While staying at the Ecotower, you are actually staying in a piece of art created by the celebrated glass artist Nani Croze. The place is colorful, cheerfully inspiring and totally in touch with nature and the elements. Come stay with us if you enjoy unique, creative experiences. Our staff will make you feel at home and the ocean will offer you amazing background sounds & refreshing swims! For additional accommodation, the Doum Palm cottage is under the same management and on the same property.

The space
The Ecotower is a treehouse wrapped around a doum palm. It only has very few walls to let the breeze – and nature – circulate freely through its 4 floors.

The multicolored recycled glass used in the tower's structure as well as Nani’s dalle de verre art in the stairways and floors joyfully play with both the sun and moonlight to bring a very unique glow and cheerful ambiance to the living areas.

While the ground floor hosts a glass gallery, you will be living in the top three, private levels of the tower.

THE FIRST FLOOR is a lounge with dining situated in the tree canopy of the surrounding forest. Your breakfast and meals will be served here.

THE SECOND FLOOR is an en-suite bedroom with hanging bed and a terrace overlooking the tree tops towards the Indian Ocean. At night, this bed is lit by the passing moon peaking in between the palm leaves and open staircases.

While the second floor is all about comfort and cool breezes,
THE THIRD FLOOR features one of the most unique sleep-out experiences the country has to offer: THE ECOTOWER STARBED.

From the highest point overlooking Watamu you will not only enjoy the most amazing sunrises and sunsets featuring 360 panoramic views of the Arabuco Sokoke forest and the Indian Ocean but when weather conditions are good you will also be able to push your sky bed out to be uniquely surrounded by the gentle coastal winds and the African sun or starlit sky only.

While watching the sun go down over the virgin forests and the Indian Ocean is special enough, sleeping or napping in the Ecotower Starbed is just OUT OF THIS WORLD!

The place is under new management from February 2020 to ensure a refreshing stay while at our Ecotower & Doum Palm House.

BEACH ACCESS & LOCATION
The house sits in original coastal forest with direct access - on a 100 meter private path - to the sea and one of the best and least populated beaches in Africa. We are situated opposite THE WATAMU MARINE PARK containing wonderful coral gardens which are protected by a reef (therefore no sharks).

The Ecotower and environs are very quiet, the beach front too is far from the hustle and bustle of the hotels.
