This amazing 1940's cottage was lovingly restored to include all of the modern amenities within an environmentally friendly package. It's hard to choose between the front porch swing, the back deck and the private master patio for lounging. The loft is a unique space for reading, meditating or can sleep 2 if you are a crew of 4+. This little jewel is a half mile from either Downtown, the Beach, or Island View Casino. All a quick walk or bike ride. Be sure to take the kayak out for a paddle!

The space
This cottage is a whopping 700 square feet but you would never guess it. The open concept and ample outdoor areas make it feel absolutely perfect. You will find the kitchen well appointed including such necessities as an immersion blender, juicer, and waffle iron. The roomy master is bright and airy and opens onto a private patio. The second bedroom has a queen size bed and simple furnishings to include a cowhide rug. A bonus "room" is a second level loft which is accessed by a loft ladder. The ceiling height in the loft is 5'6 at the peak. There is a window which looks out at the massive oaks in the backyard. This space features a floor futon which will function as a lounge/reading area unless you request it to be made up as an additional bed. The bathroom has a full tub/shower, single vessel sink and a stack washer/dryer which you are welcome to use. The front porch is perfect in the early mornings, while the deck is our favorite afternoon spot. The patio is great pretty much anytime of day.

Our neighborhood is a diverse, multi-generational neighborhood. Our neighbors are snowbirds, retirees, military families, young couples and small families. The vibe is laid back as you would expect in an area this close to the beach. If you see our neighbor pedaling his beach cruiser to the beach with his fishing rod onboard, the fish are surely biting. We love heading out the door for a quick walk or bike and being at the beach or exploring downtown in a snap. The tamales down the street at the Tamale Shack are incredible and our favorite coffee shop is Coast Roast. Our favorite beer at Chandeleur Island Brewing Company is Little Smack and you've gotta try a gourmet popsicle from Pop Brothers!

If you or a loved one are in town for a medical procedure, Memorial Hospital is less than 1 mile away.

Hey! I'm Amanda and my partner and co-host Aurora and I are a pair of adventurous women who are on a mission to restructure our lives to make more room for the people and things we love. Aurora is from Alaska and I am a Mississippi native. We are bikers, hikers, musicians, makers, activists, travelers, teachers and in a former life, archaeologists. I love coffee, carpentry and the great outdoors. Aurora plays a mean fiddle, loves cold water and takes her tea hot.
