We had a trouble finding the location, were unable to stay.
The stay at Hostel Mariposa was a perfect way to start our stay in Nicaragua. Severine organised a taxi to pick us up at the airport and take us straight to the accommodation, eliminating any hassle we had in getting there. The little bungalow was beautiful and as my parents said it looked like paradise, breakfast was also great and at a good price. Would stay there again in an instant.
What a wonderful place!! Hostal Mariposa is a great place to relax, and explore. The hosts could not be more helpful, welcoming and gracious. Clean, safe, good food. Great all around.
What a wonderful welcome we received from Severine and her husband. We felt at home immediately.
The crepes were fantastic as was the baguettes. Beautiful little property, quiet and clean, we enjoyed our stay.
The experience at Mariposa was beautiful. The hotel was as beautiful as the photos and Severine, her husband and family were helpful about the town, banks, and where to go. The rabbit, scarlet, was adorable hopping around minding her own business.
It was nice and convenient to have breakfast, lunch or dinner as an option at the hotel for the times we wanted to relax in the hotel and not go back into the city. Everything was reasonably priced too.
Hopping on a bus outside on the street was a convenient way to get to town less than 50 cents round trip.
We would definitely stay there again on another visit.
We loved the city itself and the ocean is 15 minutes away!
This is a great little oasis just outside of Leon. The bungalows are sweet and the "outdoor" bathroom is fantastic. (It's part of your bungalow but the sky is the ceiling, and there are plants in the bathroom area - lovely.)
The pool was a welcome respite, and felt truly necessary in Leon's heat. The area was quiet and it was simple to catch a bus into town (where a bus stop let us out at our favorite coffee shop.) That being said, the pool could be less chlorinated. Waaaaay less.
Severine and Michael are available and helpful. They're what I would describe as hands-off - available if you need them but they've got plenty to do.
Our only suggestion for change (aside from chlorine levels) would be that they institute a "No skype calls on your mobile phone in the public area" rule. I don't want to listen to anyone's personal life at 95 decibels, thanks.
Finally, having meals onsite is a great option but it's not a restaurant - you can expect decent food but dining is not the main event.
We'd recommend staying here and if we were back in Leon we'd definitely make a reservation again.
