~~~ AREA ~~~
The people around here are so friendly and helpful!!! It doesn't seem like the city yet it is so close to Shinjuku. You have everything you need nearby and the quaintness of all the old school mom and pop stores still survive here!! There is a supermarket a minute away and you could walk to Shinjuku in 30 minutes if you wanted to. Staying around here for a week or so is to experience living in Japan for that same amount of time. I have many friends who love living in this area!! I highly recommend it.
There is a 100¥ store across the street as well as a supermarket so you could eat for not much money if you are on a budget. There are small, delicious restaurants nearby including this great curry place. I really think you would enjoy staying here as I have. Of course you can come and go as you please and there is no curfew.
CHEERS AND HOPE TO HEAR FROM YOU SOON!!!
The apartment will be all yours so please take good care of it.
Please be quiet and discreet. Very important to respect your neighbors in Japan!
Please turn off the air conditioner/heater when not there.
Please take off your shoes when you enter.
NO SMOKING inside the apartment. Outside on the balcony is fine!
YOU MUST separate the trash*** #1 VITAL thing in Japanese culture!!
Trash is divided into categories and put in different bags.
Please separate your:
burnables, recyclables (cans, plastic bottles, glass), and non-burnable items.
Please put these in separate bags. Using any clear plastic bag is okay in Tokyo!!
Have fun but don't be too loud. If you need something, email or call me.
Most importantly, make yourself at home and be comfortable.
Will is very prompt in his replies and he provides very detailed guide to the apartment and the area around which was a great help.
The apartment is very well situated, close to the metro and just 3-4 stations away from Shinjuku. The Lawson 100 yen and the supermarket is so convenient and there are a few food places around as well. The apartment is slightly small but it fits 2 people. The neighbourhood is very safe and quiet, however there may be times whereby it gets slightly noisy in the morning due to the sorting out of rubbish. The portable Wi-fi provided was a plus.
Nice little apartment. Only problem is the bed is uncomfortable and small
We spend our last vacation days in Tokyo.
Will contacted me fast, directly and nice. No problems with the booking.
The instructions on how to reach the apartment starting from Nakano-shimbashi were wrong (!), because there were no longer any construction works going...the description from Nakano-fujimicho went perfectly.
The apartment is very small and badly insulated but everything you need will be there.
The "first" bed is too small for two people and the "second" bed was not really a bed. Like in general in Japan the "second" bed was a futon, but not a real one; very thin and not really a mattress.
So that and the fact that the heater was not working directly was very disappointing!
We contacted Will because of the futon and the heater and he answered once by sending a confirmation saying that the cleaner put out the futon...
After that he didn't answered any more so that was disappointing too!
Next day we somehow started the heater...
I can confirm that it is more like running a buisiness for him. And we stayed because we could not find an alternative that fast and we were very tired of travelling around...
We had a great stay in Nakano-Shimbashi. The apt was exactly as listed, small but cosy. We were busy exploring Tokyo during the day and were always looking forward to the apt off the tourist trail in the evening. Will's descritpions were very complete and made it easy for us to find our way around. Every question is already answered in advance. We didn't have much more contact with Will during our stay as eveything is set up so the guests can be very independent. We would recommend this place hands down. Thanks again. Diana
We had a great stay in Tokyo and this little apartment did the job well. Close to transportation in a quiet neighborhood is perfect after a long day in the hustle and bustle of the city.
About the Host, Will
Nice to meet you. My name is Will. I love hosting on airbnb and it is my life. It is tons of fun and there are new surprises every day! I have met so many interesting people as a host and I look forward to those I will meet in the future.
I am a sports fan, reader, movie goer, and I like to try new things. I play golf, basketball, and just about any sport you can think of. I love ramen, yakiniku, yakitori, and shabu shabu here in Japan. I love to try pizza all over the world when I travel.
Relationships are the most important thing for me in my personal life as well as business. I like to go out and have a good time with my friends and meet new people.
I have learned so much from my over three years as an airbnb host and I am pleased to say I have most questions answered for you before you ask them, whether it be in the description of the listing or in the detail I supply you with at confirmation. Still, I am always thinking of ways to make the guest experience more comfortable, efficient, and hassle free. This is my goal as a host. I will continue to get more places every month so I can host more travelers. I want everyone to see Tokyo at least once!
Tokyo is a great place to come and people from all over the world visit here making it a truly international city. I love Tokyo and seeing the amazing sights and people. It is a great place to explore and every day can be different. This is an awesome destination for walkers and wanders filled with friendly people, tasty restaurants, and plenty of lights. My tip is to make the initial contact with Japanese people because they are typically shy at first. They will be happy to try to practice their English with you.
Hope I can host you soon! May your trip to Tokyo be as amazing as my 7 years here has been!
