive to helping out wherever she could! would definitely recommend, as our first airbnb we left extremely happy :)
I booked this for my partner who was working in the area for a few days. He said he though the room/annex was fabulous and couldn't ask for more. Brenda was really welcoming and an excellent host - He will definitely be back. Thank you.
Great purpose built apartment. Excellent breakfast. Good stay. Thanks
Thank you Brenda for a home away from home experience. Very clean and comfortable. Although I only stayed for one brief evening I would definitely return and recommend to others staying in the area.
